Someone asked me the other day how many teeth DS has, I replied "5" . They said "oh that's odd teeth should come in pairs".

He has 2 bottom teeth and on the top he has 2 central but only 1 lateral incisor. There is no sign of the matching lateral incisor yet.

So do teeth always come in pairs or did your kids have an odd number of teeth for a while too?

No, not always. My DD2 (22 months) has her teeth coming through here and there, and certainly not in pairs! My DD1 was the same

No. My son got 3 together at one time.

No they surely don't!! Although I always thought so too!! My dd 4 bottom and 2 tops came in pairs but that's it!!
She then got another top tooth so she had three up there for 4.5 months and finally the fourth top tooth has come through!! I was so distracted thinking that the 4th top one would come through next I didn't notice she had a molar top left she now has bottom right molar!! So defiantly not in pairs!!

Definitely not!
I think in theory they should. But I am yet to meet a child who's teeth popped out perfectly.
My Ds always seems to have an odd number of teeth!

I agree that they definitely don't! My DD got her first tooth at 7.5 months, and still doesn't have her second one 2 months later.

my son has got teeth in fours...the front four, the four incisors, and now he is recieving all four of his molars at once...so my guess is no...my nephew never did either. Don't stress, teeth will come through however they come through...it's not something you can change

Nope. My ds got his teeth in lots of three, or singles.

Nope! there were about 7 weeks between my DD's only two teeth. Her last one came thru at 9 months, she is 13 months now and we are still waiting for the third one!!!
I read somewhere that once they start they come thru at the rate of about 4 every 4 months too. DD doesn't match that theory either!!
