Hi everyone!
We have this checklist on the site - listing all the paperwork that new parents have to fill out once bub is born.
http://www.bubhub.com.au/infonewbabypaperwork.php
It is a bit out of date.
If you recently had a baby can you have a read?
Is there any OLD information in there?
Is there anything NEW that you had to fill out?
Thanks!!
Looks pretty up to date to me (had DS mid November). I don't think there was anything else.
The only other thing I can think of is how to set up Child Care Benefit through Centrelink for parents returning to work soon after bub is born?

All looks good to me. I would maybe change the bit about immunisations- I believe they are currently suggesting first vax is at 6 weeks and of coarse many will not vax at all. Perhaps it should read "obtain relevant information about immunisations,"or something similar.

There is another one, add your baby to your ambulance cover, I spoke to them the other day and they said that your newborn is only covered on your cover for 30 days from the day they are born, and after that they if you don't put them on from day 31 they are not covered.

thanks shabbychook! I wouldn't have thought of this one. I think in Qld that everyone has ambulance cover ... we pay for it through our electricity bills.
What state are you in?
I wonder what the other states do ...

In WA the ambulance cover is part of phi, so I didn't think of it. If you only have an ambulance cover policy then yes, you would need to add bub to that.
Good point!!

thanks narribri!
Just so I understand ... in WA you need to pay for ambulance cover as part of your private health insurance.
Is it part of hospital or extras? Or do you have the option (if you can't afford PHI) to just pay for ambulance cover?
Do many people do this? Or are there a lot of people without ambulance cover?

NSW is the same, ambulance cover as part of any basic PHI Policy.
On phone and one handed so I'll look at rest of the list later and let you know if there is anything else.

In WA you need to purchase separate ambulance cover. You can get it on it's own or as part of most extras policies.
The same is true in SA where my family are.
I honestly don't know how many people have/don't have cover, I would never be without it. I had to call one twice in the same month (first time ever!) and it was $779 per attendance. Thank God I didn't have to pay that.
