Hi ladies,

I have another post about my cycle after chemical pregancy but the situation has changed - I have just found out today I am pregnant, 2 weeks after being told I wasn't and having AF and brown spotting in the meantime.

I had my first FET exactly a month ago ie 4.5 weeks, and 2 weeks after that my HCG was 9 so I was told that was a negative. 3 days later I had a 3-4 day period, then about 3 days after that started some brown spotting which has pretty much finished but lasted a week. I did some HPTs yesterday and this morning which came up positive, so I had a BT today and my HCG was about 693.

I should be 6.5 weeks so I know that is a really low HCG level (but the lowest reported on betabase for 30 DPO is 535 so at least it's above that). My FS was really positive until I reminded him how long ago the ET was, and then he said maybe it won't be a viable pregnancy.

I'm going back to the clinic to get some progesterone pessaries tomorrow because my levels aren't high enough and then I'll have another BT in a few days. I don't know if I'm somehow imagining it but I'm feeling pretty queasy.

Can anyone give me positive stories about really low HCG levels? Right now I'm in shock, and not getting excited because it all seems so negative. But hey, I got to see my first ever HPT with 2 lines so that was pretty cool!

Gee I was going to come in and tell you how low mine was but even mine was higher than yours but nevertheless what is your reason for having IVF?

Is there any chance at all you have a natural miracle on board which was conceived later?

Otherwise, could you just have a late implanter?

At that level nothing will be seen on ultrasound so I guess you've got to play the wait and see game and pray that the level goes up in the next few days.

I wouldn't discount anything just yet. Anything can happen in this game. I wish you all the luck in the world!! :fingerscrossed::babydust1:

BBB - my hcg at 15dpo was 53 which was considered low (can't remember what it was at your stage), I had to have repeat bt's several times to ensure the level was going up, I also trippled my progesterone doses which were continued until 12 weeks gestation and I have a beautiful little girl. It is a touch and go time, pregnancies like this can go either way. Only a scan will confirm your pregnancy so if you are about 6.5 weeks you should be able to have a scan soon. It could mean a couple of possibilities ie ectopic or blighted ovum but could very well be a stable pregnancy, lots of people bleed during their pregnancies. I hope you have a good outcome. :fingerscrossed:

I had another BT this morning and my HCG has only risen about 200 in 3 days. Progesterone was good but I expect that's just from the pessaries that I'm back on. I'll have a scan on Monday (if I make it til then) but it's not sounding good. I can't believe that it could well be ectopic - who would have thought you could get that with IVF? Apparently it does happen. I don't have any pain though, so will just have to wait and see. I'm not expecting good news on Monday :(

:hugs:

I too was surprised when they suggested ectopic to me. I couldn't understand how that happens with IVF but it happens quite a bit apparently. I sure hope that isn't the case with you. Take care of yourself :hugs:

BBB - my hcg level at 14 dpo was only 15. I prayed my little heart out and just believed that the pregnancy was meant to be - and by the grace of god, I am now almost 32 weeks pregant.

I wish you all the very best xx

Well I thought it was all over yesterday - starting a bit of cramping (like just before AF starts) and dark dark brown spotting. Nothing has progressed though, the cramping has reduced, just minor twinges now and then; and still a bit of brown spotting. I just can't wait for tomorrow's scan to be over with so we can move on. If it's not viable I think I want a d&c to get out of limbo land. The worst possible result will be if there is no definitive result :hair:

I'm happy to say I'm out of limbo land - scan this morning showed no pregnancy so the spotting I've been having for just over 2 weeks was the uterine lining shedding from an early M/C. I was 99% sure I didn't have a healthy pregnancy so I am not upset, just relieved to know for sure so we can move on. My FS wants to do another FET straight away (as soon as I start a normal cycle which he thinks will be very soon - I'll have a scan and blood test in a week to see if I'm close to ovulation).

Thankyou for your support and well wishes. It has been a stressful week or so and I'm just glad it's over and the bonus is I don't need a D&C or surgery to remove an ectopic. :) That and no more pessaries for a few weeks! :D

Well after boasting a week ago that it was all sorted out - I was wrong. I went to my FS a few times with right-sided pain, and he couldn't see or feel anything but my HCG hasn't dropped like it should so I am now booked in for a laparoscopy on 16/3/11 to remove an ectopic. I'm certainly not looking forward to surgery but am looking forward to it all being over.
