Thought I would share a little story about our recent conjunctivitis bout in our household. DS#2 was easy to treat, just a squirt of booby milk in each eye a couple of times and voila-all better. DS#1-now that was where it got tricky. How to convince him that mummy's booby milk would fix it! This is how the story went.
Off to the bathroom I went, to get some 'proper' eye medicine. he seemed happy as I left to do this. Behind closed doors I quickly expressed about 5 ml, put it in a syringe, and back to DS#1's bedroom where I administered the 'proper' medicine into his eyes! Two treatments and all gone! He said afterwards, "Mummy, Hamish could have that medicine when he gets bigger too."
Ah...the magical healing properties of breast milk.....................:yelclap: :yelclap:

  So gorgeous!!
I expect that while 4-month old Ariene would be fine with a good squirt of booby milk in her eyes, 2 year old Ronan might be a little freaked out :D :p
Yay for boobie milk!:yelclap:

Off the top of my head....good for minor cuts and scrapes. It actually changes composition throughout a feed and also as baby grows and has changing needs. The foremilk is thirst quenching and watery, then the middle, the foody stuff, and then the hindmilk-all the good fattening creamy stuff. It really is amazing stuff!

That is a brilliant way to do it! I'll keep that in mind when DS is older, for sure.
I use boobie milk on every ailment DS has, and when I got a bad cat scratch, I squirted milk on it too :D Is there anything it can't do? (apart from giving me the ever lasting packet of tim tams!)

Sure is great stuff! That was the only benefit DD1 got from my milk... she had gunky eyes when she was a few days old and I would squirt a little milk in them a couple times a day only for about 2 days and it was gone. But then I had to make my milk dry up so we had to use saline instead...not as good but still works.

Hi,
I've used Breastmilk on sticky eyes, nappy rash, little burns or cuts and blocked nose with a cold. And my older son had a shocking tonsilitis one day he was 7ish so I gave him a glass of cold fresh squeezed EBM to drink and swill around worked like a charm.
This Kellymom (http://www.kellymom.com/health/illness/healing-breastmilk.html)s list of uses.

I use it for lots of ailments- my kids ask for it now to put on their cuts and bruises- it's very cute!
I've used it on Cobey's eyes too! (although it did need some drops.. I think that was because my aim was out.. or something to do with his tear duct not fully formed just yet) I've been thinking of giving him some squirts up his nose as he gets a bit snuffly lately :D
One of my friends uses her boobie milk as pimple 'cream' on herself !! (no need for that face mask, pinkie!)

My 7yo DD has really bad conjunctivitis at the moment, but I'm not a breastfeeder. I am, however, 19wks pregnant.....and have plenty of colostrum. Do you think this would have similar healing properties?? :o
(I just don't want to gross her out for no reason!! ;) )
