Dating Confusion?

Hi All!


I am sure I am having a brain fart moment however I don't quite understand what my sonographer means when dating my pregnancy.

My last scan was Thursday 10/02/2011 and I was 9 weeks and 3 days. What confused me was the day portion. Does that mean I would of been 10 Weeks on Monday 14th or Tuesday 15th. I wasn't sure if she meant the 3 days didnt included the first (9 weeks, 9 weeks 1 day, 9 weeks 2 days etc) so was technically 4 days or the 3 days include the first day (ie 9 week 1 day, 9 week 2 day)?

Well I've officially confused myself writing this, so if you can decipher it and give me some advise that would be wonderful.

I've always thought it as 9 completed weeks and 3 completed days (including whatever day it is currently) so you were 10 completed weeks on Mon 14th. Tues 15th was then the start of your 11th week (10 completed weeks and 1 completed day) and your due date is the last day of your 40th week.

Yeah, it goes 9(+0), 9+1, 9+2, 9+3 --> 9+6, then 10 weeks. So you were 10 weeks on Monday the 14th, or 11 weeks tomorrow ... getting closer to the end of the 1st trimester :)

Thanks so much! Mum and I thought it was that way but my bestie decided to tell me it was the other way and then I was mighty confused!
