Clomid side affects?

I know there is a long list on the leaflet information but I wondered what main side affects people get from Clomid.

My first cycle I had none, I was told to take it just before going to bed which apparently is best because any affects that come on happen while you are asleap..

..however I am on day 4 (take the 4th tonight) and i have a bit of a headache and over the last couple of days I have had a real metallicy taste in my mouth (mainly aroundmy teeth if that makes any sence).. its quite strange... and im sure its getting worse... I dont think I had it before the Clomid this round..

Has anyone else had this side affect?

I know its a side affect of pregnancy but I got my period, even though it was light and my last HPT at about 15dp(suspected)o date (AF came 16dpo) was a BFN?

Hey chicky,

As you know i had MASSIVE headaches while i was taking it, but i seemed to get mine at night, and i was taking the tablets in the morning.
I had thought to take them at night but didnt want a headache to spring on my first thing in the morning.
I also thought i had a bit of a metallic taste, but it wasn't there all the time, foods just sorta taste metallic if that makes any sense.

Take another HPT to be on the safe side if you think you could possibly by pregnant, but surely your FS would have picked that up when you went for your first visit this cycle???

The main side effects that I had when on clomid were terrible mood swings I just felt as though I had absolutly no control and also terrible pimples on my back (gross I know) Other then that I was fine, although im sure if you aksed DP he would tell you a completly diffrent story poor man.

I started my first cycle on clomid and had very bad headaches and feeling nausea on the first night and also headaches and mood swings also very tired. Hopefully I will fall pregnant and not have to take another round of tablets, I couldn't wait to finish them. Oh also I still get hot flushes mainly at night. All fun and games!

I also got hot flushes..... had to stick my head in the freezer :o That was the only symptom though, so I can't complain! :D

Well luck has to be on my side for something, absolutely postively no side effects whatsoever for me.:thumbsup:
Nicole E, if that metallic taste is there in a few more weeks that is a really common pregnancy symptom, you'll be hoping for it then. LOL!

lol, I know Lissy, I want any symptom if it means its morning sickness... just remind me I said that when I do get it! :laughing:

I went to the FS this morning for the 1st cycle follow up and asked him. He said it isnt a common side affect but it can affect people in different ways. He knew the last AF was light (and said it varys from person to person so thats no worry at all) and he didnt mention anything else... i didnt want to bring up the possibility of being pregnant, i didnt want to sound like a complete deperado clinging to any little sign of pregnancy - even after AF! (I'll keep that behaviour for the TWW!:D )

I dont want to give you any false hopes but i have to tell you may story.......
TTC #1 on clomid 50 mg from day 2 to day 6. First cycle i had no side effects at all. Day 12 had my inturnal to see if i had follicals, i had 3 small ones, day 21 had Progestrone blood test, came back lower than it should have been, so out of the race for #1 cycle.
Cycle 2 100mg of clomid from day 2 to day 6. No sideeffects at all (thought it wasnt working, ringing up every couple of days to see what i was doing wrong:rolleyes: ) Went in day 12 for internal and i had no follicalls NOT ONE:eek: and Dr didnt order the day 21 blood test because this cycle had failed..........
So i went home cryed my little eyes out and decided to give it a break, because i was too scared to take the highest dose,150mg. So i thought ill try to loose some weight to see if that helped.... Anyway bought day 25 - 26 from memory, sure enough i got all the cramps like blasted AF was comming.... Day 27 i got a light period for three days and that was that (My AF's are usually like that). Wasnt till about 10 days later i was on clinical for my nursing training and nearly fell A over T, from the worst head spin i had ever had ever experienced, all the girls i was with said "OH your pregnant" But i there was no way i could have been.
So i wont bore you any longer with this long story...... But yes i was pregnant and to this day i still dont know how i guess i must have ovulated before day twelve...Hence there was no follicals:ecomcity: What im saying is maybe do a test and just see......:wave:

well i did another test just to be safe and it was another BFN...

I guess it must be the Clomid then. I did google it and found about 2 other people had written about a metallic taste. Perhaps it can be a side affect but just not comon enough to include it in the standard stated ones.
