Evening Bubhubbers (well actually a reaaaalllly early good morning)

Our little bub which is due today (OMG :freakingout:) is going to be christened / baptised at about 4 weeks of age. It was a last minute decision as we realised how important it is to have ALL of our siblings present - and we have who lives overseas. The date we have is the only date that is convenient for everyone.

So, I've arranged the church at short notice (I think, just waiting on final confirmation :fingerscrossed:) and we know that we will probably go out to Lunch afterwards. There will only be immediate family, i.e siblings, parents, grandparents - under twenty, we aren't even having aunties and uncles attend.

I'd like to do something for our siblings (the godparents) but pregnancy has stolen my creative juices. I don't even know what I 'think' I want. It's quite frustrating. I have been contemplating a poem / speech as to why they have been chosen, but again zero creative juices.

Does anyone have any suggestions, I'm usually really good at this stuff, but just cant make my brain work.

I'm not necessarily looking for a religious way to thank our siblings, but something personal and unique. I know they will play such a major part in our childs life, and I really want to acknowledge how great they all are :cheerleader2:

OK, I've rambled enough........ HELP!!!!!

I'm not good at this stuff either but feel bad you haven't got any replies. Why don't you just do what you said a thank you and speech as to why they ve been chosen and give them all something as a token of the special day. I think being told why they are chosen is beautiful. You ll know what to write cause that should come easy from the heart :)
Good luck Hun im still deciding what to do for ours eeek :)

Oooh and you could print that speech on a scroll and give it to them to keep???

Maybe you could include a list of the qualities each has that you think are special and you hope that they will impart on your child.

A little charm or something symbolic of this would be nice e.g fair/just (a charm of the balance/weights); loyal (a lion or dog charm); love (a heart); positive attitude (sun charm) etc.

A photo of each of them with bubs in a frame in black and white would be equally beautiful.

Thats a great idea!!!
I could get the godmother / godfather frames and I will try and use their very first photo taken with the baby!!! I like the idea of a symbolic charms too!!!!

Yay - I'm getting somewhere.

Also for those people that complain about not getting many replies to posts..... It's all about QUALITY not quantity. Two awesome replies have really helped me on my way!!!!

Giveitago - mind you I replied at 5:20 haha there was not much going on in this brain of mine at that time.
But I also thought of a plaque of some sort even. Say with the reasons why rather than a scroll cause they could see it every day on their dresser. Maybe made of glass?
Love the symbolics idea by sandramum :)

You could also do like a certificate sort of thing? And frame it, saying like God Mother/God Father to *insert baby's name* and write down details of birth etc etc or even a cute key ring with her photo and on the other side something like - I am proud to be a godparent etc?

One other suggestion is getting a pic of bund engraved/lasered onto a keyring, makes a nice keepsake
