Can anybody reccomend an easy to use sling. Many of the ones I have seen look complicated.

I think they all require a science degree to operate, remember the first time you tried to figure out the carseat? Anyway I've tried every sling known to man and I really like the Nature Sway sling. It goes over one shoulder only and you can breastfeed whilst they're in it. They can lie down to go to sleep and when they get bigger it gives them support under their bum whilst you carry them on your hip and that's good because then you have two hands free.

I love my simple ring sling from CarryingAway (www.carryingaway.com.au). I wish I had got it earlier instead of wasting money on a BubbaSling. It looked confusing from the online instructions but I visited Amanda (who runs Carrying Away) in person and she showed me how to use it. I felt so silly because it is really simple. Where do you live? Can you get someone to give you a demonstration first?

I have several ringslings which I haven't found hard to use. I practiced with a teddy bear when pregnant ;) I have one from http://www.hipbubby.com and these ones http://www.mbeleko.com.au are also really beautiful. Amanda from Carrying Away is lovely and would be eager to help you find the right carrier for you too!

I use the hug a bub and find it good, but becoz i live in darwin, we both get very hot! Esp with the wet season coming, it's now hot and disgustingly sticky sometimes.

I've recently been given a sling as a gift and the website for it is www.babaslings.com, they come in lots of different colors/designs, are easy to use, website has good instructions and my DD (nearly 6 weeks old ) loves it!! Its great for soothing/settling and it makes it easier for me to do things - both at home and out and about. There are lots of times when its easier to put her in the sling rather than drag out the pram!!! Also I like having my hands free esp when I'm shopping etc.
I haven't tried many others, I met a mum at our hosp's baby clinic that had one called 'baby rock' which looked good too.
Good luck and hope you enjoy using a sling, as you can see I've been totally won over by them!! Z :)

I've tried the Babasling but found it difficult to adjust on my own. It also started to get too tiring once bub got bigger. Of all the different ones I've seen, I still like the simple ring sling the best. Ours is made of an organic mesh cotton so is quite open weaved and very cool even in Bali where is was hot and humid.

I use a maya baby wrap. They're really good. Before that I used a baby bjorn carrier (with my oldest, I've used the maya with my younger two) but it wasn't as comfortable and didn't feel as natural as the maya wrap does. Here's their website http://www.mayawrap.com/ Not sure if they still have them, but when I got mine they had videos that showed you how to use the slings easily which was good when I was a sling newbie.

Just wondering if the experienced Ring-Slingers can please give me some hints/tips to comfortable usage.

I've got a Hip Bubby one.

Things like should the material be twisted, most comfy way to carry etc.

Thanks
RB :)

I make sure the ring is down off my shoulder and that the material is spread broadly over my shoulder to distribute the weight evenly. I love ring slings... so adjustable, so many different ways to wear them! They make a great playmat/changemat/picnic rug when you are out at the park too ;)
