View Full Version : IVF babies due Oct/Nov/Dec 2011
Hello all!! I've been waiting and WAITING for a new thread to start with Oct/Nov/Dec this year.... So I decided to start one myself. I'm really wary about posting here already, as I'm prone to miscarriage, but while I'm pregnant, I'm going to enjoy every second of it! I had my ET on 26th Jan, so I'm just over 4 weeks at the moment. My FS is sending me for weekly BTs to make sure everything is going smoothly and so he can do something quickly if he notices something wrong. My viability scan is on Monday 28th Feb. Usually I start bleeding the week before the scan. So :fingerscrossed: everything goes smoothly for me this time. I'll start up a roll call, feel free to add yourself, or just lurk around until you are past your safe point. Can't wait to get chatting with you all! Oh and... CONGRATULATIONS on your pregnancy :celebrate:

Fetus Beads - BT 14/2, 1st ultrasound 21/2
While I have had a miscarriage at 12 weeks (day before I was supposed to have my first ultrasound) (natural BFP) and an ectopic (natural BFP) before, and I am absolutely petrified something is not going to be right with this one - I am symptomless, perhaps a little tired but that is it :freakingout:. I am supposed to go for my 7 week scan on 21/2 but I think I am going to try to get the clinic to give my my first scan at 6 weeks, tomorrow, to see if everything is in the right place when I go for my blood test. Going to be one messed up V Day if something isn't right but I need to know. For something absolutely positive to do I have decided to add myself in here. :)
Although I am now preggas I thought the worry would go away a little, I am finding this far more stressful than when I was cycling...... By the way  Nat84

Ally, AKA Fetus Beads.
Hi Fetus Beads! Congratulations :celebrate: And welcome :D
Yes, totally understand what you mean. I've had 2 full miscarriages, and 2 chemical pregnancies. With the M/C, around a week before my first scan I'd start bleeding. The first one was a blighted ovum, the second one I saw a baby with a heartbeat, but my cervix was already 2cm dilated and I lost it 2 days later. So I am nervous as all hell. I was considering getting a scan done this week too, as my first scan is still 15 whole days away!!! I'm driving my poor DP nuts already.
I've got a few symptoms. Extremely sore boobs, really tired and extra hungry. I've had some cramping on and off and some sharp twinges every now and then (like when I sneeze, or move quickly etc). I will be happy and accept that I'm pregnant after the first scan. If I make it there with no bleeding I'll be relieved.
Its funny how I told myself that I'd be alright when I got pregnant, like I wouldn't stress anymore, but this stress is way WORSE than before I was even pregnant.
I've got a BT tomorrow too, then the Monday after as well so they can monitor me a little closer, but I won't find out tomos BT results until Tuesday as I'm going in the afternoon after work. :fingerscrossed: That both our BT results are great!!!
Well my BT on Monday was great. HCG jumped to 4624, and progesterone was 121. I begged my GP for a referral for an earlier U/S and he VERY reluctantly gave me one. So now I'm having a scan this coming Monday, and the following Monday...
Crossing EVERYTHING that this bub is where its supposed to be!
 Ladies,
Here's another to add to your thread. I too am terrified to post so early but then I thought why not.
My first blood test was Friday, hcg 470 (11 dpd5t) and my hcg level today (14dpd5t) 1390, my P level is 121.2 I have my first scan this Friday.
Nat, SNAP, I also have MTHFR and also had a miscarriage caused by a blighted ovum. I was just devastated. I also have NK cells.
I feel so terribly anxious, my heart is in a knot, I want to enjoy being pregnant but I am filled with worry, I know Fetus Beads and Nat you can understand having miscarriages before, our happiness can be taken from us so quickly. All we can do is just take one day at a time and today we are all pregnant :smiliedance::celebrate:
My EDD is Wednesday 26th October. Sorry I don't know how to add to your list Nat, I haven't done this before.
How exciting to have a thread, I look forward to all the other newcomers soon to arrive.

Hi. Congrats on your BFPs!
My dates are the same as Nats. FET on Jan 26 and first u/s on 28 Feb. I had been trying naturally for 3 years, all fertility test results ok except very mild endo found. First IVF with IVFA in Syndey City in Nov 10 went well but still BFN. First FET in Jan I finally got my BFP!!
I too am worried about miscarriage after waiting this long to get pregnant. However I have to say i dont miss the stress of trying to get pregnant. I have always thought of myself as very capable yet really could not handle the IVF ups and downs and I really have to take my hat off to the strong women who go through multiple cycles.
I have a really stupid question though, but when my FS phoned to say I had a BFP they gave me my due date and the date for my first scan. I was just waiting for my scan but now I am not sure if I was supposed to go back to my normal GP and book in with an ob etc? When do you do this?
Its good to hear from others as I have not told anyone except my DH of course. I used to follow some of your posts in the last couple of months so I feel as though I know you (weird I know) and I am so pleased for you. Take care

Aaahhh so THIS is where you all are.. hello!! Just adding myself to this list in desperate hope that I might still be pg after the massive blood clot I passed this morning. Since I started bleeding on Sunday I had BTs yesterday and today, and will insist on one tomorrow. Had an u/s yesterday which showed what could be a tiny sac, and the BT result from yesterday was fine. But today might be a different story.
Anyway nice to see you in here and good luck and :babydust1: everyone!
(Edited to change the date of my next ultra-sound, just been brought forward a week.)
Hi ladies, sorry to gate crash your thread..but I just wanted to congratulate you all on your pregnancies and for starting up the thread! I know it can seem really scary at the beginning to talk about and write about but you will all give each other support!
Just to let you know, it does get easier...I too thought that once I got my BFP that the stresses would disappear but in the first trimester I think we all stress so much about making sure bubs is ok !! stress about symptoms/lack of symptoms/bleeding,spotting/the next scan/levels etc. It's perfectly normal and I remember in our thread we all started off the same..wary and worried!! It does get easier.
PinkRoses- I was told to book an OB as soon as you can (I did this at 4weeks) this is because they are often so busy so it's best to get in early. Just get a referral from your GP. Usually the clinic you are with will see you til 8-12 weeks of your pregnancy and if you book in with an OB without a GP referral your clinic can give you a referral but it is only valid for 3 months so you will still have to see your GP after to get a 12month referral. Hope this helps!
anyway, Good luck to you all with your pregnancies..exciting times ahead!! xx
Hello everyone!! Yay we have newbies :p
Hayls70 - Thankyou for your support. I really hope it gets easier... At the moment it just seems like a lifetime of waiting and hoping.
Calicious - Ohhh its scary isn't it. I had a big bleed last night and passed a huge blood clot, but had been told a few hours earlier that I have a "subchorionic haematoma". I'm desperately hoping it was just that coming out, and I've had no bleeding since. I had a scan yesterday and they saw the sac which is measuring 5w6d (Should have been 6w1d) but 2 days isn't a huge difference. Oh and they also saw the fetal pole. My BT results yesterday were great and I'm having another BT tomo. Fingers crossed for the both of us!
Catfroggy - You sound the same as me! I've had a few M/C myself, but I don't want to hang around waiting to join in. So thats why I started the thread so early  I'm determined to enjoy every minute of this, regardless of the outcome.
Pink Roses - Congrats on your BFP! I wouldn't worry about going to the GP. Just hang out till your scan, and make an appt with your FS after the scan. He/She will explain everything you need to do after that!
Ladymoz - Welcome!! I'll add you :) Are you on anything for your MTHFR? I've never met anyone with it before. I was convinced I had NK cells too, but the BT showed up negative for them. If I happen to miscarry again though I'm going to DEMAND the NK cell biopsy. Did you have the BT or the biopsy?
Well.... AFM.....
I had a scan yesterday. The gestational sac measured 5w6d, just 2 days behind what it should have been. They saw a "nubbin" of tissue which is the fetal pole. And also a SUBCHORIONIC HAEMATOMA. I panicked (of course) and went straight to my FS, who told me to "sit tight" and wait for my proper scan next week. I'm thinking maybe the ultrasound place didn't have high tech equipment as the pics I've got aren't very close up at all. Anyway, I got home and went to the toilet and there was some bright red blood when I wiped :freakingout:. Completely freaked out and went to bed. No more bleeding until 12.30am this morning, I woke up and there was heavy bleeding and I passed a large clot. I put a pad on and went back to bed. Theres been no bleeding since then, just some watery brown discharge. I'm desperately hoping I passed the haematoma, and thats what the big clot was. So I have to have another BT tomo to check my levels. Yesterdays BT was great, HCG was 17800, and Prog was 93.6. So just got to take it easy and hang in there....
I really hope there will be a positive end to all of this :fingerscrossed::fingerscrossed::fingerscrossed::f ingerscrossed::fingerscrossed:

Hi Ladies, writing this from iPhone so if someone could add me that would be great.
BT was 122 (13dp3dt) on the 16th US is not book until the 10th when I will be 7w3d (according to my calculations) it worries me a little that FS is not scanning me/us till then.
Morning sickness has kicked in, well I should say afternoon sickness. I get it worse in the afternoons. But at the same time it started I started getting bad pelvic cramping. I am still on progestrian pesseries, so was wondering if you ladies think I should be concerned or is this right?
Calicious I am so terribly sorry for your loss honey. No words will make you feel better. I just hope in time you find the strength to get "back on the horse" I wish you and your DH all the best. :hugs:
Nat, sorry to hear about the haematoma  glad it's passed, your levels look fantastic :cheerleader1: For the MTHFR my fs found I had this after I had the m/c. She has me on Mega B, Megafol, Cartia as well as the awful Clexane injections, just to cover all bases. In regards to my nk cells, my fs did a biopsy, ouchy wa wa that hurts, it was worth it though, I am currently on 20mg of prednisone. The great thing about prednisone is that is keeps :barf: at bay which I look forward to.
I am addicted to squeezing my (.)(.) to make sure I still have the pregnancy symptoms. I am just so scared to lose the signs, although I have been on Dr. google and found its normal to have pregnancy symptoms come and go. The only other symptoms, when I get hungry it hits me straight away, there is no lead up. I am going to the loo a lot more, especially during the middle of the night which I never do.
:bigwelcome: to the newbies, it's nice to see Nat's thread she started is growing.
I am 5 weeks today and it's amazing to know that at 5 weeks the baby's heart is 3/4 of the way formed and it will begin beating next week. :cantbelieveit:
:flowerz: Take care everyone xxx
Gee it's quiet on our little thread. :p I just noticed some more success stories on February's 2WW thread so hopefully we will have some more newbies soon.
I just wanted to share my news with you. I went for my scan today, I am 5 weeks and 3 days and there are 2 gorgeous little sacks, I couldn't believe it.
Twins :crib::crib:
Next step is to check for 2 beautiful heart beats on the 7th February :fingerscrossed::fingerscrossed:
I am excited but it is very overwhelming being told you could be having twins. I am only 53 kilo's, how on earth will they fit in my tiny frame. I better start eating A LOT more :D I've struggled eating breakfast the last 3 days, no wonder, the prednisone is only keeping one lot of hormones at bay, now being told I have 2 is probably why I have been feeling off in the morning.
I look forward to hearing everyone's latest news.
:hugs:
Hello all!
Sorry I've been MIA, just got alot going on with this. I don't know whats happening anymore..... Since the last time I posted, I haven't had any bleeding at all. But my HCG dropped from 17800 to 16400 or something like that. I thought it was all over, but my FS called me and told me that while the HCG drop certainly isn't a good thing, its not all over just yet. I've still got to go for my 7 week scan on Monday, and if theres going to be a heartbeat, there should definitely be one by then. I don't have my hopes up at all, I can't get let down again. But a part of me is desperately hoping for some sort of miracle. I can't go through another miscarriage, I just can't.
Ladymoz - That is EXCELLENT news!!! :celebrate: TWINNYS!!! How awesome!!! I am so over the moon for you, its great to hear some great news!! Did you have 2 embryos transferred, or was this a complete shock?
Neecoleg - YAY!! Congrats on your BFP :smiliedance: Sending you lots of :babydust1: for a happy, healthy pregnancy! In regards to the cramps, I was getting crampy, not in terrible pain though. And every so often I would get a sharp pain down my right side, and sometimes on both sides when I sneezed. Apparently its just my ligaments stretching.
Calicious - Honey I am so sorry for your loss. Its a horrible thing to have to go through. :hugs::hugs::hugs: To you and your DP. I hope you take some time to do something nice for yourself. I'm going to add a Angel Bubbas section on my roll call. We can't forget the ones that were too good for this world :(

Thanks Nat84u, the pelvic pain has eased a bit in the last few days.
Not a happy day yesterday. I have crohns disease, I had a major bowel op a few years ago and as a result I can't absorb b12. I generally get injections every 2-3 months, went to the GP yesterday I he said we would not give it to me unless I have consulted my GI and the surgan who did the op.
B12 is apparently classed as a class B2 medication, this means that not enough women had had it throughout pregnancy for then to know if it is safe.
My concern the that B12 is vital for baby development. And I suffer anxiety when I am low. Surely the benefits out way the risks.
Will call the specialists on Monday and see what they say.
Just popping in to wish Nat all the best for today :goodluck:
:babydust1::babydust2:
It's bad news I'm afraid, I'll be leaving you guys :-(
My baby is gone and my uterus is full of blood clots. The same thing happens every time I miscarry. I'm seeing my FS tomorrow afternoon and I'm hoping he has some helpful suggestions.
I'll still be checking in now and then if it's not too painful for me. I truly hope each and every one of you have a happy and healthy bubba growing away.
I'm so sorry Nat84u, that totally sucks. :hugs2: I was just lurking on here (I am approx 6.5 weeks pregnant but have had bleeding and very low HCG levels so still touch and go) and I wasn't going to post but really want to pass on my sympathies.
I'm so so terribly sorry for your loss Nat. :hugs2: I had everything crossed for you, I'm sorry it wasn't enough. It's just heartbreaking to hear.
I hope tomorrow your fs can give you hope with some solutions to fix this problem.

Ladymoz it's just you and me at the moment. Let's hope some of the BFP that I have seen in the FebTWW thread join us soon.
How have you been, hope your little jelly beans is treating you well. Today I discovered I can't eat tomatoes or drink lemon squash.
Hi Neecoleg
Yes it just seems like you and me here. I have been stalking the February 2WW thread (as I was following all the girls when I was in my 2WW but didn't post) and there have been some success stories on there. Where are these pregnant girlies
I am feeling great thanks. I have lots of pregnancy symptoms but hey I am so NOT complaining. Every failed cycle I was looking for these signs so I love it personally, it reminds me that I am pregnant even though its far too early to see any baby (or babies in my case) belly. :froggy: I am bloated though but that will just be from the meds.
I am 6 weeks tomorrow :cheerleader1: at the halfway mark until we can tell family and friends. My DH and I decided not to tell family this time as when I was pregnant we told both sides not to tell anyone until I had the all clear and they blabbed to everyone. So when I had the m/c people were coming up and congratulating me, it was just awful and I would burst out :crying:
It's funny that you say you can no longer eat tomatoes or drink lemon squash, I wonder how much worse you will get. At this stage I just want bland food and can't eat mince  I feel sick just typing "mince" yuck yuck yuck My DH and I went to the markets Saturday morning and the smell of all the food put me over the edge. We just laughed as its still so early, we were imaging what's yet to come

luvmybub - congrats on your BFP. Except for sore (.)(.)... I have no symptoms at all. I had a second BT yesterday and they told me that all my levels were rising nicely and everything seems to be very good. Some of us have a lots of symptoms and others don't. For my 1st pregnancy (18 years ago!!!) I had 0 symptoms, no m/s, no sore boobs... I consider myself being one of the lucky one:D. So just relax and enjoy

Welcome all. Hope we have a great 8 months or so together.
Luvmybub - don't be to concerned. I didnt get any symptoms until very recent but now they have hit full force.
Speckled - congrates on the BFP, hope your 2 little bubs go easy on you.
Lyninthesun (Caz) - welcome to bubhub. It is really good to bounce questions and emotions off others going through similar things. Each of our stories are different but we are all here to help. Congrates on your BFP.
AFM - well I am hoping the my little peanut gas settled in nice and tight other wise I have some wrong with me LOL. Morning sickness started late last week, but I get it in the afternoon. Then today it has been hard to keep any food down. But apart from that and being tired (got home from work today and fell asleep, didn't realize I had until DP got home and closed the bedroom door for me) I have been feeling great. Very excited and looking forward to the coming months.
Yayyy neecoleg and I have some pregnant friends yippy
Welcome lovelies and congratulations to all :celebrate:
Caz - I am only a newbie at posting too. I have however been a stalker for a few years now following the poor responder thread :D
Speckled - Twins, congratulations. At my last scan my fs found 2 sacks, the next scan is the heartbeat scan which is next Monday, I will be just under 7 weeks. I am 6 weeks today so that means if we are both having twins we will be due around the same time. Yippy someone else to compare notes to having :crib::crib: too. I bet you had the same reaction when your fs told you that there were 2 bubs. My DH and I were elated although $hit scared. The first picture that popped into my head was my DH and I watching tv on the couch each holding a precious angel in our arms  Awww too cute but I won't be forgetting double the workload, double to cost although... double the love!!
luvmybub08 - This is a difficult time hun. For my first pregnancy I had no symptoms at all except for a bit of implantation spotting then not much until I was about 5 weeks. With this pregnancy I am medicated to the max, and also (at this stage) have 2 bubs which I think is giving me double the symptoms. With all my ivf attempts I had AF cramps and got BFFN with this attempt I had the AF cramps again and thought it was all over. Just hang in there babe, only time will tell unfortunately. We just have to hang onto hope, faith and love and pray an awful lot.
Catfroggy - 18 years ago being preggers, I hope this pregnancy is as uneventful for you.
neecoleg - I know what you mean about the tiredness. I have been having lots of nanna naps where possible which is very unlike me.
AFM - only 5 more sleeps until my DH and I get confirmation of twins. I'm just praying with all my might that these bubbies are ok and growing strong :babydust1:

luvmybub08 No pregnancy symptoms for me either (5wks). This was actually my first transfer with no bloating or cramping & our 1st BFP. So who knows. Are you having another bt?
I'm a little annoyed with my clinic went for my 1st bt on the 21st Feb 12dp4dt they rang me to say yep your pregnant your HCG levels are 320 stay on all meds & we'll see you in 3 weeks for your 1st scan, I asked if I was to have another bt but they said no. ggrrr would really liked to know if everything is progressing as it should.
Sorry for my vent I hope your all having a great day & starting to feel pregnant.

Neecoleg-when u say recent-how recent??I'm desperate for any sign!
Ladymoz-twins!oh u are soooooooooooo lucky!how come they let u tf two?my clinic said no way!
Caz-r u wt sivf?they weren't giving me a rpt blood but I begged - so I get another on Friday -i am scared crapless. I didn't have a huge hcg-127 at 11dp5dt..so I'm not confident at all.
Anyhoo-still nothing to report home on- no bleeding or anything- but nothing else either- feel pretty much normal!anxious but normal!

Luvmybub - I was about 5.5 weeks when they started, at 2.30 each day I would start to feel dizzy. That in a couple of days in started getting very tired all the time. Then in the last couple of days I have been sick nearly everytime I eat. I never thought I would be happy to be sick. LOL
AFM - finally got my b12 shot. Saw a different doc (going to make him my regular GP) he couldn't believe that the other doc would give it to me when I have a history of deffecancy. he even wants me to go monthly.
Book an ob yesterday. first appointment 22 march. We going going to the doc who looked after my sisters pregnancies. It is all becoming so real now. I never thought I would get here.
lyninthesun - I'm sorry you are frustrated :frustrated:Your level looks excellent although it is strange not to get a repeat blood test. If you want reassurance hun I say demand one. Or what about going to your GP and asking for one????? Just a thought.
luvmybub08 - I had numerous rounds of ivf and our embies barely made it to blastocyst so we always transferred 2 when possible. Our clinic normally allows all 35+ to transfer 2 and I'm 35 later this year. I didn't think any embies would take let alone 2
neecoleg - I'm so glad you finally got your B12 shot and you found a new regular reliable GP. I am going to find a new GP soon, mine seems a bit fruit loopy. I too get the :dizzy: spells but the nausea has hit full force. I am actually trying to put weight on. I think the prednisone is causing me to lose weight (it in fact is supposed to do the opposite but I found some girls saying they lost weight on it too) I was 53 kilo's and my DH suggested I weight myself to make sure I am putting on the kg's and I am now down to 50kg's. I am trying really hard but I am struggling eating at the moment like you. Last night I cooked a lovely meal and just couldn’t stomach it. I ended up eating vegemite on toast. I just seem to be nauseous 24/7 even when I wake up in the middle of the night to pee I feel like I want to :barf: I know if there are 2 little strong heat beats on Monday I am going to have to find a way to eat when I am nauseas. I heard protein shakes are good for pregnant women.

Hi ladies,
I have just joined, and am hoping to also continue in this thread after my BT tomorrow :fingerscrossed:
We had FET #2 on 21st Feb, after BFN FET #1 in Jan. DS1 is 19 months, 1st go IVF bubba.
I have done 2 HPT's and got 2 BFP's, but it's still early so I'm not trusting them until I get the BT results, but am allowing myself to be just a tiny tiny bit :)
Congrats to all in here, hope to be back tmr!!

Ladymoz - what are you on prednisone for. I am been on it in the past for crohns. I put heaps of weight on. I have found it hard to loss the weight. At the time I wish i had your reaction. can understand why you dont want to loos any more at this stage.
Jabee - Congrates on your positive HPT. :fingerscrossed: for BT tomorrow.

Jaybee - :fingerscrossed: for tomorrow
Thank you very much for everyone's well wishes.
Terrible nausea and vomiting, but still feel hungry amongst it - weird.
On night shift this month, and woke yesterday evening with bright pink/red spotting. I called the clinics oncall nurse and they said to come in for bloods this morning, my FS rang me and did a scan to reassure me. I did feel incredibly guilty calling in sick 2 hrs before work, it would have been hard to replace me that late (I'm an ICU nurse).
Looks like I've had a bleed behind one of the placentas but both bubbas still have heart beats. So 'couch potato' for the next week.
My FS was incredibly excited that it was twins. I think I'm the only one that isn't there yet

Luvmubub Good luck with your BT today, I'm sure you'll be pleasantly surprised. I'm with QFG Cairns.
Ladymoz Yeah a did think about going to see my GP, only 10 days to go I think I need to learn some patience.
I've also read a recipe for pregant women, 2 scoops of plain protein powder, 2 scoops of Linseed (aka Flaxseed, very good for baby) on cereal, in smoothies youghurt etc. The thought of this probably want to make you hurl but keep it in mind. FYI I've lost 1 kg so far.
Jaybee :fingerscrossed::babydust1:
Speckled Take it easy & look after number 1 (& number 2 & number 3)
To everyone else
Welcome jaybee, 2 :bfp: hpt sounds really positive, I look forward to hearing about your great blood test results!!!
neecoleg - I am on prednisone for natural killer cells. My fs did a biopsy late last year and found I had this. My levels are not huge but they are active. I thought I had nk cells as I never get sick.
speckled - Sorry to hear about the spotting, glad to hear both bubs are doing fabulous. I know what you mean about twins, my fs too was thrilled, my DH and I were (and still are) in shock. I think everyone wishes for twins but doesn’t think of the worry carrying 2 babies and the double work load that comes with 2. I am over this nausea, at least you are vomiting, I just seem to be a walking nauseous zombie, I'm just so tired too and hungry also. I feel like a baby myself, needing to be fed every 2 hours
lyninthesun - Wow you've lost a kilo already, us pregnant Mummas are supposed to be putting on weight not losing it. Thanks for the protein shake recipe, I will definitely do that.
:flowerz:
Thanks everyone for your :fingerscrossed:
It was a :bfp:, but HCG levels are only 50 and they would like 100+, so I'm having another BT on Monday.
So it's :fingerscrossed::fingerscrossed::fingerscrossed: again and a weekend of not knowing for sure.....:banghead:
At least I get out of all the housework, DH has told me not to lift a finger hehehe :D

Nat84u, Calicious and Luvmybub08 - sorry for your loss, its so heartbreaking. IVF is such an emotional roller coaster let alone dealing with loss. Sending you all strength and courage.
Lyninthesun -I know what you mean, when my clinic phoned to say I had a BFP it was like - congrats your pregnant and we will see you next for a 7 week scan. I was concerned as my levels were low but nope no blood tests. When I went for the 7 week scan all they did was check for about 2 secs that a heartbeat was there. Was not told the heartbeat rate or anything and again they said no blood test was necessary. The Doctor then informed us there is still a 1 in 7 chance that I may lose the baby before the 12 week mark and off I went on that happy note. I suppose its because we are so used to being poked and proded and monitored that we are like "what thats it?" no further monitoring, surely there must be something you can test for.
As for symptoms all I can say is "good grief" as I was totally unprepared. From about 6 weeks on I have been totally bloated with constipation and more gas production than a 150kg man who has been eating beans all day! I am also more iritable and really tired with a constant feeling of sickness but I am not actually being sick which is good. At other times I have been short of breath with a feeling like my blood is racing around my body and my fingers start shaking!! I actually feel embarrassed as I never knew the symptoms could be as bad or as varied. How much I have to learn!!
I love reading how everyone is going especially as I have not told anyone yet.
Take care
jaybee - :fingerscrossed: for today honey
luvmybub08 - I am so sorry for your loss sweetie, there is nothing I can say to make you feel better, I just wish you loads of strength to get through this difficult time :hugs:
Pink Roses - Oh my gosh, I have the exact same symptoms as you, snap. You had my in hysterics re your 'more gas production than a 150kg man' I hear you girlfriend :hair: The constant feeling sick is so not fun, sometimes I just wish I would spew then I would feel better, probably not though.
AFM - My DH and I went for the heart beat scan this morning and we have 2 beautiful strong heart beats :smiliedance: so it's definitely twins for me. I would say that's why I have been feeling so rotten. My DH and I are full of emotions, here comes our instant family  We are so thrilled although scared. There's obviously risk for premature babies when you have more than one. All I can do is make sure I look after myself, not getting stressed and lots of rest.
I hope everyone is doing fabulous :goodvibes:

Jaybee - I hope all is well.
Ladymoz - :smiliedance: YAY for twins. I'm more excited for you about twins than i am about mine.
This forced couch rest has given me far too much time to think.
How can we afford two of everything?
I'm probably going to have to finish work earlier (I'm busy and on my feet all shift)?
I was originally going to go back to work for 1 shift a week 10/12 months, but I can't leave 2 babies with my mum/MIL.
And then DH works away, 4 weeks at a time.
I don't know if some of ladies are like me and have thought a lot about pregnancy/babies while going through IVF. I was going to use a sling to carry the bubba during the day, have a bassinet in my room, get a nice pram with a capsule. But cant carry twins in a sling, can't afford 2 capsules or 2 bassinets.
But I think I'm just thinking too much.
 speckled,
Now no stressing young lady. Honestly, I think you will find a way to manage. But I suggest when you want to announce to your friends that you are pregnant, with twins, that you post on Facebook (if you use this) and ask for seconds of anything and if your friends can ask their friends.
My DH and I are going to be smart for what we ask for as presents, instead of clothes, if perhaps you had an "account" at a bub store or if your parents/in laws pay for something like the big ticket items, the cots or twin pram. That's what we will be doing.
If you Google twin costs, there are lots of cost saving ideas.
:cheerleader2::cheerleader1:
Hi all,
I have been MIA for a few days, just busy with work and a 19mth old and life in general.
It was good news on Monday, hcg tripled from Friday to 153! So we are officially preggers!! Still keeping it very quiet atm, have only told our parents.
Due date is around 9th November, have a b/t next week to see if i can come off some of the meds (frozen cycle) and will have the 7wk scan towards the end of this month.
I still am in denial, don't have any symptoms except for a really sore back. Buy I didn't have many symptoms with my first pg (except for frequent bleeding noses) so not too worried there.
To those expecting twins, everyone says how hard it will be to have 2 babies at once, but if you haven't had a singleton before, twins will be all you will know and that will be your "normal". As far as costs go, borrow everything you can! Babies don't know if something isn't brand new and they don't care ;-) I borrowed heaps of things with DS1, and will do so again. My mum has a bassinet that my sister and I slept in (separately we are not twins), that has since been lent out to another 6 babies! And I plan to borrow it again.
Looking forward to hearing how everyone is going :-) :-)

Hi All
I AM SO OVER MORNING SICKNESS GGGGRRRRRR.......... I am feeling so sick all day long. Hanging onto the toliet at least 3 or 4 times through out the day. :freakingout::no::dizzy::barf::thumbsdown::mad::gl oomy::hissy::crying::gonnagetit:
On the up side at least I know I am defeantly Pregnant. Does anyone have any hints or tips for moning sickness any help would be great. I have tried lots of different things; tablets, small meals regulary, ginger (which made me worse) and dry food. Nothing seems to be working even water is making me feel sick.
On a positive note 7 week scan tomorrow morning. Cant wait. Just hoping that there is only on heart beat. LOL.

Neecoleg - re morning sickness I also tried everything and ginger made it worse too. My friend mentioned that orange juice helped her when pregnant (in theory orange juice should not help due to the sugar). I have felt much better this week drinking some oj in the morning and in the evening. However it could also be coincidence as I am now 9 weeks so perhaps the nausea would of eased anyway but thought I would mention the oj anyway.
I heard sucking on a mint helps with morning sickness, I have been sucking on tick tacks and it has helped.
I just wish I could enjoy food again. I am constantly hungry although every time I eat I struggle with it. I'm just trying to eat lots of small meals throughout the day, just grazing. It's when I sit down to an evening meal, everything just tastes "different" and I can't stomach it :freakingout:
Have a fab weekend pregnant ladies :hyper:
Hello, is anyone there?:( Where are my fellow pregnant friends due Oct/Nov/Dec???:cantbelieveit:
I'm all by myself here
Well an update for myself :D
Had my first OB appointment today and all is well with both bubs. They are both measuring exactly 8 weeks and 2 days, which is exact. Both heartbeats were perfect. I'm so happy all is well so far :cloud9: It's hard after so many ivf attempts to get bad news after bad news to finally get positive results yayyyyy
If anyone reads this, I hope everyone is doing well
Ladymoz - that's excellent news about your scan! So happy for you, and you must be pretty excited! I think maybe this thread is off to a slow start because IVFers know heartbreak all too well, and are hesitant in posting incase something happens. You'll find that more will post after their first scan, or after the 12 week magical mark even! Hope everything continues to go well for you.

Hi ladies
Hope everyone had a wonderful weekend
I just received my BFP from my second IVF cycle, and like a lot of others, was a bit hesitant to post on this thread for the fear of something happening, but I figure bugger it, im pregnant and gonna im enjoy it!!
I had my BT last Thursday, received a low HCG level of 56, so I have another BT this Wednesday to see if its increasing. They have a feeling I could have implanted a day late which is why its lower than they expected, but they just want to make sure. But im feeling pretty pregnant already, bloated, gassy, sick, sore boobies, and heartburn, so I don’t reckon its going away anytime soon :D
Have had a few cramps since the ET, but I have been told this is fairly normal, so im trying not to stress about. Anyway, hope you don’t mind me jumping in on this thread, but I really wanna talk to people about how they are going so far, seeing as I havent told anyone else yet. :fingerscrossed: my BT shows some good results this week, and looking forward to my first scan

Hello all
Hi Gemini
Well i wasnt going to post yet but I just read Gem's post and thought I should be brave and enjoy being on here, I have been stalking this page for a little while hoping I will be joining you all. I had FET 28th feb and BT last monday and got the :bfp: I am due 18th Nov, have my next BT tomorrow to see if my levels are increasing and booked my 1st scan 11th April which is a week after I due to have it. so I am going alittle crazy:freakingout: it seems so far away.
Can some one please add me to the list or tell me how to thanks
Well I have been feeling morning sickness side effects since day for of FET I know early, it didnt feel like I had an illness and I still have this feeling, and I have the worst after taste after eating and brushing my teeth certainly doesnt help.
with my 1st pregs I like chocolate thick shakes from the coffee club seemed to help morning sickness/heartburn but there is no coffee club out here for me so I am trying to find something else to ease the yuk feeling.
Well I look forward to getting to know you all and congratulations everone:celebrate:

Congratulations to the new BPF.
I haven't been on here much, I have been so sick. Ended up on hospital on Saturday for some fluids. By Saturday was was not keeping anything down. The worst was water. I had also lost about 5kg on s week. Was a bit scared, to make it worse my partner was away for the weekend without been able to be contactable.
I had tried maxolon, which I just vomited up as soon as I took it. They then tried stemital which again I vomited back up. So at the hospital they gave me ondansetron, which is a wafer that dissolves in your mouth. It seems to have worked a little. I can now sip water, and have dry toast.

Got my results this morning (they lost it somewhere either QML or FS) well by my second call got them they have gone from 120 last BT to 3400:highfive: this week so very excited now just have to wait for my scan next month.:impatient:

Thanks loveabug, I am feeling 1000x better. Have not been sick since starting to new tablets and can drink a whole glass of water. Back to enjoying being pregnant.
Baby is developing great. Size is right on track. FS said that at this stage if I was going to miscarry there would be signs in the fetus (undersized), but also sometimes things just happen. But the chances are very small. This made me happy, also last appointment with FS was on Tuesday now with an ob.
Welcome Gemini85. It's so good to hear your levels are rising :cheerleader1:woot woot Re the cramps, I have had them on and off so no need to worry. I even had a tiny bit of brown spotting and my OB said its because I am on soooooooooo much support which caused this. This was before we had the scan, I am not spotting now, and both bubs were thriving.
Welcome Loveabug. Chocolate thick shakes, ewwwww I am struggling having anything dairy right now. I know I need to as these babies will be sucking me dry of my calcium. Oh my goodness, your levels are fantastic, maybe there's more than one in there like speckled and I !!! :freakingout:
neecoleg - So sorry to hear this morning sickness has hit you the hardest. I heard the sicker you are it means you are having a boy, its because of his hormones reacting with yours which apparently make you sick. Just a thought :)
AFM - All is well. I was 9 weeks yesterday. I am constantly hungry although everything to me that is not bland is disgusting. I can't live in vegemite sandwiches forever  Sore (.) (.) Out of breathe. Wind :p Constipation, I could go on but hey who's complaining, I am pregnant :smiliedance: and the symptoms are a reminder.
Only 3 more weeks until I can tell the family and friends. (Last time I was pregnant we asked our family not to tell anyone and they told everyone and when I had the miscarriage people who didn't know this kept congratulating me and it was torture) hence why we won't tell the fam until the 13 weeks scan (I have the Down Syndrome/chromosome test on the 20th April) :fingerscrossed:

Hi Ladymoz - Congratulations to you too :D
Wow 9 weeks already, im only 5 weeks, feels like its taking forever haha. I know what you mean about telling peope too early. If I even told one person in my family they would tell the whole world in a matter of minutes. I dont know how Im gonna keep it quiet for the next 7 weeks though. Hope it goes fast.
Sounds like I have all the same symptoms as you lol. The only other thing I have is heartburn, so chocky milk or iced coffee every now and then helps that. But same as you, I love every minute of it.
I have my 7 week scan booked with Repromed in two weeks time, and I finally got into an OBGYN, mind you, the first 2 I wanted didnt have spaces available for my month, and the luck last (yes we only have 3 to choose from in Darwin) is the most expensive!! Meant to be one of the best in Australia so thats pretty good. I have my first appointment with him when im 9 weeks. I didnt think they did them that early??
Anyway, hope everyone is cruising along nicely

Ladymoz I know what you mean about eating plain food but still being hungry all time, wow your 9 weeks fantastic its hard keeping this all a secret I am never good at it and I usually end up telling everyone. now its DH im holding back from telling everyone. lol
AFM well I still feel yuck all the time nothing seems to help for long, went to a new playgroup that opened up today and it was so lovely except the part when they are all telling me to have more children and its so much easier with more children DD would love a little playmate all I could do wa smile mean while Im dying inside and wanted to scream "well for your information we would have a whole car full already if it was that easier we all cant just fall pregnant when we want what you think im happy not having more children andd I feel horrible that DD doesnt have someone else its not by choice" instead I say " oh well my house is so small 2 bed a bigger family wouldnt fit" or "DD is so easy now" or " yeah we wont more maybe soon" but with always a smile or a slight laugh joking around. this is so frustrating we have been TTC since 2004 IVF 2006 they have no idea. ARRRRGH
anywho so sorry to vent it out...
does anyone know of an OB in Rockhampton, am thinking of going there instead of the long drive to Brisbane
thanks ladies feeling abit better now
HI Nat84u,
nice to see you on!!! its been 3 years i think??? I'm so sorry for your loss!
Hi all,
Thought I would finally join in after watching from the sidelines for a little while. I had a FET on 2 March and I will be 7 weeks UTD tomorrow! I have been out of my mind with worry but am now starting to relax a bit. I had some bleeding and cramping last week and thought it was all over. Scan last week showed the little one was still there and this morning I had a scan and got to see the little heart beat. It was so super special.
Gemini85 - good to see you hear. Hopefully some of our other March buddies will join us soon!
Gemini85 - I look forward to hearing about your 7 week scan, how exciting you get to see the heartbeats :smiliedance:
Loveabug - Women can be beatches can't they. Not long until you can tell those Mum's that DD's playmate is on their way!! My MIL, I love her to bits but sometimes she doesn't think. She knows of my 2 miscarriages and she knows we did the turkey baster (IUI) but she doesn't know about IVF. She would say things to me like "oh your FIL just had to look at me and I was pregnant" here I am TTC since 2006!! It used to make me so mad :frustrated:
Wait4u - Welcome to our little pregnancy thread  there's not many of us but I'm sure soon it will be growing as our tummies all grow. I had spotting a couple of weeks ago but my OB said it's due to all the progesterone I am on.
AFM plotting along slowly, 10 weeks feels like a lifetime. I get to see my OB next Friday, I can't wait to see the babies look a bit more like babies than blobs.
The constipation and wind is driving me nuts - holy I could clear a room if one snuck out  So too is constantly feeling hungry but nauseous at the same time, go figure. I soooooo can't wait to be able to eat normal again.
Love to all the pregnant laaaaadies :D

hi ladies. had my 7 week scan today but doesn't look promising. there was a heartbeat but it was slow and it measured a week behind. stressing out big time. have another scan next week. does anyone know any positive stories to help me deal with this? thanks heaps
Gemini85 - Did they tell you there was reason to be concerned? Was it the embryo size that measured a week behind or the heart rate? My FS said expecting embryos to all be the same size is like expecting grown-ups to all be the same size. Mine seems to be measuring small but FS was not concerned. FS also said he would not measure the heart rate. He said the important thing was that there was a heartbeat and that once that's been detected there's a good chance everything will be fine. I remember your HCG was low to start with so maybe things have all just been a little slower to get started for you. I understand you must be so worried though. And waiting a week feels like a lifetime of torture trying to guess what is going on inside your body. Thinking of you and will check in here more regularly to see how you are travelling.
I have another scan tomorrow which will be 7 weeks and 6 days. Hopefully will see plenty of growth and a stronger heartbeat.
Gemini85
05-04-2011, 16:43
thanks wait4u. my fs said was a little worried cause of my initial bloods and that it should be measuring around 8mm and it was only about 4. i could see the heartbeat but it was a bit slow. i think its the waiting that drives me mad. its always good news, but followed by something to be cautious about. i just want it to be ok so i can enjoy it. hope your scan goes really well. can't wait to hear how your bub is doing. its nice being able to see the little blob on the screen lol

AFM well I have none stop nause all day every day and always tired, have the worst after taste and toothpaste makes it all bad and spotting for the last 2 weeks has any one else had that...going alittle crazy waiting to see our little heartbeats we fly back to brissy on sunday for the scan on monday cant wait.

Sorry meant scan next thurs, I'm a big scatterhead these days
Oh dear Gemini, yes, I totally understand that it completely sucks when there always seems to be some reason to be cautious. It would be nice to be completely oblivious to any reason for worry and just enjoy it! Tomorrow will be my fourth scan! I just want for there to be absolutely no reason for concern, for all measurements and indicators to come out spot on average. But not everyone gets to be average I suppose. Just gotta keep trying to get through every day without freaking out too much.
Hopefullysoonplease - Glad to see you join us!! I have had lots of crampiness too and I hate it. Although I think a lot of it is just constipation! So yay, I guess.
Loveabug - So exciting about your upcoming scan! It must feel like ages away as I'm sure it can't come soon enough. I hope the nausea eases up soon. And the spotting too. I haven't had any spotting since my bleeding before 6wks.
Hi to anyone else who might be lurking!

Hello Ladies,
Firstly - congratulations to everyone on making it this far! And commiserations those who didnt get to stay........
I too have been lurking, just plucking up the courage to post....don't want to jinx it!
I am 6.5 weeks preg after 6 ICSI transfers of BFN.....so i am still a little in shock and VERY cautious about getting excited.
My HCG has been very good all the way (HCG 92 at 9dp5dt, HCG 634 at 13 days, HCG 8000 at 5wks and 6wks, it was 43000), but I'm worried about my progesterone levels, they were 53, 74 then 53 respectively over the last 3 bts. I am on 3 x 400mg pessaries per day and progynova tablets. My clinic says they are not worried about the P4 level.....I am!
I have also had lots of spotting, I had bright red bleeding just before I got my BFP and since then I have had tiny brown clots and brown pessary discharge, sometimes darker than others, sometimes none.....again the clinic are not that concerned as it is old blood and they think it is probably a section of my lining sheddin....again, needless to say I am concerned!
I guess I'm after a little bit of encouragement! Do any of you know what your progesterone has been doing in relation to your HCG?
I have my first scan on Tuesday the 12th....praying for a heartbeat!
Sarah

Hi Sarahandchaz - Welcome:wave: and congratulations :smiliedance:
Good to hear that your clinic isnt concerned with your spotting. I came on here to find answers about a similar thing lol. From what I have heard from alot of my pregnant friends, and from what I have googled, it seems to be pretty normal. But we all have a reason to be cautious, especially after endless BFNs etc.
Goodluck for your scan on the 12th!! I have another scan on that day too.
Thanks for your help with everything Wait4u - I felt alot better reading your post.
Im a bit worried this morning though. I have this really gluggy brown discharge, which I have never had before. I have tiny tiny cramps, but Im not sure if thats just in my head lol. But the discharge is really really light brown, nothing I have seen before. So im sooooooo worried. Its not red, which I guess is a good sign, but worrying it could be the start of something considering my last scan wasnt that promising.
Grrrr...its so hard to enjoy this when stuff like this keeps happening. My FS is really blunt, and straight to the point, so when she did my scan, she pretty much said, Im worried abou this pregnancy, it could go one way or the other, so lets just pray, whereas the nurse who rang to tell me my new scan appointment, was all happy and saying everything looked good, congratulations, etc etc. Maybe she is just really optimistic. I dunno. This is driving me crazy.
Sorry for the rant, im just stressing big time, dont know what to think

Gemini - try not to worry too much, if its more brown than red, then that is ok....means its old blood....I was told with my bleeding and brown discharge (and I have had lots of it) that is more than likely just a spot on my lining that is shedding. As for cramping, I have had cramps, not unlike AF, since my transfer and get them pretty much everyday.....both the FNs and my acupuncturist said its very normal to get cramping as the uterus expands.
Hang in there!
Sarah x
WOW it's been busy in here. It was so quiet for a while then bam, lots of preggy women joining :smiliedance:
Gemini85 - oh honey I know you must be stressing but there have been plenty of girls I have stalked over the years that had a bub one week behind. Some are just late implanters. I too have had a brown discharge a few weeks ago and it stressed me out too. My OBGYN said it is because I was on SO much support which was causing the spotting. I have had on and off af type pains and yes that too is normal.
Wait4u - How did the scan go? I look forward to hearing fabulous results!
Loveabug - All the best for your scan on Sunday. As I said above to Gemini85 I too spotted around my 7th/8th week.
Hopefullysoonplease - I know what you mean about posting too soon, its like we don't want to jinx ourselves. It's so hard to enjoy being pregnant in the early days. All the best for your scan next Thursday.
sarahandchaz - Welcome babe. No my fs wasn't too concerned re my Progesterone levels. Tuesday cant come here quick enough to hear the heartbeat. :fingerscrossed: for you (not that I think you need it, your hcg levels are fantastic)
AFM - I had my 11week OBGYN appointment today. I was soooooo anxious.
No more dildo cam which is great. I was very anxious going in but all is fantastic. Both bubs are measuring exactly 11 weeks and 2 days which I am, so spot on. Both heart beats were fabulous. One baby was very active, not that I can feel anything this early, but on the screen you could see it waving its little hands and moving its legs. The other one was sleeping (my husband said that's like it's Mum but can you see the foxtel remote in there?) he he The OBGYN had a little giggle. It still feels so surreal, and they look like babies now. :cheerleader2::cheerleader1:
I look forward to hearing wonderful scan results next week from those anxiously waiting. :goodvibes:

Ladymoz - great news regarding your scan!! You must be soooo excited. Must be awesome now that they look like babies. Wow, twins, everyone is having twins lol. Super exciting.
Thanks for your advice re the spotting. I have never seen that colour before though, it looked really odd, but like everyone has said, as long as its not red, I should be ok. Hopefully mine was just a late implanter. Cause my HCG levels were low at first, but they increased like they should, so maybe that was just the case. Which would mean it would look a little smaller than it should too. Got another scan next Tuesday to see if its improved :fingerscrossed: Im just hoping that the discharge and cramps were a sign of it growing a bit bigger!! Phew, its so nerve racking.
Bloody technology, thats the problem. In the old days, it was a simple 'you're pregnant" and a scan at 12 weeks, now its all about levels, and beats per minute when its the size of a grain of rice, and all that other stuff they monitor. Gives you a million reasons to worry when half the time there is no reason to.
Hi all,
Sarahandchaz - welcome! My progesterone levels haven't been checked so I don't know if they are ok! But still being preggas is a good sign! I think if progesterone was a problem is usually upsets things pretty early on and I've heard anything over 30 is fine. Its awful how much we worry even when the experts tell us not to.
Gemini85 - I also had the gluggy brown discharge this morning and am trying not to freak out. I think most of it was pessary with old blood in it although there were a few little red bits. Haven't had any since this morning though. FN said to rest and call if there was any more. She said if there wasn't then it would probably be fine. I'm a bit sick of 'probably'. I maybe have some little pains but also just super sensitive to them! So I'm trying to tell myself, if they are not really severe then it's 'probably' fine.
Ladymoz - How exciting to get past the dildo cam stage!! :cheerleader2::cheerleader1: And to have actually little baby-looking bubbas! I'm so excited for you!
AFM - My scan on Wednesday went well with FS saying everything was perfect. The heartbeat looked much stronger than last week. It has definitely grown but the measurement on the photo I got dated more than a week behind. Which has still got me worried. Although I'm trying to trust the FSs description of perfect. Now the brown with a little red discharge this morning - hard not to turn into a complete fruit loop.

Hello Ladies
Seems we are getting quite a little group up....I hope we all make it to the end!
Just a quick one from me...... RED blood this afternoon.....not flowing just when I wiped after going to the loo.....Tuesday can't come quick enough for some answers. Rang clinic who weren't too worried as it's not heavy. Fx it's all ok......but v worried
X
Sarahandchaz - :fingerscrossed: it is all ok. Totally get how worried you must be. It is a very scary experience and I found I didn't know what to do with myself. Just have to try and make it through to your scan. At 5w5d I had a little brown blood and then at 6w I felt a rush of blood come out and it was bright red. But there was no more after that. My FS said that he's surprised pregnant women don't bleed more often with the stuff that's going on inside us. I hope you can find a way to stay mostly calm and hopeful. Treat yourself lots and do whatever you have to to get through the next few days (except maybe getting sloshed :p). Thinking of you.
Gemini85 - I was reading that with IVF pregnancies where the embryo and sac are small-for-dates but a heart rate has been detected, it is more likely to continue as a healthy pregnancy than this same issue in a naturally conceived pregnancy.
Good luck girls for you scans on Tuesday!:fingerscrossed::fingerscrossed::fingerscr ossed:

Hi everyone!!!
I have been lurking since I got my BFP and trying to decide whether to throw caution to the wind and join you. I am 5 weeks today (due around 8th Dec) and do not feel pregnant at all!!! I have spent the whole day wondering if I still am or not lol. Did anyone else not feel anything at first???
I have an appt with my FS on Weds and a BT at my clinic next Monday which just seems a lifetime away!!!
Look forward to getting to know you all!

welcome quartz! glad you have decided to join. im pretty much the same as you. apart from sore boobs and heartburn once a week, i don't feel pregnant at all. no morning sickness or anything. should count ourselves lucky hey lol. Goodluck for your scan darl, hope everything goes well xoxo

10-04-2011, 21:35
Quartz, it's funny, when you think the tww is bad, you get a BFP then the waiting is worse!
Fionae - I have been looking at heart dopplers on eBay and other sites. Was yours expensive? What sort did you get? Im pretty keen to get one.
Well no bleeding since the red stuff the other day.....I have been set at ease by a few friends....one who had to wear a pad from 12wks to 32wks because she was bleeding so heavily! Others who have experienced regular bleeds through their entire pregnancies! All of which had very healthy babies.....so I'm not feeling so anxious about mine.
Two more sleeps til my scan......fx for a healthy heartbeat
Have been feeling quite nauseous and VERY tired today....should go to bed but my favourite show is on at 8.30....Midsomer Murders!
Hope you all had a great weekend

Hi ladies
Hope you all had a wonderful weekend
Wait4u - I just googled (again) and found that site you were talking about. It was soooooooo good to read that it seems to be common with ivf pregnancies and everything turns out ok. I feel so much better about tomorrow now. According to that article too, when you reach 8 weeks they tend to start growing better, so im 8 weeks tomorrow, hope the little thing starts growing like crazy!!
Good luck for your scan tomorrow too Sarahandchaz - only 1 more sleep to go!!!

Hi girls,
Just a quick one.....my scan went great this morning....heartbeat is 146bpm and measuring at 7w 4days (4 days ahead....supposed to be 7w). Saw the heart beating away, the spine and it was wriggling like a little tadpole! The sonographer
couldnt see anything wrong with my uterus that would explain the bleeding and said that I should not see anymore in all likelihood. Still awaiting blood results later today.
Much relieved!!
Sarah x
Hi lovely ladies and congrats on your pregnancies!
Can I please join you?
After 1 fresh cycle, 3 FETs and 2 early losses I can't believe I am actually here!
I had very low HCG and was getting bt's every second day and constantly spotting, was told preg probably wasn't viable. then on Sunday I started bleeding red and had strong cramps so assumed it was all over as that is exactly what happened with my other losses.
They got me in for a scan yesterday and we feared the worst, but lo and behold, we see a little blob and a flashing heartbeat straight away!
As you can imagine, we were in total shock! I measured exactly 5 weeks 6 days (which is what I was) and everything looks perfect!
Bleeding has slowed back down to spotting but I still have strong cramps, the nurse just said to take some panadeine and rest but I can't get out of work!
Anyway, I have another scan next Wednesday and my first OB appt on may 9th!
Still in shock....
Good luck to the girls having scans today :)
P.S - due date is 6th of December

I am already hanging out for my scan next week - I will be 9w6d.

hi ladies. welcome pepsi and congratulations. congrats on your great scan too sarahandchaz. unfortunately my scan wasn't so good. no heartbeat detected today and it didn't grow at all. so now i have to wait for nature to take its course. im all cried out so i guess i should take comfort in knowing i CAN get pregnant. at least i have a frostie to fall back on. sorry to bum everyone out. but thanks for all your support. its helped a lot xoxo
Gemini - I am so sorry to hear your news, you must be devastated! That is exactly what happened to me last cycle and I remember that time between scans was excruciating. I hope for your sake nature takes it course quickly, it's nice to hear you are already looking forward to your next cycle. Take care of yourself!

Hi all,
Thanks for the welcome and I am sorry Gemini to hear your bad news.
But for me, it's all over before it even began.
On Tuesday I was getting cramps but not really bleeding so I thought it was ok, I booked my OB and 12 week scan. Then yesterday the cramps got worse, really really painful. I called the fn and she told me if I was worried to go in for a scan at 5pm. By late afternoon, the pain was killing me, then I felt a gush, then more gushes. I was bleeding very heavily with huge clots. Went in for the scan and it's all over. I had a miscarriage.
I am all cried out and just feel numb today, have to go back to hospital for another anti-d shot.
All the best to everyone and their pregnancies, I wish I could have joined you on this journey.
Pepsi - I'm really sorry to hear your news - big hugs to you

My heart goes out to you too :(
Loveabug - Fabbbbbbbbbbbbbb news about the heart beat. Great results! :smiliedance:
Hi to everyone else
Hi everyone :smiliedance:
A quick question for you all about Prog and HcG levels - any idea what's normal????
I had a BT done yesterday and my FS rang today to say my HcG was 2550 (up from 412 last Tues) is this low??? I am currently 5w4d and I am constantly worried something is wrong as I have felt no symptoms really bar a bit of tiredness and some headaches. He also said my Prog levels were 27 which is a bit low as he would like to see them above 30 so now I have to take an additional pessary at night which takes me to 3 a day.
Interested to know what others experiences have been.

Aw Pepsi that really sucks....big hugs to you that is just awful. I hope you can get some answers xx
Quartz - your HCG sounds fine (I assume you are talking last Tuesday as in two days ago?) it should double every two or three days......try and google betabase it will give you an idea of how you are going. You progesterone does sound really low....I've heard 30 as the minimum they like to see. Mine has been hovering around 50 for most of the time and I am on 400mg pessaries 3 x day. As long as yours doesn't go down anymore you should be ok. fx

Hopefully we'll see more of the March girls over here soon  I couldn't wait to join but had to see the heartbeat first.

I probably need to reintroduce myself, I've just had my 12 week scan so I'm ready to join in again. I did post at the start but took a break just incase.
I am expecting twins, but have had bleeding and been on bed rest. But all looks good now, just measuring a few days behind- but that's ok, right?
This is our first pregnancy after 8 cycles. I am excited about being pregnant but scared about twins.
I had morning tea with two ladies with 3 month olds, one was still feeding every 2 hours!
Can't wait to join in with you all.
Hi everyone,
I have been MIA - off celebrating anniversary with DH and trying to relax and not worry about things.
Gemini85 - I am so so sorry to hear your news. I hope things don't drag on for too long so that you can move forward. It is wonderful that you can get pregnant. I'm glad you are finding something positive in it but no doubt you will feel ups and downs over the next little while. Thinking of you.:hugs:
Pepsi - :hugs:It's just not fair. You get a little hope then it gets taken away then a little comes back then bye bye again. It's horrible that anyone has to deal with that. It seems you are one of those people who gets to find strength they never thought they had and never really should have to find. I'm so sorry.
speckled - Welcome back . I hope it feels good to get to 12 weeks. I am hanging out for it. A think a few days behind is fine - particularly for twins.
Butterfli - glad you have come over to join us! Glad to hear you got to see the heartbeat, it is such a wonderful and reassuring thing to see.
Quartz - I think your HCG is fine. I have read that once it gets past 1200 it can take longer to double and that HCG levels past this point are difficult to interpret. I understand the worry - it would be nice if the rollercoaster ended once we got that positive result, but no.
Loveabug - Woo hoo!! for getting to see the heartbeat!
AFM - Can't wait for my scan on Wednesday. I will be almost 10 weeks. I think a good positive scan at that point will make me relax heaps - hopefully. Some growth catch up would be very good to see. In the meantime, been far too busy with Uni and work and wish that I had known earlier in the year that I would be preggas now!! After four years TTC, I got quite sick of planning around getting pregnant, so I stopped doing that. I will just have to cope with being crazy busy until end of semester and I can cut back.
Take care everyone.:babydust1:

hi ladies. first of all, congrats to everyone with fantastic news. its so good to hear. this is a bit of a me post but just have some questions. my fs said i would probably iscarr within two weeks and that was last tuesday but i don't have anything yet. does anyone know when i should expect it? also, might be a silly question but will i get my period at the same time, or do i have to wait for a month after the miscarriage? i just want an idea of when i will be able to do my next cycle. trying to look forward that's all. thanks ladies xoxo
Hi Gemini - I guess everyone is different but for me I didn't miscarry until 4 weeks after the scan detected no HB. Then I had to wait until o got my next period (which took 6 weeks to arrive) before I could do a FET.

Hi,
I have been a bit scared to post here but I have decieded to bite the bullet as 5 wks today and it took me ages to find this post again
We got our :bfp: last week on 13th April on our 3rd fresh ICSI cycle (we had a non viable pregnancy in Jan on ICSI) Dh and I are really excited but really worried about losing this one too. We havnt told anyone yet  Im just getting back aches but no m/s or anything yet. My stomach is already bloated from all previous medications I have been on so I look pregnant anyways
 to everyone, I see some similar names that we have cycled together in the past.
We are due on the 20th Dec - :freakingout:
Hi ladies - just a quick update. Had my BT this morning and my progesterone was up to 54 :celebrate: so the extra pessary certainly fixed the problem. My HcG was up to 3950 from last week which isn't as high as I hoped but the FN said it's fine as long as it is rising so I will keep my :fingerscrossed: that it continues to do that. Scan on the 28th so hopefully that will hold the answers!

Quartz, good to see your progestrone levels are rising nicely. I bet you can't wait for your scan to see your little bubba, 28th will come by fast with Easter in the middle of it all. I love scans. I find myself holding my breath though at first.
second baby not so easy  good to see you here, hope your feeling well. I know what you mean about the bloated feeling. Your going to have a christmas baby its very exciting.
Maybebaby74, good to see you on here too. Your HCG levels were very high thats great to hear. Hope all goes well with your first scan.
Wait4u, good to chat to you again, I was a bit slow in joining I know but I'm so glad I did now. Wow 10 weeks already that has gone fast! I bet you can't wait to hit 12 weeks. Good luck with your scan on Wednesday.
Hi speckled, congratulations in making it to 12 weeks, wow twins your going to have double the fun  very exciting. Hope you have an uneventful pregnancy and all goes well for you.
AFM all is going ok, I just want time to go faster! I have another scan with my FS in 2 weeks on the 2nd and I made an apointment with my OB on the 3rd (they requested a 9 weeks scan). So I'll be seeing bubs twice in 2 days! I had one bout of m/s and thats it, it was in the evening too. Hopefully I don't get that too often ewww.
Gemini85 - I hope it doesn't take too long for you to get to move on. I've heard it can be very variable. And there's not much you can do except ask for a D&C if you want one. After you miscarry you generally have to wait for your next period which can take longer to arrive. Have they done any BTs to see if your HCG is going down?
Maybebaby74 - look forward to seeing you here more permanently! Good luck with your scan.
Second baby not so easy - Great to see you in here!! Bloated, yeah, tell me about it. I don't know how many times I can be seen wearing the same one pair of pants that fit me. I just can't bring myself to get into any maternity clothes yet - I just feel like someone is going to scream - "Hey, look at her, she's wearing maternity pants".
Quartz - great to hear your progesterone has gone up. Must be a relief.
butterfli - definitely can't wait to hit 12 weeks! I hope the m/s stays away for you. Hoping the next two weeks flies by so you can have your scans, and I will be nearly 12 weeks! Easter should help.
Take care everyone:babydust1:

hi wait4u! hope everything is going well with you? well i have a referral letter to get a d&c if i don't bleed by next week. so i hope i don't have to do that. my fs said i could do my fet after easter, and i have heard of people ovulating straight after a miscarriage so perhaps she is presuming that will be me? oh well, just have to wait i guess. but im soooo impatient lol
Gemini85 - That would be great if you get to do a FET so soon! I hope you are doing ok. Take care of yourself as best you can hey.

Quartz - so glad to hear your progesterone has risen! They say it's the most important level. You must be relieved!
Maybebaby74 - sh1t your HCG is very high! How many embryos did you have transferred?! Mine has been high too, so much so that the sonographer was looking for two bubs at my 7 wk scan. Only one on the screen though....Phew! Although my acupuncturist said the levels were very high too and "you know they can sometimes not see two til later on".....geez thanks for the vote of confidence!
Butterfli - the waiting is excruciating isn't it!
Wait4u - good luck for your scan! fx
Second baby not so easy - welcome! How are your levels looking?
AFM - got my blood results this morning (8w 4d) HCG 178000 E2 4243 and P4 78.....very pleased my progesterone has finally decided to stop hovering around 50! I'm off to Hawaii on Saturday for a week to attend a wedding, then Sydney for another week to catch up with family...... next appointment is not til I get back on the 9 th with MW, and then on 20th with OBS.....seems SOOO far away!! Feel yuck everytime I eat too :p FN said my HCG should plateau now so hopefully will start to feel a bit better.

Thanks Butterfli for doing the roll call. One was done really early on, I think page 2 of this thread. Glad to hear everything is well with you.
So glad to hear everyone is going well.
Welcome to all the newbies.
I joined this thread soon after it was made, I remember complaining "where is everyone" I had no fellow preggas ladies to talk to, now there are so many.
second baby not so easy - ohhh you're going to have a Christmas baby, how cool. Welcome honey.
Quartz - so glad to hear your progesterone is up yayyyyy and you HCG is rising which is excellent news, up is good remember, down is bad and you are going up!!!
Wait4u - you are not too far behind me. I am 13 weeks now. But.... re the nausea etc... it hasn't stopped like I thought it would heading into the 2nd trimester, I :barf:this morning
Gemini - all the best for your FET, hopefully you will be back joining this thread soon sweet.
sarahandchaz - gee your bub should be earning some frequent flyer points he he Have a wonderful time in Hawaii and Sydney, very jealous!! I hear you about feeling yuck when eating. I have gone totally off meat, something I used to eat everyday so that's funny you say you have gone off chocolate, something you loved. Weird hormones we have hey!!!
AFM I had the 13 weeks nuchal scan yesterday and the results came back perfect. The twins have a 1 in 2000 chance of down syndrome. I knew god couldn't be cruel to me after everything I have been through to get pregnant.
It was amazing though, seeing the bubs in 3D. They were both moving around. One had hiccups which was so cute to watch. Seeing their little feet, tiny ears, sweet arms and legs, it was incredible. I cried when I saw them :crying: I'm in love already!!! Also got to hear their heartbeats which I longed for. So from today onwards we will be telling all family and friends. It will be so nice. I am also look forward to not hiding my bump!!!
Have a fabulous Easter everyone and have a well deserved break from work!!!

Hi ladies
Wow ladymoz, sounds like you had an excellent scan. Must have been wonderful to see both babies so active.
Sounds like everyone is doing well which is fantastic :D
AFM - still waiting, starting to go insane lol. My luck its gonna come when im camping this weekend, hmmm. Not noice. I just want it to hurry up so I can do my FET. I have heard you are more fertile afterwards, so I hope thats the case with me. Gonna have a binge this weekend with some grog and ciggys, which I never really missed, but figure bugger it, I deserve it. Then back after easter, will go back to being super healthy, and then onto "the ice age". Hope my little frostie is doing well.
Hope all you ladies have a wonderful Easter. Go crazy with the Easter Eggs I reckon!! You're not meant to eat all that yummy seafood so why not hey lol
All the best xx

Hi everyone,
I posted in the first pages of the thread but stopped for a while.
I was extremely anxious about miscarriage (I had sevral miscarriages and ectopics in the past:(). So much that I couldn't even talk about my pregnancy with anyone!!
I needed to see the bub at the 12 week scan and go through the NT scan.
All that has been done yesterday!!:smiliedance:
We saw the bub moving around, in 3D. It was amazing!!!
The NT scan result was far better than I expected: 1:1900 :hyper:
So now, I can really lay back and enjoy my pregnancy:)
Have a wonderful Easter ladies!!!

Catfroggy, congratulations to making to 12 weeks! Its such a relief that the NT scan went well. Are you going to tell everyone the good news now.
We're waiting to have this done (NT) in a month or so before we tell any relatives and friends, cannot wait.
Starting to feel morning sickness alot now I never got this with my DS, thank goodness DH is around for the next week to help me with him.
Its nice and sunny:sunshine: here in Sydney which is a change normally its raining and miserable the easter weekend. Have a lovely easter ladies :)
Hey everyone
Catfroggy - welcome back! That's so wonderful that everything is going well. I hope you can enjoy your growing bump and everything that goes along with being preggas.
My scan went well on Wednesday. We got to hear a lovely strong heartbeat and the little one starting to look like a actual human bubba.
Today though I am sooo grumpy I don't know what to do with myself. Everything is getting on my nerves. And I have gotten away so far without too much M/S but this morning I have felt quite nauseus. Having some friends over this arvo and DH really wants to tell them but I just feel so cranky I don't feel like being all 'Yeah its so exciting.'
Sorry to be a downer but just feeling very crappy.

Hi all you wonderful people
ok so I going to try and catch up with whats been happening i had just did a huge reply but I did something and it didnt post so I am sorry if I miss anyone
catfroggy Its such a great feeling when we get to 12 weeks, Im so close yet it feels so far away. I love 3D scans well done
wait4u I just love the sound of that strong heartbeat awesome, we are due the same time
butterfli hope you dont get m/s to bad, I had a little m/s with DD but I would vomit and feel better this time around for me its all day long
second baby not so easy you get the best christmas present of all fantastic
quartz your levels are looking great
sarahandchaz enjoy Hawaii
gemini good luck with your FET, take care of yourself
ladymoz great results, its so much easier when you can openly enjoy your happiness and share with the people you love.
afm well the nausea hasnt settled and I finally went GP to get meds to help, laying if the fetal position all afternoon is not healthy. just got to tackle the exhustion and the most disgusting taste in my mouth which in turn causes the nausea and all should be good lol. Have to book my 12week scan and find an OB in Rockhampton this will be my 1st baby born there our 1st child was in brissy so its going to be a whole new beginning again. which is hard when you get to know and trust you Drs and then you move and have to do it all again. So if any one can recommend an OB would be fantastic. Cant wait til after easter we are off to Fiji for my 30th for total relaxation well most of the time DD is coming so as long as she is entertained and happy everyone is lol...

Hi Girls,
I have decided to bite the bullet and join this thread after stalking for a bit. Got our BFP on the 21st with a HCG of 268 and had another BT today with a level of 1568 so pretty happy with that. Plus this time just "feels" different and I just have this feeling that this is the one :fingerscrossed:. Looking forward to the 8 week scan, we are 5 weeks tomorrow. So hopefully that 3 weeks goes quick.
I have read through everyones stories and am sad to see some lovely ladies have had to leave and I understand the heartache that goes with it.
Anyways I hope to get to know all of you lovely ladies over the coming months. Oh and my Due Date is 27th of December.

Hi ladies
Hope everyone had a wonderful Easter and got spoiled with lots of Easter Eggs!!
Looks like everyone is doing really well. Its so good to see. Very reassuring.
Butterfli - you must be excited about your scans. 2 days in a row, awesome!!
AFM - STILL NOTHING!! Driving me insane. Have to book in for a D&C today. Grrr. Sorry to bum anyone out, but the thread I was on before doesnt seem to be very active lately, and I dont really fit in to any other thread. But you ladies are awesome to talk to, so I just want to keep you posted.
I had to ring my clinic to let them know whether anything had happened by today, and the nurse I spoke to was pretty funny. She said " I bet your thinking Oooooh maybe everything is ok and Im not going to miscarry" lol. I was like Ahhh yeah, im beginning to think that! Wouldnt be the first time thats happened hey.
I just hope the Ob does a scan before the D&C, just to be certain. Surely I could request that hey??
Anyway, will keep you all posted, im soooo looking forward to my FET, but time seems to be going verrrrry slow...
Welcome to all the newbies and congrats on your pregnancies xx
Gemini - Hi honey. Stranger things have happened. I agree, definitely get another scan before the D&C just to be 100% certain. Until then, I will be asking the fertility gods to bring on your next FET :babydust1:
Butterfli- My DH and I also waited to tell anyone, family or friends, until we had the NT scan. I know what you mean re the morning sickness although I call mine all day sickness! I bet you are counting down the sleeps until you get your scans done!! :D
Catfroggy - Woot Woot for your 12 week NT scan :cheerleader2:. Your results are exactly like mine. Yes now try and lay back and enjoy this pregnancy (easier said than done) In between scans I still worry, I think its only natural after 2 miscarriages. 2 more weeks for me until I get to see the bubs again.
Wait4u - Sorry you have been cranky, it’s the damb hormones playing havoc on you :freakingout:
Loveabug - I hope you are having a faaaaaaaaaabo time in Fiji celebrating your 30th. :celebrate:
looloo711 - Welcome sweet. Ohhhh another :xmastree: baby yippy.

Gemini, hope your doing ok hun, it must be awful this waiting. Hope its not long before your on your next FET. Its good that you have some frosties and don't have to go through a full stim.
Ladymoz, your right i can't wait for my scan. The nervousness never stops hey. Funny I haven't had any m/s for a few days but I wish it would come back to reassure me. Glad you also waited to tell everyone, its so much fun to tell good news. I can't WAIT. I have my Son's first birthday in a few weeks and all the family will be over and the week AFTER is when I hit 12 weeks. I would love to tell everyone at the party but unless I can organise the NT scan at 11 weeks we've decided to wait.

hi ladies. hope everyone is doing well. i went to the hospital yesterday and demanded the d&c straight away cause the private couldn't do it for another two weeks. they said they could have done it this morning but he also gave me the option of the medical option. so i took the misoprostol last night and its all over with now. very very painful but its all done which im happy about. had a huge argument with hubby tonight though cause he was sleeping while i was crying on the bathroom floor nearly passing out from the pain. but somehow he turned it around on me and stormed out a while ago. oh well, not worth the effort of worrying about right now. still on my painkillers so im a bit out of it. so glad its finally done though. thanks for the support ladies. bring on the fet now. if i have a partner to do it with now lol
Gemini - you poor thing! Big hugs to you, hope you feel better soon
AFM - my scan on Thursday once again showed no heartbeat. FS acted very quickly and had me in for a D&C yesterday so he could get some testing done on the tissue and try and find the answer to why this keeps happening. I have had an extremely emotional couple of days. I completely sympathize with Gemini about her DH as when I called mine in tears on Thursday to tell him I had to have a D&C and I was really stressed and anxious he said "oh I guess we won't be going grocery shopping tonight then?". Not funny at the time but can laugh about it now!
Anyway good luck to the rest of you as you enjoy the next 6-7 months, I will keep an eye on how you are going

Hi everyone, my name is Anya from February IVF thread. So glad to accidentally find this follow-up thread on bubhub too! My initial due date is on 4 November. But since we're twice blessed with twins, I guess due date comes earlier around 14 October :)
Thank GOD, yesterday (friday) I reached 13 weeks, I experience light/moderate morning sickness so far. But I've been having constant headaches, abdominal pains/aches & acid reflux since week 6 onwards and thus haven't gain any weight yet (actually lost 2 kgs (4 lbs).
My next doc appointment is at 15w 6d. Meanwhile, I hope the headaches & acid reflux will decrease so I can start gaining some weight.
Thanks for having me, fellow moms! ;)

Welcome Anya, huge congratulations and to be blessed with your 2nd set of twins!!! Thats amazing. So glad you have made it to 13 weeks that much be such a relief!! :smiliedance: I hope the next 6 or so months are smooth sailing.
Does this mean that our thread has 3 sets of twins?? That has to be a first! What a great support network it will be.
Quartz I'm so so sorry :hugs::hugs:I know there are no words to say that can help. I'm thinking of you.
Gemini I hope your doing ok too and its not long till your FET.
AFM I'm 9 weeks this week and I have my FS appointment tommorrow (my last one) and my OB appointment on Tuesday. I can't wait. I had this OB for my first child and he was unreal all the way through very supportive (I was very worried throughout) so I'm looking forward to seeing him again.
Have a lovely day ladies. I'm off to my son's 1st birthday combined party with my mothers group, the dads are coming too.
Gemini85 - Bring on the FET, and give that hubby of yours a good beatch slap, that will snap him out of this behaviour, maybe he's hurting too and taking it our on his favourite punching bag.
quartz - I am so, so sorry for your loss hun. I can remember it so clearly when my fs told me with my first pregnancy that there was no heartbeat. I feel for you babe. :hugs:
anya - Welcome sweet. I am also pregnant with twins! It is great to have 2 others on here for the added support. I had much the same pregnancy symptoms as you :highfive: and I lost weight too, bizarre. I am 15 weeks tomorrow so 2 weeks ahead of you.
butterfli - I can't wait to hear how your fs and obgyn appointments go.
AFM - The 2nd trimester is strange. It's good not to have some of the nasty pregnancy symptoms but having them was a reminder that I was pregnant. My next obgyn appointment is next week and I am counting down the sleeps until I get to see the babies again.
At the moment I am finding everyone to be an "expert" and its driving me mental. I love my mother in law to bits but she's driving me crazy at the moment. I feel like saying "you had your last child 35 years ago, things have changed and also guess what, it's not about you!! Maybe I am just hormonal :D

Ladymoz - Yay for being in the 2nd tri, take this time to feel great!!
Anya - Wow another set of twins, atleast you will have loads of support in this thread off the other girls who have 2 miracles as well!
Butterfli - Looking forward to hear about your scans. I bet you are very happy to have 2 so soon together. NT scan in 3 weeks how very exciting:smiliedance:
AFM - just went for another sneaky BT yesterday so I can make sure things are running smoothly and all good HCG at 29dpo 16758!! Can't wait till first scan on 17th!!

Wow looloo, thats awesome. Thats some great HCG levels. You must be so excited about your scan
haha yeah my hubby has been great since then. After I yelled and threw some stuff at him lol, he realised how upset I was. He was just being "male" I guess, where sometimes they just dont think like us women do.
Was a horrible weekend not talking to him, but its been great since then. I think we are both looking forward to the FET.
We are booked in to see the FS next Friday and find out what the next step is. All went well with the medication I took, and my scan showed I dont need a D&C, so it wont be long now hopefully and I can move forward. I know they will make me wait til after my next AF (grrrr) but that wont be too far away :fingerscrossed:
Congrats again on your pregnancy. I hope you're enjoying every moment of it. Just in time for mothers day too :D

Hello Ladies,
I'm still in NSW but back from holidays in Hawaii. Had an awesome time, but it's great to be back to real food! Everything was laden with sugar or fat. Ive been craving bread lately and every type of bread they have has corn syrup added and its sickly sweet, yuk!
I am 10.5 weeks and have my first MW
appointment on Monday, then OBS the following Thursday. MS has mostly gone, but boobs still sore, and hungry at odd hours. Also have started weaning off the pessaries and progynova (I will be glad to see the end of them!).
I bought a foetal Doppler on the net which is waiting for me at the post office on our return.....can't wait to use it!
I hope everyone is progressing well and welcome to the newbies! Our little group seems to be growing!

Im so sorry Loveabug :hugs:
Its such a sucky thing to happen. No way to describe how horrible it makes you feel. Just remember we are all here to talk
Hope you are doing ok hun and taking care of yourself. I had a miscarriage last month, and although i wasnt as far along as you, it was a similar situation. I knew straight away that it happened, only because i had 2 scans within a week (because it was a possibility that it would happen) but I didnt miscarry for a while afterward. My baby stopped growing at about 6 weeks, and I didnt miscarry until about 10 weeks (and it was a medically induced miscarriage)
Your FS will take you through everything, but in my case, I was given the option to wait 2 weeks and miscarry naturally, and then after that I would have to have a D&C, just to avoid an infection. Well I didnt miscarry naturally, and when I made the appointment to have the D&C, it was going to be another 2 weeks just for an appointment, then have to wait for the surgery. So I chucked a hissy fit, went to the public hospital and the lovely doctor there gave me Misoprostol to induce the miscarriage. 6 hours after I inserted the tablets it began.
Im not gonna lie, cause like the doctor told me, miscarriages can be painful. And especially if they are induced. Triple the pain, but over and done with in triple the time. So if you are prone to bad period pain, or dont have a high pain threshold, get yourself some panadeine forte and a hot water bottle. And get someone to stay with you. I fell off the toilet and almost fainted from the pain, had no one there to catch me lol. You will need lots of cuddles to make you feel better too.
Sorry for the long post, just writing what I wish I would have heard before mine. Hopefully you are one of the lucky ones who hardly have any pain :fingerscrossed:
Goodluck babe, hope everything goes well. Let me know if you need to know anything else. Be good to yourself hun :hugs:

butterfli - Yes we told family/friends after our 13 week NT scan. It's amazing how rude people are, asking my dh & I "did you do ivf?" It's none of their business, I didn't ask them on how they got pregnant!!
So glad your scans went well :smiliedance:
looloo711 - Your HCG levels look fabo, I bet you are counting down the days until the 17th
sarahandchaz - I was going to buy a foetal Doppler, let me know what you think of it. So glad to hear you had a wonderful birthday holiday :celebrate:
Loveabug - Nooooooooooooooooooooooo, I am so sorry to hear that. I hope you find the strength soon to get back on the horse :hugs:
Gemini85 - great advise hun :hugs:
AFM - I've had some yellow discharge recently, not much, apparently it is the built up of oestrogen. Also had some mild cramping, this is apparently the uterus expanding. I hope all is good. I see my OBGYN on the 12th, this Thursday so :fingerscrossed:
 to everyone else.
Thank you for the warm welcome ladies! Sorry I've been MIA due to constant headaches+sleepiness.
BTW, I'm on my phone so it'd be so kind if someone can help adding me to the due date list please? :)
Anya - 4 Nov (twins, so date is now 14 Oct)
14w 3d today. So far I have lost 2 kg & still haven't gain any weight yet. Bump is already showing & getting bigger though. Totally love it! :-)
Acne has never been this out of control. Also have been experiencing more intense/frequent lower right+left abdominal pains (around the ribcages) since 14w, I hope it's just the uterus working hard & expanding to accomodate my growing bubs :-)
Now I have to take care rolling over in bed, which I never thought I'd experience so early :-)
@ladymoz, same here, I've had some yellow
discharge too but OBGYN said not to worry. Meanwhile keep us updated on your OBGYN appointment this thursday! I'll see mine next friday (20th).
Hope everyone is having a great week! TTYS.

Hi ladies,
I do try to read to keep up, but don't manage to write. I'm on my phone so this one is all about me.
Big warm hugs to anyone who needs one.
My date has bee brought forward to the first of October, because they're twins.
I'm now 16 +5, and still tired, is anyone else still struggling? My dr wants me to finish work now, but that's just rediculous. I do shift work and am on my feet all day. But instead I've dropped my hrs to part time and will maybe swap to casual in a few weeks. 24 weeks sounds much more reasonable. Anyone else finishing early?
I've started on extra vits and trying to eat well but just not hungry and so tired! And now i think I have sciatica (?).
My poor DH, I completely lost it last week over the fact he hadn't done the dishes for two days ( the dishes were about 12 hrs old except for ONE mug that had been in the sink for two days) and he had dug up the weeds but left them in a pile on the grass. The tears and yelling may have been over the top! I'm currently on holidays in Sydney, so I think he's hoping the old me comes home!
I hope everyone is well, and maybe bouncing thru their second trimester?

Hello Ladies,
Loveabug - hugs....I cant imagine how hard it must be. It sucks that we dont get any testing between the 8 week scan and the 12 week one. I hope everything works out for you xx
Speckled - I am also REALLY tired, I go to bed at least an hour earlier than I normally would. I'm lucky in that I can choose whether I spend the day in the office (at a desk) or out in the field. I also have lost weight. I think a lot is due to the fact that I used to run a lot, then I stopped at the beginning of this cycle and I think all my muscle turned to fat! Im down about 3.5 kg, but I think I put on 1kg while in hawaii from eating their digusting food! My appetite has definitely changed, I get hungry in the blink of an eye, but cant stomach as much in a sitting as I used to. I even felt sick a the smell of bacon this morning....bacon is normally my FAVOURITE food!
Ladymoz - I've got the doppler now, but have only tried to use it once with no luck. I will keep you posted, its probably a little early for me to be able to hear it yet.
AFM - I had my MW appointment on Monday, all went well, she managed to hear find the heartbeat with the doppler (162 bpm...which I think is ok, HB supposed to slow to 165 or thereabouts at the end of week 11, I am 11wks 5 days) and with a dodgy scanner (she said she wasnt trained to use it but reckoned she could get it on screen). Bubs was doing spins in there! The picture wasnt very clear but there was definitely a lot of movement going on down there. I have booked in for my NT scan on Tuesday next week, then see the OBSGYN on Friday of that week. Fingers crossed it all goes well. I was relieved to hear a heartbeat after 4 weeks of not knowing anything!

Lovebug - :hugs: hope Af come fast for you!
 to the rest, I have been reading but not posting as still a bit anxious till 13 weeks!
Just a quick one. Had my 1st ob scan thu and it went really well, its my OB I had with DS so was very comfortable and he and his wife have had over 13 cycles of ivf so he totally understand what we have gone through - we *****ed about the cost of the ivf/icsi. I had to laugh when he said he told one of the owners of the FS "that dont tell me you dont make much money from IVF when you have just bought an Aston Martin and 2 Lamborgnins this week " my ob is very straight to the point - which we prefer!
He said baby was going really well and that if I am worried at all just to pop in from now to my next appt with him and he will just do a quick scan to check that its all fine and no gap for it:goodvibes:
Sending everyone :babydust1:
Hi everyone,
I haven't been on for a while. Life has been so busy.
But now our little one has gone. Scan on Friday showed no heartbeat and no growth since our last scan at 10 weeks.
D&C tomorrow.
It has been such a long journey and we thought this was our time but it just gets harder. So many weeks of trying not to worry and now our worst fears have come true. How can I keep believing in this dream? How could I bear not to?

Wait4u - I am so so sorry babe. Its just not fair is it. Hope you are doing ok. Well as well as expected in this situtation :hugs:
Hope your D&C goes ok today. Make sure you get plenty of rest afterwards xoxo
anya - Congrats, another lot of twins to join the club :celebrate: I lost weight too early on and actually I am quite surprised how much I have been eating and I haven’t gained weight. I am a small frame but I am sure it will catch up to me. My bump is really showing and I love it!! My skin will look "glowing" one week then the next acne :( Thanks for your advice re the yellow discharge, thankfully my obgyn said it's normal. I look forward to hearing about your scan on Friday.
Butterfli - How was your son's first birthday? How amazing he took his first steps, how precious!!! All the best for your NT scan in 2 weeks.
sarahandchaz - All sounds great with you, bubs doing spins, how cute. I hope you get some nice piccies of bub at your NT scan tomorrow.
second baby not so easy - Glad your ob scan went really well. That's good you were able to get the same obgyn. Yes my fs drives flashy cars, travels 1st class everywhere, we are in the wrong industry girls!!! I wouldn’t mind an Aston Martin and 2 Lamborghinis. You are lucky to be able to pop in and see your obgyn at any time. I am going to visit my fs when I am a bit bigger to "show off my bump" :D
Loveabug, wait4u, Gemini85 :hugs:
AFM - my obgyn scan went well. One bub was sleeping and the other was waving at us (well kind of) I fainted just before seeing him, he said its because our bodies are pumping 50% more blood and my heart is on overdrive. It was not a fun feeling, seeing the room spin (I felt really drunk he he) then I couldnt feel my legs and whamo I was on the ground. Luckily it didn't last long.

I've had many peope ask me when enough would be enough for us, but I've never even contemplated that we wouldn't have children, we'd just keep on going and get there eventually....I hope you do too xxx

Sarah - How did you scan go today? great results I hope!
Ladymoz - Yay for your bump! How cool, I cant wait for mine. Enjoy lovely
Butterfli - Not long now till your 12 week scan, how exciting. Did your son enjoy his first birthday? btw our due date is the 27th of Dec, not sure how to add to roll call, thanks
AFM - had our 8 week scan today, and HB was 163 per min, was so awesome to hear. Bubs is measuring perfect and spot on, so has really eased my mine, as we were a bit nervous going in as had no symptoms whatsoever, which I guess is lucky in a way. Have another scan at 10 weeks with OB and again at 12 weeks, I hope it goes quick.

Hi Ladies,
Just a quick update from me....NT scan went well bubs jumping around, HB 159 saw it drinking the amniotic fluid and then the fluid in it's stomach! Skin fold looks ok, still waiting for blood results to get downs probability.

Just wanted to thank everyone for your kind and thoughtful words.

Hello Ladies,
It's been quiet in here.....
I saw my Obs for the first time on Friday, he seems nice, I have heard some people don't like his bedside manner, that doesn't really phase me as long as he can get this baby out of me safely! My NT scan results were good, trisomy 21 (downs) is 1:510, it's 1:475 for my age anyway, so a good result. It is 1:19000 odd for all the other bad ones.....so phew! Have been sharing our good news with lots of people! Saw bubs again in a grainy scan and with a Doppler....I think its better hearing the heartbeat than seeing a grainy picture!
Hope everyone is doing great,
Sarah x

Butterfli - I had to wait a couple of days, its the blood test that takes the most time. I had my blood test the morning before my scan, on a monday and got the results on the Friday.......GOODLUCK :fingerscrossed:
looloo711 - I'm glad to hear your 8 week scan went well. It is so amazing to hear the heart beat :smiliedance:
Butterfli - Sorry to hear you ended up with gastro. I look forward to hearing about your 12 scan results from today.:fingerscrossed: I hope you enjoy seeing your little bean wriggling around.
sarahandchaz - I'm glad you like your OBGYN, mine is lovely too. Great results from your NT scan, it’s such a relief isn’t it! Enjoy this time of telling all your family and friends your wonderful news. :cheerleader1:
AFM - I am feeling the babies kick me now which is sooooooooooooo wonderful. I think my husband must be sick of me saying "I just got a kick" The baby on my RHS yesterday felt like it was doing a little dance :p Everyone is saying that I am quite small for someone who is 18 weeks pregnant with twins but I am seeing it as a good thing, plenty of time for me to grow compared to if I was exploding already.

Hi Mums to Be!
How is everyone going?
Ladymoz - how cool is the kicking feeling!? And to have 2 of the little angels at you. WOW!
Butterfli - have you gotten results yet? I hope your 12 week scan went perfectly and you have been busy sharing your news with everyone you come across!!
Sarah - have you also been telling everyone? I cant wait till we can share the news
HI to everyone else.
SOOO, random question, might get things moving along a bit. Who has names picked or shortlisted?? And who is going to find out about sex of baby?
AFM - have first OB appointment on Wed for 10 week scan. Then not long till we can Start Spreading the News!!
Hi looloo711,
Ohh I bet you are counting down the days until you can start spreading your wonderful news. It was such a nice feeling when we told family and friends, seeing all their reactions. So spesh! I can't wait to hear all about your next scan :goodvibes:
Yes it is so amazing to feel the little ones kick, the baby on the right kicks more than the one on the left but it's placenta is in the way. My next big scan appointment is Thursday, we are still not sure what to do in regards to finding out the sex. Can anyone offer some advise to me please? To find out or not to find out???? If it was one baby I think I would keep it a surprise, but 2, I'm not so sure. I am so split on this. arggggggg :freakingout: We want to have the nursery themed in 'African' as I was born in S.A. We already have some stuffed African animals like giraffe's, monkey's etc... and we have seen some gorgeous animal African themed cot linen, curtains etc.... I am an impatient person so part of me would love to know. Also not knowing I will need to have 4 names ready instead of 2 and that's hard enough . I have one favorite girl names but boys I am finding hard. I like 'power names' too where the first initial of the first name is the same as the first initial as the surname ie (don't laugh, it's all this baby brain can think of at the moment, Kim Kardashian)
I hope all the pregnant ladies on our little thread are doing fabulously

well, my 19 week scan yesterday did not go well.
Bubs have developed perfectly, but my cervix was opening. Most are about 50mm long and mine was only 9mm. The top had opened but thankfully the bottom had not dilated, but the membranes were bulging down the cervix. I was admitted to the womens hospital, had a cervical suture put in, and am now stuck here on bed rest for at least 5 weeks, and then if I'm lucky I can finish my bed rest at home for the remainder of the pregnancy.
The bubs are very small, so they think the placentas aren't working well, and so my body was going to miscarry them. And they are now worried that I have a uterine infection, if I do I will go into premature labor as early as next week.
So it looks like I will be having them early, just fingers cross they come after 28 weeks.
On the up side I am now allowed toilet privileges and i can sit up while I eat!

Hi all, I haven't posted for a while but have 12 week scan this week so can't wait til we can tell everyone!
Ladymoz - I would find out with two only because my friend ended up with twin boys but was convinced she was having one if each and didn't have an extra name picked out :-). We are only having one and are going to find out anyway so it is a personal decision I guess.
Speckled - sorry to hear about you being on bedrest! I really hope those babies hang in there for quite a few weeks longer for you. Thinking of you and sending lots of hugs and good vibes :-)
Names I have been thinking are Emily Rose for a girl and Ethan or Sebastian for a boy. DH likes Alexander for a boy which I quite like or Katrina for a girl which I don't really like at all. DH doesn't really like any if my names lol and I hate his so we will have some fun debates coming up.

Looloo, how are you going? Not long till your 10 weeks scan. Time just drags on but its all worth it when you get to see your bub each time during the scan. I’ve sort of tossed around a few names with DH some get a complete arhh um no and the other names he is oking so they’re shortlisted. Are you going to find out the sex of your bub? Funny enough I know the sex of mine…. Read the AFM section ;)
Ladymoz, how lovely that you are now feeling your bubs kick and prod you. Its so reassuring. I can’t wait to get to that stage. I’m sure towards the latter stages you will be growing heaps as bubs gets bigger. It’s a good thing you haven’t put on much yet so your still comfortable. Last time I only managed to put on 11kgs and I actually weigh less at this stage of the pregnancy than last time. I put on 5kg with OHSS so I was glad to get rid of that. Chasing after my DS is my excercise :) Love the African theme idea that sounds really nice. I stuck to good ole winnie the pooh here with DS not sure yet with the next one.
Speckled, how are you, sounds like you’ve had a bit of a rough trot. The blessing is that they’re keeping a close watch on you and your twins to make sure that all three of you are safe . I’m praying that they stay snuggled to at least 28 weeks for you. You could be our first. Take care hun and rest as much as you can. As soon enough you’ll be run off your feet with two bubbas :hair:
Maybebaby74, Best of luck for your 12 week scan this week, I hope it all goes really well for you. I love the name Sebastian and so does DH its on our short list too as well as Zachary. Its so exciting picking names although agreeing with DH can be a struggle at times. For some reason he has to relate to a celebrity or someone he knew / knows from primary school or something….and gets turned off . Who cares they won’t know our baby
AFM as you know I had my NT scan last Tuesday….. well that didn’t go too well....... although my bub is measuring 4 days ahead so that was excellent. But they were worried about D/S due to the measurement of the neck. They couldn’t get any blood out of me (tried twice!!!) I thought I’ve been going through so many needles due to IVF so that was a first. But they didn’t bother in the end. So obviously I was devastated that I had 1 / 5 chance of my baby having D/S. DH had to meet me there as I wasn’t in a good state and I had my DS with me. The receptionist rang my OB and he wanted to see us straightaway to have a chat so we went afterwards. :freakingout:
Anyway I ended up having a CVS on Thursday which wasn’t too bad but I was very scared and had next to no sleep with worry (DH took a couple of days off as I couldn’t do any lifting including my DS). Then on Friday afternoon I got the phone call……………. and I got the ALL CLEAR that my bub doesn’t have D/S I was so relieved.
Obviously we are both still shell shocked over the weekend about what happened and we didnt' end up spreading our news. I think we’ll wait till next week end and hopefully we can get excited again. At the moment I just feel like keeping it to ourselves till I know 100% that every part of my baby is ok but that’s not possible I know.
Sorry about the bit of a downer post but now you can see why I wasn’t up to writing about it earlier. But at least so far it had a good ending… and another thing I’m having another boy :cheerleader2::cheerleader2::cheerleader2: so I’m happy to give DS a playmate but shocked I know already!!

HI All!
Butterfli - how anxious you must have been! Thank god it all worked out for the best. And to know that you are having another little man, how very exciting at least now, you name picking can be halved!
Ladymoz - I like you idea of "power names" cant say I have ever heard that before, although with twins it would be even cooler, don't most twinnies share the same first intial...Not sure about finding out the sex I gues only you can make that call, but the African theme sounds great coz can be for both if you have one of each.
Speckled - Sounds like you are having a rough trot. Bed rest must be a bit frustrating, I hope things stay alright and your bubbas are in there for as long as possible!!
Maybebaby - When is your 12 week scan? Hope you dont have to wait long for results. Alexander is nice I like that, I think though only coz I like Xander as nick name. Emily Rose is classic love it.
AFM - Had 10 week scan today and bubba is measuring 1 day ahead, and was grooving! Was a very active little one, was so amazing. Very happy with our OB, he made us very comforatble. We have a boys name picked, have decided on Carter. Still tossing up girls names but have shortlisted Sophia, Lila,Serena (DH not so keen) and Eva. We originally wanted Eva, but have had a neice since named Ava, so I think is too close, DH still wants it though. We are not going to find out sex, our theory is we didn't get the surprise as such as when we found out we were preggers so would like to keep the sex a surprise.

Looloo- 12 week scan was today but more about that later. I love Sophia too but SIL just called her new little one Sophie. Glad your scan went well - I love them just to see the baby!
Butterfli - you must be so relieved that everything is okay, 12 week scan can be really scary - sorry you had to go through all that hope you feel all excited again now :-)
Speckled - how are you feeling, hope the bedrest isn't driving you too batty.
2nd - goodluck for your scan next week, hope it all goes well!
Afm - had 12 week scan today and it was lovely to see our baby again. The scan took an hour as the sonographer couldn't get a good view of the nuchal bit as baby decided to lie flat on his back with spine right against the bottom of my uterus. He also kept flipping and doing rolls so very cute but very uncooperative. It us measuring 12 weeks 1 day and I know I am 12 weeks exactly so that is good news. Won't know til mon what the risk of D/S is but we are going to tell everyone this weekend as we are sick of keeping it a secret
:-)
Hope you are all well!
speckled - Rest up honey. It sounds like your doc's have found this early, imagine if they hadn't. :goodvibes: Good vibes for you. Stay put babies! :cheerleader2::cheerleader1:
Maybebaby74 - :celebrate: for your 12 week scan. And now to be telling the world your terrific news is truly magical.
butterfli - Congratulations, a boy woot woot :cheerleader2::smiliedance: So glad everything came back clear, such a relief.
second baby not so easy - :fingerscrossed: for your scan next Friday. I look forward to hearing about the great results!!!
looloo711 - :hyper: I love the name Carter, I too thought of that name but my surname just didn't sound right with it. So glad to hear your 10 weeks scan was perfect.
AFM - Had the 19 week scan on Friday. Twin one was a little wriggler, it kept moving from its tummy to its back. Twin 2 co-operated perfectly. I just love seeing them on the 3D/4D scans, I wish I could get them done more often. The only bit of negative was that the placentas are sitting close to my cervix. Nothing to be concerned about now, the OBGYN said its completely normal this early on in the pregnancy and also with twins not allowing as much room as a single pregnancy, he just hopes as my uterus grows so too do the placentas. If not I just have a risk of bleeding so lots of bed rest for me if they find the placentas have not moved at my 28 week scan. :fingerscrossed: We didn't find out the sexes of the babies even though it was very tempting!

Hi all,
Looloo - 12 week scan went really well with risk of downs being 1 in 924 so we are pretty happy with that :-). It was funny though it took almost an hour to get the measurements for the
Neuchal tube as bubba didn't want to cooperate, it was lying in the perfect position but flat against the bottom if my uterus so they had to be sure they were measuring the right line. I ended up having a second sonographer come in and finish the scan. I also had to go and empty my bladder half way through as it was too full and she said count to 15 and then stop. I tried stopping but was still going at 30 lol anyway they finally got what they needed after making me cough and roll from side to side. It was pretty funny as bubba just didn't want to move but I felt quite bruised the next day.
I think I have just popped tonight - does it happen that quickly? I felt some stretching and them whammo big tummy :-). Also wondering
If it hurts more to get your legs waxed when pregnant?
Hope everyone is well and we have more postings soon.
Looloo - exciting for scan on 16th

Maybybaby - glad the nt went well, some days I feel bigger than others lol. I have heard that waxing hurts more but I dont know
AFM - will we had our 12 wk nt scan last friday took a bit to get due to baby laying back to us but it was soooo good to see him/her moving and kicking. Came back with a low risk thank goodness. Baby was already measuring 3 days ahead which is good and normal compared to DS1 was like that as well - as my dh is 6ft 4 and im only 5ft 2  Now that we are 13 wks and in 2nd trim I feel so much more relieved and will be here a bit more.

Morning girls,
Maybybaby - I get headaches every few days and have gotten some real bad ones, but I got this with ds1 too.

AFM - im only 13 & 3 days and dont want to go to work, or cant be bothered really . Yay Speckled (I wrote to you on the Perth thread as well)....great to hear you are alive and well! We were beginning to wonder! So, are they planning to keep you there indefinitely? Will they bring them on prem? or is it just a wait and see??
Tatijana - Welcome! Tell us all about yourself!
AFM - 16w4d today.....Just plodding along waiting for our 19 week scan in 3 weeks.....we have decided to find out what we are having...only because I can stand not knowing!! hats off the you ladies you dont, I just cant handle the suspense!! I have been getting headaches too, usually early morning and at night, they usually only last a few hours....apparently it is our bodies reaction to our massively increased blood flow...I have a little book that suggests drinking milk (??? beats me why, but I have been and it seems to do the trick, Ive only had to resort to panadol a few times). Just starting to show a bit now, usually more when Im busting for a wee or have a full belly ...........im also on the look out for some NICE maternity clothes, something that doesnt make me look like im wearing a sack!
Sarah x
:celebrate: for Speckled sounds like those bubs are hanging tight!
So glad to hear everyone is plodding along nicely :hyper:
I am 21 weeks today,16 weeks to go :smiliedance: no complaints really, just tired all the time. Struggled this morning to put my stockings on with this baby bump in the way
I haven't bought any maternity clothes yet, just the belt extenders from Target which I find really great. I finish work in 6 weeks then I have 9 weeks of rest to make sure these twins stay put!! In that time I plan to live in comfortable tracky dacks at home so I don't want to be buying maternity clothes if I can help it. My DH and I are about to start doing some bub purchasing which is exciting. I want to get the nursery set up before my dh leaves o/s for work in a few weeks.

Hi Mummas,
Speckled - thats great to hear things are looking up a bit, and those bubbas are hanging in tight! And you are allowed to sit now, excellent!
Ladymoz - Wow it is moving so quick those little ones will be here before you know it! You must be doing ok for not getting any maternity clothes yet. I just brought the belt extenders as well, my jeans just dont fit like they used too!
Secondbaby- Thats good about your NT scan, I bet you feel better now and get start telling people.
Hope everyone else is doing ok!
AFM - Had our NT scan today and unfortunately have come back as "high risk" lady said everything was looking ok except for the blood work the PAPP-A came back too low and has given us a 1:118 chance. Bit of shock as I went in not really expecting that! So OB has suggested doing the Amnio test rather than CVS as he is pretty confident we should be ok and has said the Amnio is safer for Miscarriage risk. I think they do this around 16 weeks?? What does everyone else think? We havn't given OB an answer yet if we want the CVS or Amnio....
butterfli
16-06-2011, 18:04
Looloo, Sorry to hear of your news its a bit of a shock as I have also been through it myself recently.
I could be wrong but my understanding was the CVS was safer than the amino as with the CVS they only draw blood out of the placenta whereas the Aminio they actually pierce the sac to collect Amionic fluid.
In which case I did the CVS and had no problems (they checked the baby again afterwards), this was done at 14 weeks. The recovery wasn't too bad either. I also thankfully got the all clear from downs.
Good luck its a hard decision to make and we had a few sleeplesss nights over it. I kept calling the registered nurses there to make sure I had all the info.
looloo711 - I am so sorry about your NT scan. Let’s hope your OB's Amnio test comes back all clear. Sorry I can't answer your question as I don't know too much about this but butterfli had some great first hand info for you. :fingerscrossed: for you babe
Hey, my jeans don’t fit like they used to either. I think I am going to have to succumb and buy some maternity pants

wow ladymoz, well done in only having to buy Maternity pants at 22 weeks. You must be carrying your twinnies very well.
I'm 16 weeks tommorrow and still managing to fit into my normal jeans but I doubt I'll last another month in them.
I had one of those elastic things to put over the jeans buttons (forget what its called) that I used for my first pregnancy but do you think I can find where I put it
Maternity clothes are so expensive, I haven't brought any this time (yet). Last time my pregnancy was the opposite season. So everything I have is too summerish to wear. Its freezing at the moment in Sydney.
Hope everyone's pregnancies are going well. Another 3 weeks to my morphology scan can't wait.

AFM - will for the last 6 weeks ive been feeling really tired and have had throat infection, last week after numerous tests like hooping cough, its come back I have glandular fever (only mild case) so I was thinking I was really tired due to pregnancy!. Ive also got reflux, ive never had this before so didnt know what it was. So now ive got my family more on my back to rest  more now!! So I have to just pace myself on getting everything organised. Also were not finding out what the sex is, we didnt for ds and it was awesome.
But who here is finding out or not finding out and is there anyone that has found out yet?
second baby not so easy - We are not finding out the sexes of the twins. I think we have at least one baby girl, maybe 2!!! I have never had a sweet tooth and that is all I want! Cakes, Desserts, Lollies, anything. We tried to do the old piece of cotton and a ring trick over my baby bump but it didn't go in a circular motion or a straight up and down, it did this weird thing
Had my 22 week appointment with the obgyn today. Both bubs were very active, both heart beats are strong :celebrate: They are positioned where their feet are kind of touching. We could see them kicking each other, so cute
Today I booked in my antenatal classes but that's not for another few weeks.

ladymoz - with DS1, i went off sweets, I had all the old wifes tales of having a boy so I thought I was having a girl . This time around again have gone of sweets but also craving other stuff so dont know, at 1st I thought boy, then girl then like  we will find out in 5 or so months :smiliedance:
twins!! wow I think even I would be tempted to find out and I am a big one on not finding out.
second baby not so easy - Yeah my DH and I were certain we would find out the sexes of the twins but then something changed in us. I think the reality came that I will be having a C-section due to having twins (my obgyn has not recommended a natural birth & besides one baby has been breached from day one and is unlikely to change and also so far my placentas are low lying which means a C-section anyway) Everything was feeling really regimented so we thought if we had one element of surprise it wouldn’t feel like that. We also decided on a nursery theme. I ordered some removable wall stickers off www.etsy.com (http://www.etsy.com/) we have gone with an 'African' theme so that's pretty unisex which made us change our decision too. I can't wait to do up the nursery.
We are going to the baby expo this weekend which I am looking forward to, chaaa kiiiiing.... shopping!

Ladymoz- yeah I suppose u might get 1 of each anyways!!! We love the surprise and everyone is waiting to see what it is!!!
Afm- we had on appt today, ob said I was all fine and bubs is going well, wiggling around. Bub is really long and ob couldn't believe how long it's legs were!! Takes after me not!! I'm 5ft 2.

Ladymoz : we like surprises! One element of surprise (positive) is definitely nice, that's how dh and I feel and why our lil one will be a surprise (or green baby) until he/she is born!
Great to read positive scans!
25 wks tomorrow... Stoked!
Hit me today that I have 9 weeks till maternity leave and 15 till bubs edd... I am simply excited! People keep asking if I am nervous, or they just don't believe me when I say I am not... :-0 I am too eager to meet bub to worry, we have planned for different things, enacted plans for different things that might cause stress, but figure we have wanted this bub for soooo long that worrying is just not part of anything but negative vibes... Let's keep focused on positives and deal with whatever comes our way;-) laugh, cry, sleep, lay awake, whatever.... :-)

Tatijana I love your attitude its the best way to be. My DH & I had the same attitude when our first DS was born and I honestly can't remember it being that hard, I found it fun I love every moment especially discovering new things about my baby, I waited so long to have my own.
Oh sure you are going to be tired at times and spewed on, dealing with uncontrollable crying etc but as you get to know your baby things will fall into place and you will know what he or she wants. If in doubt I found milk always settled him down  and mummy / dad hugs of course :).
Well done to the ladies not finding out the sex!! :D
Looloo, how are you going?? Hope all went well with your amiono. I'm still very nervous waiting for my 20 week scan as the Nuchal measurement was so high.

Hi All
Thanks Butterfli for asking. Have booked for the Amnio on the 6th, had too wait till 15 weeks. Bit scared......Did it hurt or is it nothing compared to Egg Collection? Finally brough a belly band the other day, but still in between so bit frustrating when trying to find stuff to wear!!
Can't wait to hit up the shops!!
Will keep you posted about Amnio, little bit selfish but soooo looking forward to a couple days off!!

Best of luck for the 6th Looloo I'm sure it will be all fine. Mine was a CVS not an amino but the process is still pretty much the same.
I was very scared initially too but it wasn't so bad (I kept my eyes shut!) I couldn't feel much as they give you a local anesthetic. I had my hubby and 13 mth old in the room with me for comfort. I didn't let DS watch though and had him facing the other way!
They do another scan afterwards to check that bubs is all ok and then they take you to a quiet room for a cuppa but I just wanted to go home. I wasn't allowed to do any lifting at all (including my DS) for a couple of days. The recovery pain wasn't so bad, EPU is definitely worse!
Its also a good chance for you to rest up and let DH wait on you hand and foot
Also its a chance to find out the sex of the baby if you wanted to... I was too curious! mmmm are you going too?
 Pregnant Mummas.
Just checking in and seeing how everyone is doing. It's quiet on here. I suppose no news is good news hey.
Second baby not so easy - Your baby has long legs hey, probably booting you a lot too.
Tatijana - 25 weeks already, I think you must be the closest to their due date?? I am 23 weeks now but I will probably have these bubbas before you have yours since twins normally arrive earlier. I pray with everything that they don't arrive before their due date. Only 4 weeks until I go on maternity leave which I will then wrap myself up in cotton wool.
butterfli - I bet you are counting down the days until that 20 weeks scan :fingerscrossed: for you babe
looloo711- Not long hun until the 6th :fingerscrossed: for you too honey. After everything us ivf girls have been through to get pregnant I keep thinking that surely "they" can't be that cruel to us!!!
AFM nothing to report really. My hubby has gone o/s for work  back in 6 weeks. My bump is getting bigger but people say I am small for 23 weeks with twins. I was a small frame before getting pregnant and so far I'm all babies. I have developed a sweet tooth which tells me I have one or two girls at least, I think the weight will pile on when I stop working. It's amazing now as not only do these babies kick me a lot, I can see my tummy move when they do so. It brought me to tears watching these movements the other night. It does look a bit alien like though :)

:smiliedance:Hello Mummas
just wanted to check in and see how all the little miracles are going, and by the looks of things your are going so well.
AFM well we are trying again this month but still have to wait until the end of the month for the FET :( so still waiting but fingers crossed this is our month.
:highfive:Congratulations everyone

Hello Ladies,
Loveabug - good luck for your FET at the end of the month, I hope time flies til then. Your luck youve got HEAPS of frosties to fall back on....but hopefully just the one will do it! :fingerscrossed:
Looloo711 - I have heard plenty say that the amnio is not as bad as they'd expected. Goodluck for Wednesday :fingerscrossed:
Great to hear everyone else is moving along smoothly!
AFM - I have my 19 week scan tomorrow....little bit nervous...I have a doppler at home and can pick up the heartbeat easily, but just worried anyway, I dont think I'll totally relax until I pass about the 30 week mark. Im still not showing much for 19 wks and constantly having people say 'wow, you're REALLY small for 19 wks' or 'you dont even look pregnant' doesn't really help when I'm already anxious that bubs it not 'growing' at the right rate...only one more sleep til we find out.
We are going to find out the sex tomorrow if bubs co-operates....I want to know for this first one, if we are lucky enough to have any more I think we'd let it be a surprise....though I'm not very good at surprises! Hubby has to buy my birthday and xmas present as close to the day as possible, otherwise I'm snooping ;)
Have to book into the hospital at the end of the week when I turn 20 weeks and fork out $2000 for my obs delivery fee....from what I've heard thats a pretty good rate?? I will be delivering in a private hospital. The rest is bl00dy expensive though, its $90 everytime I see the obs, but zip if its just the midwife!...but I spose not as bad as IVF expenses....

SarahandChaz, best of luck with your Morphology scan tommorrow I'm sure everything will be just fine. How exciting that your going to find out the sex! your hubby is like mine and gets presents for me the last day, so I dont' check out the credit card beforehand and have a peak! He tries so hard to surprise me with different things but I ruin it everytime unintentionally of course ;)
My OB fee is $2300, so just a little higher than yours but you said you have to pay each time you visit your OB $90, mine is all included and doesn't cost anything. Although for the special scans such as NT and morphology they are elsewhere and I have to pay between $200-300 for those. Thankfully we're over the threshhold due to IVF so majority I get back.
Loveabug, best of luck with your FET I hope its a sticky one for you, keep us updated :fingerscrossed:
Looloo, best of luck for Wednesday the process doesn't even take more than 5 minutes and I had my eyes shut! I remember even saying to them, this isn't as bad as I thought. Good luck :hugs:
Ladymoz, thats a long time your DH is away, I hope it goes fast for you both. Thats amazing that your bubs are kicking and you can see your tummy move, I can't wait for that to happen and it will feel more real.
AFM nothing to report just plodding along waiting for my Morphology scan Thursday week away. 18 weeks this Wednesday, have popped out a little bit. I love it when my DS rests his head on my bump, he is only 13 months. Thankfully still fitting into my jeans so far.

Hey girls!,
Tatijana - less than 9 weeks to go before you leave work!! lucky :hyper:. Im aggreance with you I cant wait for the birth as at the end of the day you will be holding your new baby :p
Butterfli - :fingerscrossed: and goodluck with 20 wk scan
Looloo - only 2 more days for your scan and :fingerscrossed: its all fine
Ladymoz - For size of bellies it doesnt really represent the true side of the baby sometimes, my girlfriend was really small and was ready to smack someone  when there like wow ur tiny are you sure your .... wks, she ended up with a 9pd baby that even suprised me!!!!
Lovebug - :fingerscrossed: this is your month
Sarah&Chaz - goodluck with 19wk scan, (ive still got 3 wks to go!) when people say how tiny you are it would defiantly play on our insecurities (sp) but as per Ladymoz is doesnt all ways mean a small bubs and you might just be hiding it better :)
AFM - regarding private ob's I think mine is around $2000 also, appts are about $60 and the u/s they just charge medicare so I dont have to pay it. Nt and 19 wk scan are around $230-300. So it looks like a lot of us our similar in costing. This is roughly the same as with DS1. We had to pay a gap at the private hospital as Dh stayed there the whole time and we payed $35 a day for him for boarding and food, which was sooo awesome which is why we choose that hospital as it is "family" focussed and we are going back there again. Talking about hospitals gets me all excitied :hyper:and way ahead of myself I still have 24 weeks to go
Im actually showing alot (sorry!) my belly button is pushed up and im carrying really high (similar to DS1) It's nice to look pregnant after so many years trying to get here, and im soooo enjoying it.
But I have been so sick, I catch every cold going around, over the weekend I spent most of it in bed with a head cold. I get stretching feelings and sore tummies. My boobs are so sore and I leaked a bit from 1 b00b on the weekend ( I am already looking like dolly parton ) . I am also feeling the fluttering the last few weeks and cant wait to actually see my tummy move. So its now starting to feel so much "real" now. So apart from feeling like crap due to the colds I am really enjoying the changes.
How is everyone going in the winter period? is there a vitamin I should be taking extra to try and keep all these colds away?
sarahandchaz
05-07-2011, 23:08
It's 85% girl.... No wiggly bits seen on scan!!
:))))
Second baby not so easy - I agree, some larger girls look really pregnant and have tiny babies. I just wish people would keep their comments to themselves, I suppose though I better get used to it because I know everyone in my life will become 'twin experts' when these babies are born. I just have to suck it up, I just don't think I will be able to when I will be running on little to no sleep and have 2 babies suck the life out of me. I think I may snap at my mother-in-law :freakingout:

HI Girls!
Just got results back from Amnio and have been given the ALL CLEAR!:smiliedance:
Now we can move on and start to get things ready to meet this lil bubba. Have been looking for some furniture and car seats so far, nothing purchased yet though, but looking forward to getting nursery set up!
Sarahandchaz - :cheerleader1: Yay for a little girl.
Our OB fee is $2400 and $80 each time we see him, so yours is cheaper. Does anyone know if and how much you get back Medicare?
secondbaby - Sorry to hear about the flu. I'm pretty lucky that way dont get sick hardly. Wow for movement I can't wait, but this is our first, so I'm not sure if I will be able to tell with first movements.
Butterfli- Not long till you can see bubs again! Our little one wasn't moving much yesterday, just sleeping, but was well behaved for amnio and stayed away, phew! Still in my jeans aswell, but not sure for how long, have a massive muffin top:D
Ladymoz- thats a bit sucky about DH being away for so long, hope you are moving along nicely though.
How's everyone going with stretch marks? Have been using Palmers and bio oil, but I have got them already!! I suppose if your going to get them then there is not much more I can do
:celebrate::smiliedance::cheerleader1: looloo711 That is the best news I have heard all day that your bubba got the all clear woot woot
I am officially uncomfortable  I am 100% needing to buy some maternity clothes. I wore stockings yesterday and they cut my circulation off, I wore a skirt yesterday (with the zip undone) and a top over but now I can't handle anything tight touching my belly. I am in a winter dress today with knee high flat boots and feeling sooooooooooo much comfortable.
I am using Palmer's Coconut Butter and only got a couple of strechies under my (.)(.) as I wasn't using it there, am now though. I don't mind as you can't see them, glad I noticed they were starting before they became obvious. My obgyn said it's all in your genes and there is nothing you can do to prevent them. Well I am going to continue with the butter, no harm in trying.
These babies are becoming so active now. Today I could actually feel through my hand touching my belly 4 tiny feet pushing against me sooooooooooooooo precious I want to stay pregnant forever :p

Hey girls, are any of checking out the toy sales :p
Looloo - :smiliedance: for being the all clear!!!!
Sarahandchaz - wow a little girl!!!
Ladymoz - my DS1 is nearly 5 and my I still want to slap my MIL sometimes :p, as ive been so sick she said "so ur leaving work soon, as u promised dh u would take it easy etc etc" no im not even 4 months yet and my ob said I was fine - grrrr. It doesnt stop with people giving you advise this is my second pregnancy and people are still telling me what I should and shouldnt do in pregnancy :gonnagetit: .
Ive got good genes lol and got hardly any stretch marks the 1st time. my gf hate me for it, I just made sure I had at least 2 lts of water and day and I use baby oil, would have a bath once a week with baby oil in it.
AFM - to add now to my lists of sickness I have gotten a tooth ache, the tooth that I have had a root canal on, which has caused an absesos above my gums so im really sore and swallon in my cheek area. Dentsit's hands are tied a bit as im pregnant and cant take x-rays so may need to go to oral surgen to get it removed, but were trying a softer approach with antibiotics to see if that gets rid of the absesos and then hopefully I can hold off till bubs is here.
I lost it at 2 am thu morning as woke up in pain, bawling my eyes out as with all the glandular fever, broncitis, throat infection and now this I havnt had 1 day that I actually felt well and you kind of blame yourself, im not eating properly, I lifted up that bag of potatoes etc. Felt like an idiot by the arvo and the tooth wasnt as big as a problem as i thought :( Also I thought I couldnt take pandeine forte, but ob said it was class A med so it doesnt affect baby as cant go through the placenta, so I had one last night to ease the tooth and had the best sleep
A few more weeks and I have 19 wks scan :hyper:

Hi girls, its very quiet in here hope your all going well.
Just wanted to do a quick update as I had my morphology scan yesterday and thankfully everything looks like its measuring perfectly, the scan went for ages. The synographer was going over the heart in great depth but didn't pick up anything to be concerned about.
I still have get done a echocardiogram next week but they said its only a precautionary measure for a second pair of eyes to go over the babies heart.
Lots of happy tears and relief yesterday after a few weeks of worry. Finally I can start sharing my news properly to our friends and family as only a few close people knew.
Hi Butterfli,
Sooooooooooooooo glad everything went well with the morphology scan. I can imagine your tears of relief. Yayyyyyy
Our thread is a quiet little thread.
I had a little scare earlier this week. I couldn't feel the twin on my left for over 2 days, it totally freaked me out. I went to my obgyn as my stress levels were through the roof. Bub was fine, the placenta had moved. All good now, this little angel is back to kicking me like it's brother/sister does which I much prefer.
I hope everyone else is travelling well.

Sarahandchaz- yay for a little girl! I can't wait til next week when we find out :-)
Ladymoz - glad that all is well with you. It must've been very scary to not feel one of your twinnies for 2 days. Can't believe only 14 weeks left for you!
Butterflys - great news on morph scan, was there a particular reason they were worried about your babies heart? I am on medication that has the potential to cause holes in the heart so am curious :-)
Afm: everything has been going really well, I am very excited for our morph scan on Thurs and we hope to find out the sex. I am guessing boy but will be happy as long as it arrives healthy. Hope everyone is doing well.

Maybebaby74, best of luck with your Morph scan on Thursday, its a great scan and you see bubs so clearly its amazing. Its exciting your finding out what your having. I'm definitely outnumbered in my household with another boy on the way plus DS but its all great fun. As you say as long as they're healthy its the main thing.
As for the reason why they were focusing on my baby's heart it was because he had a thick nuchal fold picked up at 12 weeks NT scan. As i had a CVS it ruled out any chromsome issues like downs but the next link to watch out for (the doctors told me) was issues with the heart so we had to wait till this scan (morphology) to see. Finally I can enjoy my pregnancy.
Has anyone brought anything, we need to get so many big things. Like a car! I have a 2 door and with DS its so hard (I almost broke my nose getting him out one time). Thankfully most things we aleady have from our first child but need to get a double pram to fit DS and little bubba and I have no idea which one. Those with twinnies have you brought double prams which ones did you like or thinking of getting. We also need to get air con's installed in the bubs room as its like an oven upstairs in summer. But I'm going to have bubba in our room for at least 5 months like I did with DS so I guess by that time it will be getting cooler when its in its own room. Its feels great that i can think about this stuff now.
Hi Maybebaby74 - Ohhhh I can't wait for your morph scan on Thursday to hear the sex, if its a boy GO TEAM BLUE.
Butterfli - 37 weeks is full term for twins so I actually only have just over 11 weeks. To tell you the truth, I don't want the bubbas to come... just yet. I really love being pregnant. Feeling these precious angels kicking me. (Plus I don't mind all the attention I am getting he he) I just feel I have waited sooooooo long to get pregnant then it all happens so quickly. I feel really blessed that I am pregnant with twins but then I feel I only get one pregnancy. May have to work on my husband for another down the track he he
Yes I have bought most things. For me I felt I needed to as there is a 50% chance with twins that they come early. I wanted to feel organised. With my husband being away at the moment I have my in-laws staying with me over the weekend and we have set up the nursery. I looks a-maz-ing!!! I wanted to surprise my husband when he gets home. He's working 12 hour days 7 days a week so I want him to relax whe he gets home, not spend days setting up a nursery.
I got this gorgeous wall art off ebay 17370 And my linen is called zooluland http://www.livingtextiles.com.au/shop/category/living-textiles-baby-view-our-collection-coordinated-nursery-collection-zooluland
Yes I have purchased a double pram. It's called the Baby Jogger City Mini Double, I got it at the baby expo way cheaper than I could get it anywhere else. While I was buying it I had 3 couples walk past and say "best pram ever" It's really light and the bonus for me, I won't have time to take capsules out before compacting it down to put in the car, this pram just has 2 handles in the seat that you life up. We don't have a large car and it fits in easily. I've basically gotten most things except clothes, I am expecting at my baby shower on the 13th August that I will get lots of onesies etc.... The only big ticket items to go is a baby monitor, the playgyms and the bouncenettes. I've just started getting my hospital bag together. I am just so worried that these babies will come early and I have nothing ready.
Mwah to all xoxo

Morning girls,
Butterfli - yeah for a great scan!! We have a lot already from DS, but this time I want a capsule, bassinet (we used our pram bassinet last time), new high chair and and new musical chair
Ladymoz - not feeling the moves for awhile does stress you out. I couldnt feel a move for a few days and was starting to stress but felt him/her a bit last night. I think I would be more organised with room if having twinnies as you never know!! very cute pic
Maybybaby - goodluck with scan
AFM - We have furnitre in our nursery but it isnt set up, want to steam clean the carperts 1st. Still looking at nursery themes (as last time we have Beatirx potter theme with green wall as we didnt find out last time) but this time Im looking at painting when we have the little one. This week is the 1st time I have actually felt good, still really tired. I have been hanging out to see the baby again just over a week for my 19wk main scan. As ob appts are every 4 weeks atm- they feel so far apart lol
Im not liking this new site, as cant get the emoticons

Ladymoz, I agree its lovely being pregnant we are all so lucky to have a bubba on board and in your case 2!! I hope you'll be just as comfortable towards the end when they get so much bigger.
I was having a look at those links you posted and there are some georgeous Nursery decor items in there. I need to think of a theme for ours so it gave us some good ideas. I stuck with winnie the pooh for my DS's room and love going in there so I have to try and make this one look as good, althogh its a much smaller room.
Second baby not so easy. Its hard waiting for each OB scan I agree, I really hate the wait. But thankfully towards the end the visits go from 4 weeks, to 3 week, then 2 and 1 etc so I'm looking forward to that to make it easier.
A new musical chair sounds interesting what is that? I'm thinking this time like you to get a capsule and not use the baby car seat. I struggled trying to keep DS asleep getting him out of the car but a capsule is perfect. We might rent one I think you can from St Johns website.
AFM I had my echocardiogram yesterday and that went really well, nothing to worry about according to the heart specialist. He said my DS was extremely bouncy and active which was reassuring (but hard for him to pin down!). Even though he is active I still can't feel DS yet but he did say my placenta is in the way so he is kicking that not me.
My belly has really popped out the last week there is no hiding it now, I love it. My hubby got my son (he is only 14 months) to have a look at my tummy by lifting my top and showing him the bump. Now each night he does it, he even lifts DH's shirt! ... oops this isnt' going to be good if he does it to others but still funny
Have an OB appointment today just to check things and speak to him re. my results from the morphology & echocardiogram etc but thankfully this visit should be fine since I couldn't help it and opened the "notes for the obstetrian" to have a sneak peak!
Hope you ladies are all going well :)

Butterfli - glad the echocardiogram went well :highfive: and enjoy your ob visit today. Its funny when you see the bubs and move so much in the ultrasound but you cant really feel it - grrrrrr
Musical chairs is just the rockers with vibrating and music, we will probably get a fisher price one. I wanted one with DS, but cot, pram etc was 1st priority. I also wanted a capsule 1st time round but dh talked me out of it as we have big babies and wouldnt get our money's worth - this time, scr3w it, I want it and even if it only lasts a few months :p it has taken us so long to get here I dont want to be practical this time lol, you can hire ones from St Johns etc (but my Mum is getting the capsule) Im also getting a bassinet (as I used my pram bassinet last time) I really wanted a cane one but no where stocks them anymore  .
We havnt started our nursery yet, dh is trying to get front yard done 1st. Then we can focus on that. Also been planning our DS 5th bday which is next tuesday :celebrate: he is very excited

Hi All,
Butterfli - Thats awesome everything has come back ok. Now you can really start to get things going!!
Ladymoz - Wow that has gone so fast, you will be cuddling those bubbas before we know it.
Secondbaby - We are like you, nothing done with the nursery yet, DH has to redo our bathroom first so we are really focussed on trying to get all that done before bubs arrives. Hope you DS birthday is lots of fun!
What cots does everyone have or thinking of getting? We sorta have been looking at the Boori range, but that is sooo expensive! Does anyone know if the Bruin stuff at Toys r us is ok? Most things we are getting as "hand me downs"from the inlaws. Capsual, swing etc. We have decided on the Safe n sound premier? car seat,I think thats what its called, but mum is going to buy that for us. So really our only huge purchase are the cot and furniture.
Is a bassinet worth it or do most just go straight to cot? We have been reading "Baby Love" and it says to have bubs in your room till 6 months, will anyone else be doing that?
So sorry for the questions, but it can be so overwhelming sometimes for the first one.

Second baby not so easy, ah yes we have a second hand (from my sister) little rocker that vibrates and plays music. I agree with the capsule to get one of those, I’m going to look at the st john’s website about renting one. Hope all goes well with your DS’s 5th birthday I’m sure he can’t wait J
Looloo, good to hear from you, glad all is going well and we both can start enjoying our pregnancies more after our initial scare. To answer some of your questions, I’ll be getting a 2nd hand cot (from my sister) but I’ll get a new mattress. My DS is still in his cot and it turns into a toddler bed so he’ll stay in that (it wasn’t a brand name). I heard Boori is great though. Its good your getting a few hand me downs it definitely keeps the cost down. As for car seats we have two, one safe and sound and the other is Baby love (one for my car the other for DH's). Also BabiesRus professionally can fit them for you (you need to book in). I prefer the safe and sound one personally. I got my car seat during the BabiesRus Sale a couple of years ago.
As for whether to have a bassinet we did (another hand me down from my sister) and my DS was in my room in the bassinet for 5 months before being transferred into a cot in his own room (next door).
Its hard to say now what you will do (as I said that my DS will be in my room for a year at the time) but you’ll know whats best for you and your baby when the time is right. I found as I had a video monitor (kept at my bed side) I felt reasuured more that I can hear him and see him when I wanted without disturbing him going to his room (as I would frequently otherwise no doubt).
But whilst breast feeding (I did this for 3 months) it was just so handy having him in my room for the middle of the night feeds. Thank fully by 5 months he was sleeping through and it was more me that needed to make the adjustment of moving him into his own room but it was fine.
AFM had my OB appointment today and he confirmed all is well with bubs. He was just concerned my placenta was low lying I’m not sure exactly what this means but he is going to keep an eye on it. I’ll be having a c-section to have bubs a week before I’m due.
I had a steriliser as I was still sterilising DS's bottles and it carked it this week so I'm not going to bother to sterilise his bottles anymore. Really they say the first year is all that's required. Now I have to get another one, and its the 2nd one I've brought. Definitely the expsensive Avent electric ones are better than the cheaper microwavable one (had both).

Morning girls,
I work mon, tue and wed - hence why all the posts on those days lol
Looloo- My dad made our cot, we got the mechanical parts from steelcraft :D, it is the sleigh design from Boori which i loved but that boori cot was over $1000. My sister got a package cot, change table etc from babies r us - they are expensive but when they have specials on you can get it really cheap!.
Regarding the bassinet we had the bassinet with the pram so we used that with DS1 in our room, he was in our room too 8months as i bf till 15 months. When he out grew his bassinet about 4/5 months we actually used the porta cot in our room for awhile. All our other bedrooms are at the back of the house and ours is at the front (great once the kids are older but not so great when there babies) DS probably stayed in our room and the games room next to us longer as he would sometimes wake up during the night and #1 - I wanted to hear him straight away and #2 - I didnt want to have to get up and walk a mile to his bedroom. We just had a fisher price monitor which we used to he was about 2, it was only about $60-$70 but we took it every where. As I said this time I am wanting to splurge and get a bassinet but if im honest ds1 was a really good sleeper outside the house as I think he was comfortable in his pram bassinet as he slept in that at home - but im not telling dh that :D
Butterfli - hope the placenta moves up a bit :fingerscrossed:, so you only have really just over 18 wks to go if your having a c-section a week earlier :hyper: that sounds so close!! I threw out my sterilser when ds1 finished his bottles, so that reminds me i have to get a new one - now that I think about it, there is alot I need to re-get :freakingout:
AFM -this week is the 1st week I have actually felt really good :D, my hair and nails are growing fast and my skin looks really good - some of the great benefits of being pregnant!!
 Second baby not so easy - Butterfli - & looloo711
My DH and I got our cot(s) package at the recent Baby Expo we went to. We got the Sleigh Cot 3 in 1 Georgia in Walnut with matching change table. We also paid extra for inner spring mattresses. I bought the Avent Electric steriliser, I haven't bought any bottles yet as I am waiting to meet with a lactation consultant to offer me advise on what teats etc...
Having 2 babies is sooooooooooooo different :crib::crib: we have decided to put them in their own room, in cots when we bring them home. We just couldn't justify 2 bassinets plus 2 cots, it’s a bit different when you times everything by 2. The advantage with our house is the there is a sliding door between the nursery and the 4th bedroom so my dh and I can stay in the 4th bedroom as we will be able to hear them. We are going to buy a baby monitor, just researching brands at the moment.
Hey girls, I have a question. So on the change table I have the change table mat, it will be cold on a babies bottom, what do I put over it? I have seen those really cute like animal fluffy things at the baby shops for the change table but I dont want to get poop all over it. What have you/will you be using on your change table?
Oh second baby not so easy - I know what you mean about the benefits of being pregnant. In the beginning my skin was awful, I was getting zits, now its smooth as a babies bum and people say I am glowing :D I find I am malting more though. My nails are growing fast too.
AFM- I finish up work next Friday, I will be nearly 28 weeks. I can't believe how quickly this pregnancy has gone. It feels like fooooooooooorever to get pregnant then it goes so quickly, I wish it was the other way around.
Where is everyone, this is a quiet thread with only the 4 of us on here.

Second baby not so easy, good to hear your feeling well, I don’t know what it easy with pregnancy but my hair and skin feels better during this time. Maybe preparing us for the long sleepless nights ahead when you haven’t got time to pamper ourselves!
That’s a great idea what you did for your DS1 with the pram and bassinet being the same. My DS1 will only sleep in his cot (still to this day) and will not sleep in a pram, so I was always on a time limit to get him back home again for sleeps. I’m still in touch with my mothers group girls and always with their babies they pull some snazzy shield over the pram and off their bubs goes to sleep, even at this time their babies still sleep in their pram (bubs around 14 mths).
How are you feeling your DS1 and the new bub, I’m sure your DS1 is looking forward to the new addition, he is at a great age to understand. I’m really worried how my DS would be, as he is so young and I give him so much attention (and if I don’t he demands attention! lol) so there are interesting times ahead.
Ladymoz, I know what you mean you have it so much harder having to think of two! Good idea to put them in their own rooms, although you could always keep a bassinet / portcot in your room for emergencies. Its good that you have a room adjoining the nursery to stay in, if needed.
Wow that’s great your finishing work next week, you really need to relax before hand as you never know when twins want to make their grand entrance. I only had two weeks the first time round and I regret not taking longer.
As for what to put over the change mat, seriously my best investment was getting a packet of those cloth nappies (packets of 20 from target) I used them for everything (still) except to use for bubs bum bum hehe. I still to this day) put two of those over the change mat (with a spare matress protector on top of the mat first) and another cloth nappy over his willy (if your having a boy so there are no wee wee spurting accidents). I’m 100% those fluffy things you get at the shops will be ruined with poop in the first week and I’ve even heard some bubs (I was lucky to not have to deal with this one) have lovely poo explosions onto the wall! Arrhhh.
We’ll I leave you on that note hehe.
Would love to hear how the rest of the girls are going and whats been happening.
Thanks Butterli for that. :iagree:I have the cloth nappies for spew chucks etc... but that's a great idea. I will put that on top of the change table mat. Yes if I have any boys in here I will 100% put a cloth nappy over their willy while I change them. I think I would spew on it if it weed in my mouth :barf: Someone told me today that their newborn little girl wees as soon as they take her nappy off to change her because it's cold so I will probably do this with girls too. Chriiiiist I can't believe I will be changing 2 lots of pooey nappies, I struggle with picking up our dog poo let alone baby poop.... black, green, projectile
I get to see the babies tomorrow as I have an obgyn appointment, can't wait :smiliedance:
They are becoming more and more active now. Yesterday I thought the twin which is in the breech position was grabbing with its hand the other twins foot and pulling it. I had this alien like bump on my tummy. I LOVED it :D

I haven't really said much since I was one of the first people to post in here. I have made it to week 28 and have an ultrasound this afternoon to see if where the placenta attached has moved up at all now I am starting to get a bit bigger.
Fingers crossed it has.
After going through IVF I really didn’t realise how many antenatal appointments and tests we would have to go through during pregnancy and I think as I get closer to the due date the number of appointments is only going to increase - so time consuming but worth it.
I think we have bought most of the necessities now.... car seat, cot and pram.. Given I am 6ft, and so is my partner, I think the pram was the hardest purchase.. mainly to get one that isn’t going to break our backs from being hunched! I have lost count of how many hours I have done researching things before going out and buying them.
So glad to always read where you lovely ladies are up to, it seems like it makes the time go by a little faster. :)

Hey girls,
Butterfli - Ds1 being nearly 5 does understands it more, he goes from being frustrated "When is the baby coming out Mum" to not understanding that Mummy can't play wrestling anymore cause my Belly gets in they way and we dont want to hurt the baby. But he has gotten clingy lateley, not sure if its due to the new baby coming or a thing he is going through. But it is cute when he sits next to me a stroke my belly, or talks to the baby through my belly button. But he is in for a shock once the baby comes - he was the only grandchild either side so spoilt rotten doesnt come close  With #2 coming for you, for my friends that have had there's closer together the Dad has stepped up to pay more attention to #1 to make sure he doesnt feel left out and my gf's just say once the baby is down for a nap, spending some undivided attention to #1 and ignoring the housework lol
LAdymoz - regarding the change mat I was the same as butterfli, I just used clothes nappies and towels and used to change them daily. Regarding weeing , boys can get really HIGH!!! and once the fresh air hits them they do wee. With ds1 once I leaned over the nappy when I was opening to make sure he wasnt weeing and it hit me in the eye = eeeewwww. Another time I was leaning down putting the nappy in my nappy bin and thinking were is that water coming from and realising it was my son's waterfall
Fetus Beads - :wave:yeah there is heaps of appts, I cant wait for it to get closer as having the 4 weeks in between at the moment stresses me out. Youve only got 11 weeks to go - wow!!!
AFM - really hanging out for my 19wk main scan next thu. Every appt means I am getting closer to my due date. I am actually looking forward when I start having 3 and 2 week appts as we get to see the baby and its not too much time in between. I dont think I will totally feel relaxed untill im holding my little one, which is totally different to ds1 pregnancy.

Hi Girls,
Thanks for the advice. We were looking at boori cot and change table on Ebay but the listing got taken off, which I was a little dissappointed with, as we were winning for only $10 with not long to go, maybe thats why it got taken off

Hi ladies, well our scan went well and bubs was perfect size and growing well. I have been a bit worried as couldn't feel any movements yet but they said placenta is at front so that might be why. They couldn't determine the sex properly but they said fairly sure it is a boy and I think it's a boy. Guess we will have a surprise after all.
Still have loads of things to buy - pram, change table, feeding chair, high chair etc but should get a few things from friends. Hope everyone is well, I can't wait til I can go in maternity leave. Is 8 weeks before too long do you think?
 Fetus Beads - glad to hear everything is going well with you. We are only 2 weeks apart as I am 26 +3d. I know what you mean re all the tests. Especially with me as I am expecting twins my scans as of the 1st August will be weekly. I have to get CTG scans.
Second bay not so easy - that is eeeeeeeew I am such a princess when it comes to wee's or poo's, thanks for the warning, if there is a boy in here I don't think I will ever have his pee pee exposed with nothing on it :D I totally agree with you, I wont be relaxed until I have my angels in my arms. I think we all have the same feelings now, the same worry/anxious feeling that we had with our ivf cycles. I don't think the worry will ever end.
looloo711 - that sux the cot package got taken off ebay, $10 chriiiiiiiist that is cheap, as you said, maybe that is why it was taken off.
maybebaby74- :celebrate: your scan went well. No I don't think 8 weeks is not enough. I go on mat leave next Friday and I'll have 9 1/2 weeks before my (twins) due date. I get so confused with dates, my actual due date originally was 26th October but my due date with twins in the 5th October. :fingerscrossed: I make it that long.
AFM - my obgyn scan went well(ish) yesterday. The bubs are doing great but my obgyn has been saying all along that my uterus is 4 weeks ahead because I am pregnant with twins. He has freaked me out a little saying basically at 30 weeks my uterus will be 34 weeks so my uterus may run out of room and force pre labor. I am just worried now as I just don't think I will cope mentally having these babies early, seeing them in ICU with tubes coming out. Like everyone here, our struggles to get pregnant took us to hell and back, I thought once I got pregnant that would be the end of that. I just always dreamed of having these babies in hospital around my due date, they get put in my room like all other mothers with newborns do. I just don't want to have to come home after having these babies to an empty house full off baby gear.
You know getting pregnant via ivf and all the cycles I did it felt 'clinical' not getting pregnant the traditional way. I don't want to have the babies then go pick them up weeks later. It will just devastate me. I want to bond with them straight away like everyone else does. All I can do is hope and pray my uterus cooperates for these precious angels and their best start at life. I had a go at my mother-in-law yesterday who constantly worries me by saying "you are so small" Well before getting preggers I was extremly fit and around 55 kilo's, I am not a tall or big girl, my stomach muscles I was proud of before getting pregnant and I think (and my obgyn thinks) that is why I am "neat" it just peeves me off as she could say it nicer or not at all and also that I am not "small" as I am actually measuring 4 weeks ahead.
I am hanging out for the 1st August's appointment as I have a big scan then to do all the measures of the bubs. It sux as my obgyn appointment is only 10 minutes, in and out and on my way, I don't get to see the bubs for very long.
Have a great weekend everyone :flowerz:

25-07-2011, 07:38
Hey girls hope you all had a great weekend, had to laugh at the “weeing” stories we are in for some fun times ahead! Ladymoz I haven’t had DS wee in my mouth but he did accidently spurt into his own face once during a nappy change! Ewww I think he was more startled than me.
Fetus Beads  great to hear from you, wow 28 weeks already hope the placenta has moved up for you. Mine is low lying at the moment as well so my OB is keeping an eye on it. Sounds like your pretty much set with buying all the necessities, its time consuming researching and looking at reviews etc.
Second Baby Not so Easy, your DS sounds so sweet how he talks to you baby belly. I’m sure he will be a perfect little helper. It will be a shock when bubs comes not being the only child or grandchild but no doubt he’ll still be spoilt by everyone. My DS has become extremely clingy lately wanting me to hold him all the time and I think he senses the baby even though he wouldn’t understand at this age that there will be another one. Sometimes I wish I could jump around and play with him on the floor like I used to but now that’s left to DH and he loves it. Good luck with your 19 week scan this week.
Looloo, that’s a bummer that Boori Cot & change table were taken off ebay :(. I remember a couple of years ago I bidded on a rocker and won it for $10 but the seller wouldn’t give it to us saying he expected it to go for higher !! We were SO SO annoyed since we won it fair and square.
Maybebaby76, good to hear your scan went well. I have an anteria placenta too so its frustrating that the synographer says he is very active and I couldn’t feel anything. Until last night finally when I was lying down the faintest pat pat on my tummy. That’s great you’ll get a few essential items from friends it definitely helps. I think 8 weeks before is perfect to go on maternity leave you want to rest as much as you can.
Ladymoz, that’s great your starting you maternity leave at the end of this week, with twins you never know when they want to arrive so its good to have a break before and be a lady of leisure! I hear you in not wanting to leave your bubs at the hospital if they arrive early. Fingers crossed :fingerscrossed:they stay put for a while longer and they both will be coming home with you.
AFM all is well, its not till another 5 weeks before I see my bubs again. For the 26 week scan, feels like ages to go. I have to do the Gestational Diabetes Test at that one :fingerscrossed: I don't get it again as I had it with DS. Thankfully as off last night I’m finally starting to feel pat pat’s on my tummy lying down so that’s reassuring.

grrr wrote a whole post and it went missing!!! :cantbelieveit:
Maybybaby - :highfive: that the scan went well!! For me 8 weeks before is too early especially if you went late so that could be 10wks. As im having 12 months off for maternity leave, so the earlier I leave the earlier I have to come back, so I would prefer more time with bubs. But saying that they way I was going before being really sick we were considering going on maternity leave earlier. I left 3 weeks before for DS and that was too much time for me  but as were both due near x-mas it might be better to leave early lol, as I cant go back I think you said they think your getting a :cheerleader2: congrats!!!
Ladymoz - :fingerscrossed: your uterus holds and that you dont have to see your little ones in ICU or leave the hospital without them!!. and also my gf actually looked bigger for her singleton compared to her triplets at the same time! It was just the way she was carrying them, so ignore when someone says "wow ur small" I get in a day "wow ur huge" to "wow ur not even showing much!!" and this baby at 14wks was already measuring 5 days ahead! Youw would think the stress would stop once we got pregnant lol
Butterfli - :hyper: for you starting to feel bubs moving hopefully that means the placenta has moved up!!
AFM - DS1 is 5 tomorrow he is one excited boy :smiliedance: he woke up at 4am this morning and couldnt go back to sleep arrgghhh im very tired!!. He is also getting really clingy so we think its due to the baby coming! 19wk main scan this wk whoo cant wait to see bubs and make sure he/she is healthy. My Mum is coming also so she is excited. Then we have our ob appt next thu. Im same as everyone, stress when I cant feel bubs then he/she gives me a kick and its a big relief! Im feeling heaps better but still have headaches every other day, just trying to make sure Im drinking enough water!

Hello Ladies,
I have been AWOL for a little while, but have been reading....DH and I have had 2 weeks off work...we had a really nice relaxing holiday in the great southern of WA (Bremer Bay and Denmark)....lots of fishing and lounging in front of the fire, awesome weather, pods of whales and seals....very spoilt!
Great to hear everyone is going great guns.....but haven't heard from Speckled for a while...hopefully the little twinnies are still snuggled in tight...fx
I'm well, 22wks 4days and am starting to feel like I have much more energy than the last 5 months...yay! Bubs is starting to move around a little bit more and I am FINALLY starting to pop out just a little. I've spent the last few days of my holidays cleaning out our office to turn it into a nursery, as it's the closest room to our bedroom. I think I will have bubs in our room for the first few months until she decides to sleep through a bit then out her into her own room...I'll see how I go, I know what's its like sleeping in the same room as a newborn (I have done it many times with my niece and nephew), they can be very noisy sleepers sometimes and I think it would just make me more tired listening to her all night. FX she a good quiet sleeper....we can always hope!
We haven't really bought anything for the nursey yet....a set of muslin wraps, thats it! I am getting a really nice sleigh cot off a good friend and a couple of car seats as well. She is also trying to chase down her old change table for me too. DH and I are going to Perth this weekend to visit a few baby stores and IKEA....looking for a pram, some shelves for the laundry (our house is only 2 years old, and I got an enamel basin put in the laundry to act as a baby bath) and nursery and other bits and bobs that catch my eye....I can see the credit card is going to be hurting! I am also catching up with a heaps of girls on the IVF Perth forum...so should be good, I think about 4 of us are up the duff, and the other 3 will have embies on board! ....really looking forward to it.
What sort of prams, car seats have you girls gone with? Any other tips for stuff to look at?
I have my next OBS appointment on 12th Aug, then the Gestational Diabetes test on the 19th. fx that goes well....I been a little bit naughty on the chocolate front of late!

Morning girls,
Sarah - your time off sounds so relaxing!!! lucky you are getting some of your friends nursery stuff. I have actually only bought 1 box of nappies - yesterday lol. Think my car seat was safe and sound and I got Emmuljuna (sp) with DS1 - I have always loved these ones. There very old style big prams. My argument with DH is that when I bought the pram it will cover all our babies :goodvibes:
Maybybaby - you know on Monday and im like nahh im going to hold off till closer to the date, talk about playing with fate. I ended up in hospital for 8 hrs, monday night on a drip etc as I got food poisioning :( that day. grrrrrr.
AFM - ds had a great b'day yesterday cant believe he is 5 now, they grow up soooo fast

Me again, lol. Doesnt seem to be many people on here much, I was worried that I wouldnt be able to keep up with people
Had my main 19 wk scan a few days ago, baby all healthy, everything fine :smiliedance: its getting so big. Must admit was tempting to find out the sex  but of course didnt. I nearly over 1/2 way which still feels surreal
Hope everyone is just relaxing!
 Mummas to be.
Second baby not so easy - Great job on the 19 week scan :smiliedance:
Sarah - welcome back :hyper:You are so lucky to get some of your friends stuff, I haven't been offered anything from my friends humpffff
Butterfli - ahhh feeling flutters, I still remember the day I felt the twin on my right, now I am getting big kicks which is great but it does keep me up at night
Went for my 28 week scan yesterday and guess what? The silly sonographer slipped and told me the sex of the babies!!! I was a bit upset but kind of keen to know. My DH and I so wanted it to be a surprise but we are not telling anyone (just you lovelies) so........
GO TEAM PINK, 2 gorgeous girl babies :cheerleader1::cheerleader1: I am really happy. I thought from day 1 that I had girls. I was the only one who thought this out of family and friends, we even had bets going.... I can't wait for the look on my DH families faces when I have these babies and they find out they are girls. I was just saying the other day that I still think I have 2 girl babies and they were saying "no, one of each or 2 boys, "WE" only have boys on our side. I felt like saying "ah when it comes to ivf it depends which of my DH swimmers they choose you dumb @&*#!" At least we can cut down from 6 name selections to only 2 now plus I can start buying some cute things for the girls like some sweet going home outfits from the hospital.

Ladymoz - Congrats on the GIRLS!! Yay for you, I know it doesn't matter either way, but good for you they will be so cute together!! and the bestest of friends which is great. 12 weeks to go! that will fly. I wish I was that far:yes:
Secondbaby- Congrats on the Morph scan, good to hear everything is ok. I know it is a very quiet little thread, we must have been the lucky ones to get our BFP for that period.
Sarah- Your time off does sound very relaxing, I wish we were able to take some time off before bubs comes, but need to try and save holidays. Our last one was when we got married in March last year, so a bit overdue. Thats awesome you got some times to yourselves and had a babymoon.
I think we might have bubs with us in our room at first as well, but i guess we wont know what works for us till the bambino has arrived. Thats very cool, you are getting most things from friends, certaintly helps with the money side of things.
BUtterfli - Yay for movement!! I must admit I'm a little jellyspoons and can't wait till I get some movement. Although I'm not exactly sure what to look for? Is it true that you will "know" when it happens?
AFM - Had our Morph scan today, and bubs is AOK. Little bugger was being a bit naughty and was camera shy just like it's parents and we couldnt get a 4d shot of the face, but oh well not long till we can see the angel in person!
Have been a bit down lately, and things at work are starting to stress me out a bit. I'm very close with my boss, and the company is not doing the best, I'm in charge of accounts and it is just really getting to me having all of these people ring for money and and getting irate(which I can understand) but it's not like we are not paying them for fun. I used to love going towork now I dread the thought of what and who I am going to have to deal with. Some days it just brings me right down with all these hormones, and I dont want to stress the baby either!
Sorry to lump all of this on you guys, I just can't really talk to my boss about it as she has her own stresses going on aswell. :freakingout:
Sorry again girls but I do feel a bit better.

Ladymoz - :)that is one thing I dread is my ob slipping up and saying the sex, normally now when ever we walk in somewhere Im like we dont want to know the sex. But yeah for it :cheerleader1::cheerleader1:will be sooooo cute to have the same! and you would be feeling smug that your right hahahahaha
Looloo - :hyper: for the scan going well. I totally understand about not having as much patience at work than normal, plus with the added stress of the business going well - I am like this now and I was like that with ds. Its like we know were so close to having maternity leave and holding our little ones!

Lady - yay for little girls, they will be so much fun.
2nd - sorry you had the food poisoning, sounds like everything is ok now.
Sarah - glad things are going well. Holiday sounds lovely!
