I just wanted to share this with you ladies. With all the other horrible stories out there I really had to share this with you all.

She was bought back to life before they froze her though.
But still, that's amazing that they can actually do these things.

I'm not quite sure why this has made news all of a sudden....we have been using permissive hypothermia for about 3-4 years in my NICU in Melbourne for babies who have suffered asphyxia at birth....they have been using this method even longer in some places overseas.

We even have special cooling blankets to lay the babies on to cool them down to a set temperature. After a few days, we warm them up slowly. The cooling is supposed to slow the neuron death that often occurs after an asphyxial event at birth.
