I hate breastfeeding so much. My now 2 year old loves it, but I just can't take it anymore. Is there any way to encourage self weaning or something? Lol! Ugh. Just need some encouragement to perserver. So over it.

Wow well done on 2 years of BFing that is a huge accomplishment.

I did about 18 months with my last bub and thought I was a champion.

I just stopped cold turkey .. *shrugs* what can I say i woke up and knew i had had enough and putting up with her upset of not getting it was easier than giving it to her.

Just reached a point.

I understand completely! My two yr old is still breastfeeding and I can't see any end in sight.. I don't have the heart to force him but I find myself hoping he will self wean :( which I feel like will never happen. I even feel bad that I feel this way.

:hugs::hugs:

Congrats on getting so far :cheerleader1:

If you are tiring of feeding, but still want to continue, you cou,d try night weaning, to give yourself a decent break (if you havnt night weaned yet)

Hte above is a link to a great night weaning option. We are planning to folow this through in june, when DH is on holidays so i have support.

Otherwise you can try the dont offer dont refuse method and distract your child for as long as possible. We hant had as much luck with that as DS is veeerrryyy stubborn. Sometimes it delays him about 10 mins but thats it. :rolleyes:

If you want to wean, do so congratulating yourself on an amazing journey, and do it slowly enough that you dont get complications.

You shoukd be very proud whatever you decide to do.

I know that I matter too, but like you nelly, I don't have the heart to take away something she loves. I started trying to encourage her to drink water in a special sippy cup instead which worked for a while, but she got tired of it. I hope for both put sakes our children decide they have had enough soon

Hugs... It's hard isn't it. Even worse is he feeds to sleep, so I'm worried that if I can't night wean him but cut out day feeds then it will just up the amount of night wakings :( :( I'm clinging to the hope that he might stop soon by himself. I'm tired and want my body back. Good luck to you, fingers crossed for us both x
