Hi everyone. I stumbled across this site today while cruising the net for gossip :o (sad I know!). I found it interesting and thought bubhub bf'ers might find it interesting (and maybe inspiring). It's a list of famous women who have breastfed. Here's the list, but I'll also post the link in case anyone wants to take a closer look.

Luciano Pavarotti and Mirella Freni were born in Modena, Italy in 1935, eight months apart. They shared a wet nurse, as their mothers both worked in the same cigarette factory.

* These women are or did breastfeed for an extended (normal) period of time. These were known for certain. Do not know the length of time for everyone else. Connie Selleca sent a letter to LLLI within the past year.

** Jane Seymour did a commercial for a hair color with her twins. She was holding the twins and bottlefeeding. Wouldn't it have been great to see her nursing them instead?

** Kathie Lee mentioned on Dave Letterman that she was weaning her baby (I think it was her youngest who was 6wks-8wks at the time), so she could fit into her gown for the Miss America pageant.

How wonderful to read something about 'celebrities' that has such a positive impact. 99.9 % of what is written about these people is utterly irrelevant to the rest of the world-as in it's really none of our business. Now if we can just get some of these women to publicly endorse breastfeeding and as the OP said, physically breastfeed for commercials, maybe we can influence a whole bunch of women to breastfeed and/or continue breastfeeding. Imagine that!!!!
Thanks for posting these lists, girls!

Thanks for that, it's very interesting. It's good to see that the celebrities that choose a time and date to have their childeren can do something natural. IYKWIM

Can anyone confirm that Bec Hewitt has been breastfeeding? That's the impression I got from the few things I have read (never have been one for pouring over women's mags  )

She would be a great ambassador for breastfeeding if she is. Since Women's Day, or whichever magazine it is, is so interested in following little Mia's life, surely breastfeeding could squeeze in a bit of publicity there too.

In fact, wouldn't it be good if she was snapped breastfeeding at Wimbledon or something. Now there's an idea. Anyone have her email address?...

Hmm, I think she was, although I can't confirm it. She definitely had much larger breasts than before her pregnancy!:p Also, she's written a few things in her Woman's Day column that would indicate she's breastfeeding (although I'm not sure if she is still BF or not).
