How soon to test?

I am around 7DPO and have been having stomach cramps since last night.

How soon is it worth testing?

Dont want to waste my money or get my hopes up too high.... :o

I really wouldn't test till about 14 DPO though the absolute earliest some tests can pick up a BFP is 11 DPO. I haven't had a BFP under 14 DPO.
But having said that I was a serial tester ;)

some tests say that they can test from 7dpo however in reality the egg may not have implanted yet.. i think its generally (but nor limited to) around 6-11dpo for implantation and it may well need a couple of days to get the hormone levels up so if you want to test early i would do if from 9dpo. but yes, we should be really waiting until 14dpo, but who am i kidding, most of us probably dont! :laughing:

Im not one to give advice either I used up about 10 HPTs last cycle and was testing wayyyyyyyyyyyy too early! :D

I tested at 13 DPO (with one of the early detection tests) and got a BFN, then AF cramps so I fully believed AF was coming. The next time I tested was about 19 DPO and got a BFP, but I still thought AF was coming! I would wait til about 15 DPO next time. I say that now but I know I won't. :D Maybe buy a whole heap fo cheap HPT's off Ebay, that way you won't feel like you're wasting so much money.

I recommend you test around your due date for AF or after it as its the most accurate then. You can get tests that allow you to test 7 days before your due. I tested with my DD at 9dpo and got a BFP!!

I dont think it was implantation, cramps got so bad late afternoon/evening yesterday I struggled to walk straight - which is exactly what I had for over a week when AF was late a few months ago. And talk about stomach bloat, it's blown up like a balloon - I look about 5 or 6 months pg! :thumbsdown:

I can't beleive implantation would be that painful? :confused:

Today is not as bad but is painful if you press on it, particulary further down.

I am so fed up with my stupid body and hormones - if I get reincarnated I'm coming back as a man! :gloomy:

Ohhh - this is a tough one... We all want someone else to say that its okay to test at 7dpo, or even 10dpo - but the thing is you probably wont get an accurate test reading until 13dpo or 14dpo... Even THEN sometimes your hcG levels can be too low and you still have to wait a few days!

I have fallen into the trap of 'early detection HPT's' and trust me - they're not worth it. Try and hang out until at least 14 dpo before you test...

If you REALLY want to test before hand, then buy the cheapo ebay HPTs from www.fertilitynaturopath.com.au - at least then your not wasting a whole lot of money!!!
