This evening DS and I were snuggling and he was having his last breastfeed off the day. He normally just closes his eyes and drifts off. Tonight he pulled off the breast, looked at me straight in my eyes, gave a big sleepy grin and then closed his eyes and drifted to sleep.

It was the most beautiful, perfect moment between mother and baby.

Just wanted to share. :)

Aw. That's really sweet. I love those moments.

I love it when DD is really sleepy after her feed, but she just holds out her hands to me (meaning she wants to touch my face), and then those warm, slightly pudgy hands find my face and you can feel her relax as she drifts off to sleep... I just lie there, gazing into her adorable little face until her hand is so slack that it falls off my face onto the bed. That is, if I haven't drifted off myself...

What better way is there to go to sleep?

Yep, I love falling asleep like this. Oh, sorry, you mean when the baby falls asleep! I know what you mean about the drifting off. I often lay there thinking I'll just shut my eyes while he's feeding and then I'll get up and do those dishes........the dishes are still there!

*warm and fuzzy** shivers down my spine.........so content.

My older son fed untill he was over 3 he would come off give me smile and say night gorgie and snuggle in for the night. He is nine now and still says night gorgie to me before jumping into bed.

Gotta love our gentle loving boobie boys:hugs:

It is beautiful!! I love those little moments, they don't happen very often when they get bigger. Can't wait for the " I love u mummy". I heard a young girl telling her mother that and i actually commented and said, thats so sweet. Lol..

That's beautiful, Cheezlekat! I read that and thought, yep, that's total bliss for a baby and there's nothing better that we can do as mums then give them such beautiful moments. And nothing more rewarding.
