Formula with probiotics & hypoallergenic

I am breastfeeding my lovely little 7 week old daughter and would like to have some formula available for those occasions when I need to have her babysat because she is feedinig every 2 hours and I am having difficulty expressing enough to build up a frozen supply.

I read in 'Baby Love' about a formula that has probiotics and is hypoallergenic. The author said this one is good for those who are breastfeeding and using formula on occasion only. I was hoping you could tell me which brand makes this formula and where it can be purchased.

Nan HA is hypoallergenic and has probiotics.

I have used it for my 2 DS's who were breastfed mainly. We were recommended to use it by are paed because DS1 had food allergies. Although it is not recommended for children allergic to cows milk.

Dear Katyjane,

I must admit that I am not familiar with the specific formula you are referring to. There are many ‘specialty’ formulas on the market including organic, hypo allergenic, anti reflux, probiotic, supplemented, lactose free, soy…… and many of these are readily available in supermarkets or chemists.

It may be best to contact a paediatric dietitian or talk to your chemist about the brand of the formula you are looking for – even if it’s not on the pharmacy shelf, it may be able to be ordered for you.
