Hi Ellymay,

I would really love to have a little girl, I have 3 nephews and It would be nice to have a girl in the family. My DP wants a boy of course, but as you said at the end of the day as long he or she is healthy I don't really mind.

Cheers

Hi Ellymay, I'm with Pippa - I think a girl would be great. But I think I have been working up to having a girl since psychics started telling me way before I was even pregnant that it would be a girl. To be honest, I used to think a boy would be better for some reason, but since switching on to the girl idea, I wouldn't have it any other way.

Well...I would of course, but you know what I mean. ;) After our u/s on Tuesday, I referred to the bub as a 'she' in front of the doc and he asked me what I would do if it was a boy to which my DH replied "That's ok.... he'll get used to wearing dresses". It was very funny at the time. :D

Health really is the most important thing and DH and I do want a fourth child regardless of the gender, but I would really like to have the experience of raising a son. I think it would be wonderful for my sweet daughters to have a little brother and an extra male influence in their lives aside from their Daddy. DH is so great with the girls that I would love to see the same interaction with a son.

Just my personal thoughts. All children are blessings. :)

Well I want another girl bc my dd is the only one her real dad has another son
and me and dh have a son and my dd has a step brother so she is stuck with
a bunch of boys. I really want another girl so that I will feel like our family is
complete. I am not even picking a girl name out yet though so I am just expecting
a boy. I will be happy if it is a boy but I told dh that I was not done having
children if it were a boy and he doesn't really want anymore so he is wanting
it to be a girl too.

I already have 2 boys and they are great, but this is the last bub for us so I really hope it is a Girl. I have always wanted a little girl to dress her up all pretty, but if it is another boy that will be ok. I'm just hoping this one is smaller than the last, he was 11 pound 2 1/2 ounces, another one like our first would be great which was 7 pound 9 ounces, that I can handle.
Still not sure if we want to find out the sex or not, what is everyone else going to do? Find out or not!!!

Nah Katherine a surprise at the end will be better.
we both really want a boy first but as everyone has said as long as it is healthy it doesnt matter but we cant even pick out girls names that we remotely like!!

Katherine - I hope the morning sickness has settled down for you!!!

I am definitely finding out the sex! I figure it's always going to be a nice surprise.. why not be surprised earlier? That way you have the fun of planning/buying for the bub. I also think it kind of helps with bonding before he/she is born, as if you 'know' them a bit better. Maybe?

I have to admit.. I've started buying pink. People must think I'm a total nutbag shopping for the sex based on the word of a few psychics.. mind you they are VERY convincing! :o

Yeah i do agree Cosmic, dont get me wrong its just katherine and mark have their hearts set on a girl(mark wanted a girl so bad last time that he wouldnt choose a boys name until the last minute)i just thought that when you want it that desperately maybe it is better to wait til its born because then if it is a boy the disappointment may be a little less because she will have the baby in her arms :( dunno.A friend of mine had a boy and wanted a girl to finish off the family and in the ultrasound found out that it was a boy and for the next two days anything you said about the baby she would burst in to tears and cry for ages,i just think if she had of been holding him at that stage maybe she would take it a bit better? not sure never done this before....

Of course we'll be rapt to have a little bundle of joy of either sex.....although we admit we are slightly hoping more for a girl. Only because there are so many males on my husband's side of the family - he is one of 3 boys, and his 2 brothers have both gone onto have boys.....so a girl would be a refreshing change :p

We're not going to found out the baby's sex beforehand....I figure it might make me push a bit more enthusiastically during labour as I'll be so keen to find out!

This is our first baby, (due 15th March) & still wondering whether we should find out the sex of the baby but after reading missus s post really made me think & giggle.....not finding out the sex of the baby might make me push harder in labor !!!!!

of course As long as the baby is healthy I will be happy, but, i use to want a girl 1st so i could put her in dancing & dress her us in pretty clothes, but now thinking a boy would be nice first & then a girl (so he could help look after his little sister)

Either way I cant wait !!! :D

Well, I think we're having a boy (there's a bold prediction at only 5w4d!!). In another thread, I confessed to having had a "vision" (a word that makes me sound like a fruit loop). I saw a little boy, and I instantly thought, "oh, he's OUR little boy!". And frankly, we're having such trouble agreeing on girls' names, we'd better leave the girl for Bub #2 and have a boy for Bub #1. And DH and I can't wait to find out what sex it is (my mother is horrified - it wasn't done in her day - but we're so keen!!).

My DH wants a boy, but would still love a girl, he'd just prefer our first born to be a boy! Must be some macho thing?!

I honestly think we are having a boy, and have had dreams about a boy, but deep down I think i'd love a little girl!!!

I am 37 weeks preg with first baby and for no real reason am desperately hoping its a boy, so is DH. I suppose this is partially because I'm a bit of a tomboy and also want to break the family genetic tradition of having a girl first- everyone else has had a girl first, siblings, parents, grandparents .... so we'd like a boy- just to be different. we do try to remain un-biased and call it "it" but we do tend to find ourselves referring to it as "he". I also find I can quite happily look at little boy stuff and clothes, but not anything pink or girlie.

I am a bit concerned that if its a girl that my respnse will be "oh.." :o

I know in the end i'll be happy either way but my preference remains quite strong.

I'll know soon enough though, 25 days to go :D
