Hi. I have a 5 1/2mth old and was looking at doing some sort of first aid course as I realised I don't know CPR! From what I have been looking at these are not very cheap. Does anyone know somewhere I could do a first aid course (just basics) without it costing me a fortune. In the end I am going to have to do one for the safety of my little boy but money is an issue. I found one that does a seminar in your own home but you need a min of 5 people and it works out cheaper ($35 per person as opposed to about $100 to go to a workshop). If anyone is interested in maybe doing a seminar let me know.

Thanks

Hi ya, I got it through St John. It's tax deductible for me because I’m one of the fire wardens in my office. You should try the community colleges, sometimes they have this sort of course and its free (if you are entitled that is as it’s sponsored by Centrelink)

Hope this helps :)

I'd be happy to do a shourt course, $35 sounds fine - especially if it one day saves my baby! My SIL is due in a couple of months, so I guess she'd be in too. I'm happy to have it at my place. :)

Our hospital offered a free intro type baby first aid course. I didn't attend because I've already done a St John's Ambulance first aid course (must remember to update it though) and think that they're well worth the money. Hopefully you'll never need to use the info but if you do...
