New to Brisbane from nz wanting to make friends

Hi my name is Amie and my family and i movied from ch ch to brisbane in nov 2010 i have two boys Jayden is 10 and Jesse is 19 months. We love it here but the only prob for me is i have no friends!! im a Stay at home mum and really missing grown up talk lol. I find it funny posting a "add" for friends but im really going out of my mind. My family and i love weekend BBQs and haveing a drink and a laugh. looking forward to hearing from other mums in the same boat or even ones that have lots of friends to share.:celebrate:

Have you looked to see if there is a mother and baby group near to you?
Have a look at the maternal heath clinic they might have some mother and baby groups you could join. I hope you find some one to share a cuppa with soon.

I am also a kiwi from chch. Have been here since '97. I live not far from you. We love to socialise over food and wine with like minded, family oriented people. I have two young daughters and was an older mother, now 48. Using a forum is also new to me.:wave:

I know it's an old post, but I thought I'd reply anyway. I'm a Mum of three 10yr, 2yr & 9moths from ChCh as well and moved over in 2008 and I know it can be tuff to meet like minded people. Not sure if you've heard of this but I take my girls to playschool in Acacia Ridge on a Wednesday. It runs from 9:30-11:30 Tues, Wed & Fri. There's outdoor play and indoor play, painting, playdough, crafts etc, it's $10 week and it only runs during the school term. It's a great place to meet other Mums and there's a couple of Kiwi Mums that go as well, so maybe we'll see you there. :cheerleader1:
