Hello everyone, My name is Donna I'm 33yrs old and this is my first pregnancy. I have been married 12 years and the baby is due 3 days before our 13th wedding anniversary.
This is the first time we have tried for a baby and it happed on the 3rd month and we are both thrilled to already be expecting.
The baby is due on the 19th of May. I will be 5 weeks tomorrow and will be seeing the Doctor next tues.
I have taken two home pregnancy tests which were both possitive. I still find it hard to believe as I don't have any real symptoms yet. I had a headache for 3 days straight and my breasts are firmer but my nipples arn't sore. No sickness but needing to eat all of the time.
I look forward to having your support and learning great things from you all on this forum.
Thanks for reading
Donz

Thanks for the replies.
I guess I'm really going to the Doctor to get information as I have only lived in Australia for 2 years and I'm still not sure how your system works. I'm a Pom! In the Uk a woman can go through their whole pregnancy with only Midwifery care and also be delivered by a Midwife. I don't want to be delivered by a doctor as I know they will try to take control of the delivery.
There arn't many birthing centres around which has me a bit worried. I'm not too sure what to expect, it's all a bit worrying at the moment. If I deliver in a hospital will it automatically be by a Doctor?
If anyone has the time to run through the basics with me it would be appreciated.

hi donz
congratulations. good that you came to this site early on. i didn't find it until my DD was 6 months and wish i'd known about it during my pregnancy!

Like you, I felt fine and no sysmptoms to speak of until ~week 8. i had started to wonder when i would feel different. by week 8, i was feeling slightly queezy for about 4-5 days and thinking, "well, this is fine, what are all those women complaining about. it's not that bad!!!!!!!!!!" Well, i must have cursed myself, because by week 9 i felt like utter utter **** and it lasted until week 16!!! :(

anyway, touch wood that you won't experience too much pregnancy sickness. even if you do, as Kat said, it is an amazing and very cool experience having this little life growing inside you. enjoy!!!
