late period

Can someone please tell me why for the last months my period has been 3 days to a week late? My period was suppose to come yesterday but theres no sign of it, and the last few months it has been late too (I did pregnancy tests the last few times and it was neg :() Usually my periods are like clock work, but for some reason they are late :confused: Has this happened to anyone? I mean, I COULD be pregnan (I am going to wait a few days :fingerscrossed: ) but if I'm not what could be causing my periods to be late (they are only lasting for 3 days-usually they last 4 to 6 days)

Hi. Very annoying but I think normal for a cycle to suddenly become different. My cycle is different since having DD 20 months ago. The only thing that is usually the same each month is the luteal phase. I can have regular 28 day cycle then all of a sudden it does something different. Pain in the bum when TTC

It can be very normal to have slight variances in your cycle. However, it can be sign that you are ovulating irregularly or not at all. PCOS is a common syndrome that causes irregular cycles or it could be a hormone imbalance. A shorter lighter than normal period could be an anovulatory cycle. Where you have a period but don't ovulate. Just type in anovulatory in the search engine and you will find lots of info. Again it doesn't always mean something is wrong but if you are having trouble concieving it could be the reason.
