Do I need to buy nappies to take to the hospital for new born? What brand is good?

My hospital gave us 1 nappy straight after she was born, then we needed our own. Your hospital should have a pamphlet telling you what you need to take and what they will supply. I used huggies when my DD was first born but now I prefer baby love, but everyone has a different opinion!
Our hospital supplied nappies for our stay. We used huggies until DS about a month ago when I switched to babylove as well. Huggies newborn were fab but as DS grew, huggies started to fit kinda weird. He was in toddler size at 6 months. WTF?!
I've also tried pampers & loved them but the ones I liked you can only get online & they're just as exy as huggies.
Other ladies on here rave about aldi. I haven't tried them as we don't have an aldi near us. You can get samples off a few companies as well.

My hospital didn't supply nappies but I know private well all I have every know, supply all nappies through out the whole stay!!
I prefer huggies, but like princess mum said everyone is different, I think it must have something to do with babies shape or something!! We tried babylove but the leaked like crazy my best friend had a baby same time as us who loved baby love!! I also really liked snugglers (not too sure if they have newborn though!)

Gold Coast requires you to supply your own.
Pack enough for your intended stay (4 hour discharge, overnight etc...), if you end up having to stay in longer than intended, it's not hard to get someone to bring more in from home.
DH brought in DSs nappies daily, even though we knew I'd be there longer than most women, or I would've had to have had a whole box there and I had enough stuff as it was.
I too tried Huggies first, but Baby Love worked better for DS.
Don't overstock on nappies, I'd only get a small packet of your chosen brand. I have a collection of nappies from DS that we never used because the fit wasn't right and he was leaking all over his visitors. I'm going to try them on DD when she arrives, but will only 'buy' one packet of nappies, just in case they aren't right for her.

Logan provided nothing. I brought about 10 nappies and way under-estimated how many a newborn uses! I love Huggies and Cruisers.
