Aw shucks hunny thankyou :D :hugs:
The dates i can only come are the 15th or the 22nd... :)
Jess's birthday is on the 6 and mine is on the 7th so i would to have a meet to celebrate our birthdays at our place too. Either the 8 or the 15th for the x'mas party is fine with me as the 22nd is my mum's birthday
I voted the 15th so Mel can come:laughing:

Well people, the poll is closed and our xmas picnic day is ......................
*drum roll*............................................. .................
8 DECEMBER 2006
So, we have pretty much all agreed on Whiteman Park for the venue, we now need to figure out;
(1) Time
(2) Food & Drinks
(3) Secret Santa.
Personally, I think we should all bring a couple of things, for eg, one meal type food such as say um.... sausage rolls, and one nibbly, say chips and a drink. I think this would be much easier...........but ofcourse, its majority rules.....so, can I pls have your opinions re food?
As for time, say 11.30ish?
Secret Santa..........Alicia's idea is good, we should all decide on a certain amount they would like to spend. Also, should we get all the names of the kiddies coming and all mummies names, put kiddies and mummies names in sep bags and draw 1 name out of bag at same time and then you get allocated a kiddy to buy for IYKWIM? That way at least we know if we need to buy for a girl or boy.
If anyone has any other ideas please let me know.
Alicia........might "delegate" secret santa task to you! :p
xo
Linda.

just an idea.. it great for the kids to get a little present but would it be easier for the parents to get there own child something ( with a limit spend still.. ) and put it in a bag with there name on it and someone hand it out.. its just that not everyone knows everyone else and there kids so it could prove difficult thats all.. other wise we need to provide plenty of details so the person can get something suitable for that child..also with so many people coming i think everyone would probably only need to bring one thing as there always seems to be soooo much food.. there probably isnt any need to bring several things each unless you want something special or anything thing... just my opinion since there always seems to be excess food ie at the picnic etc...
anyway just thinking out aloud so feel free to ignore it just my opinion..

i agree.. and if someone at the last minute cant turn up..atleast a child wont get left out(and it would just be easier)
We did that last year at a mums group I went to.. and it worked out really good ( we did a $10 max on spend price)

raise hand - I agree:thumbsup:
i agree with getting something small for our own kids then having them handed out that way.
We'd like to come too, but have been having internet issues so not on too often at the moment. (Telstra said it should be back properly by the end of the week). We love Whiteman park (that's where we had Ds's second birthday party).
Anyway, count us in and we'll see some of you at allycat's house on friday:thumbsup:

Sounds good to me girls........... was going to suggest that, but thought ppl would want to do it the other way! :o
So what should we set the limit to? Say $10 ? You can't really get much with less than that? At the same time we need to keep it fair.
So do you think that BYO is a better idea as well? IMO I think its just so much easier!
Pegasus...lokk forward to seeing you there!

LOL, i am not good with this stuff...
So secert santa, what does this job mean doing??
Seeing who is coming, getting presents, wrapping them, collecting money, and putting them in a sack? LOL
cmd'smum
19-09-2006, 00:13
Actually, some girls were saying we should just buy our own kids a pressie, wrap it and write their name on it. We can put it in a bag and then someone can just pull the presents out and hand them to each kid. The kids will still think its from Santa :devil6: Its just easier this way I recon...........
We just need to decide on a max amount of spending so its fair for all the kiddlets.
I recon about $10?
What does everyone think?

19-09-2006, 00:24
Yah that sounds alot easier, i like that one.... Lol...
Yup $10 sounds good.. What about the adults, no secert santa?
Alicia  anyway if it was happening I don't mind giving you a hand. Two hands are better than one or in our case Two Alicia's are better than one   I'm so so funny

Yea, I agree as well.......... plus how would we know who and what to buy for IYKWIM....... too hard....tooooooooo much brain power involved! :o
So we agree on Secret Santa then? We all spend up to $10 max on a pressie for our child/ren and wrap it and put their name on it. Then one of us will draw the present and hand it out?

too difficult.. not everyone knows everyone else so would make it very hard and impersonal so theres not really much point... and if people decide they cant come last minute or after the secret santa is organised people will end up missing out...
i agree just for the kids..
