Hi my name is Philippa and I'm a third year nursing/midwifery student at Deakin university. I'd love it if I could follow you through the exciting course of your pregnancy!
I know that the Follow through Journey has already been explained so I wont bore you by repeating it; but I am eager to answer any questions that you may have. Ideally if we could organise it between 12- 24 weeks in order to get to know each other, however my requirements only need first contact before 35 weeks so if you're happy to have me then I am overjoyed to have you! You are welcome to change your mind at any time.
This is not a physical relationship, but rather one of mutual learning. I won't do anything you are not comfortable with- I am aware that not everyone is comfortable with the idea of a student present at your birth (or simply don't want extraneous people in the room at such an intimate time) and that is totally understandable and not a problem at all. I am required to spend a minimum of 10 hours with you throughout the course of your pregnancy and the immediate weeks following the birth. This can be made up of antenatal visits; postnatal visits; labour; birth and even just chats over coffee.
I live in Glen Iris but I am happy to travel, especially considering that you are generous enough to allow me to accompany you through this special time in your life!
Looking forward to hearing from mums to be! You can reply here or email me at philippa.howard90@gmail.com
