Hi there ...
I found that I was having this just after my shower , in the evening ...
Now , I just don't wear anything on my legs after my shower . They just "breath" , otherwise the contact with ANY pieces of material drives me :banghead:
I put Sorbolene on my legs every 2 two days so the sky doesn't dry too much , which I think does not help for the itch to have a dry skin ...
Hope that helps.
her are some tips as my last 2 p/gs had that prob have a bath with baby oil make sure its not hot as this will make you feel worse and i used baby sorb as its lighter also you can use paw paw cream just melt it down in the microwave and let it cool a little before using it hope this helps you but when you have bubs it will go

I had it too. It's awful, isn't it?! :hugs:
The only thing I found that helped was ice packs. I had an ice pack permanently strapped to my stomach - luckily we were having a heat wave at the time!!
You could also try an anti-itching oil. Palmers does one, I got mine in Priceline. It helped a little bit, but not as much as the ice packs.
It is supposed to get better after birth, but mine in actual fact got terribly worse!! Thankfully my Dr was able to prescribe a mild cortisone cream (1%) and it cleared it up within 48 hours - much to my immense relief!!
I sooooooooooooooooooo...................... hope I don't get it this time!!!

hello,
Just wondering apart from the scratches from all the itching do you have a rash. Pupps actually comes with a rash. I have a condition in my pregnancy called Cholestasis. It makes you itchy everywhere and you have no rash. I had it in my last pregnancy and the only reason I got diagnosed was because my mother had it when she was pregnant with me and when I told her I was itchy she said to ask the doctor about Cholestasis. Alot of doctors have never dealt with this condition in Australia as it is not really a common one. You will need a blood test of your bile acids and liver function. Good luck. I am currently 29 weeks and itching like mad. But they can give you medication to help with this condition and is suggested that if this is what you have than you deliver no later than 36-37 weeks.
Another way to briefly check is too drink only water for 12-24 hours and if your urine is still dark than this is also a sign.
Good Luck

I’ve had a whole lot of blood test on my liver and things and everything there is normal.
So pupps is the only thing they can put it down to.
I do get and occasional rash
Hi,
I had a PUPPPs and had a huge rash all over my stomach and breasts that was so itchy. It started in my third trimester and I ended up having to take cortisone tablets to get rid of it. They were called Panafacortelone and the dosage was titrated (started with big dose then gradually reduced). I had to have a couple of courses of it because it came back a couple of times (including after I'd given birth which apparently isn't meant to happen). You will need to get a prescription from your Ob. This was the only thing that got rid of my rash. The one other thing that really helps is to put Mylanta liquid on the rash - it is amazingly cooling and calms the itching. I hope you can get rid of it - I still remember the itching -it was horrible. Good luck.
Cath
I was googling puppps and the first site had this as a suggested cure
1. clean the sites with Hydrogen Peroxide to get rid of any bacteria and to dry the sites out.
2. use a 1/2 and 1/2 mixture of Caladryl ( calamine lotion) and Benedryl Extra Strength Gel. Spread it all over each site.
3. when the sites are dry, rub baby powder or medicated powder on them to seal the mixture in and to dry out any moisture.
I have a rash that's started this morning on my right boob, I'm hoping it's just an insect bite and not puppps.:banghead:
Good luck

Cath, I would never have thought about using Mylanta on it! Geez, I tried everything else!!
I tried copious amounts of calamine lotion to no avail (much to our annoyance, as my DH & I searched high & low for it, apparently it is very difficult to find now for some reason.... ) I wonder if it would have made a difference using it with the other things as Sarahg suggested?
Sarahg, did the rash you mentioned start within stretch marks? PUPPPS is characterised by starting inside your stretch marks. If not, then you should be fairly safe!
I also found this link (http://members.optushome.com.au/westhoff/puppp/Gallery/index.htm) which shows photos of women suffering from PUPPPS. It definitely brought back some horrible memories!! Ooh! I feel all itchy now!!
Here is another good article (http://dermatology.about.com/cs/pregnancy/a/puppp.htm)that describes PUPPPS really well. Unfortunately I tend to disagree with the duration & severity of it, as mine was far worse than the way they describe it, but perhaps mine was a severe case? I actually don't know, as the Dr I saw for it (not my regular Dr) had never heard of PUPPPS.

It lasts an average of 6 weeks and resolves spontaneously 1 to 2 weeks after delivery. The most severe itching normally lasts for no more than 1 week.
i've been itching for longer than 6 weeks!
the problem with that sarahg i work full time in retail and have to deal with the public all day long and i itch all day long :(
i could do that when i get home after 6.
all i keep thinking to myself is 12 weeks to go and the it'll go away (i hope)
i also said to my DP if this happenes again in the next pregnancy im not having anymore than 2 babies!!
