Hi, Friday nite we found blood smeared in out 9 week old bubs poo. We took him to the Doc who suggested we take him straight to casulty. We did so and the Emergemcy Doc thinks it could be a bout of Gastro (even though this normally only occurs in bubs over 4 months of age), Lactose Intolerance or Colitus ... I have cut dairy out of my diet by Docs orders until we get results from the poo sample but if anyone has had anything silmular feedback would be appreciated .. as you can imagine I am very worried and everytime he cries wonder if his in pain or if his just crying as usual???? I don't wanna be paraniod but am just really worried.

MY DS recently had blood in poo and it was due to a bacteria.

Has he had poo in every nappy since... ?

Our Ds's blood stopped very quickly, he only had a few nappies that had blood in them, keep an eye on him, apparently if there is still blood 24 hours later you should take him to the docs to have a sample taken of the poo & blood, so they can start to work out whats causing it.

:hugs: its such a scary thing to see in your bubbas nappies !!

coby had blood through his poo and i took him to the doctors and they said he had split his bottom hole so they said there was nothing they could do.. a few days later i changed his nappy and it was almost pure blood with a bit of poo  i put him straight in the car and to emergency where they frightened the life out of me saying it could be bowel cancer or mecals diverticulum..

so we stayed in hospital for 2 nights and had millions of tests run including the mecals test which involves holding him down and strapping him to the bed for 45 minutes ... which is hard to do with a screaming 9 month old..

he also had a ultrasound (that guy made me madthe doctors were sure it was mecals... and he would have had to undergo surgery asap... and anyway all tests were clear... it was just due to gastro... phew!!

mecals is an extra part of the bowel i forget exactly it was 9 months ago this happened... but it scared the life out of me..

im sure bubs will be fine.. it is probably gastro also.. but sometimes there is blood in the poo that isnt visible... every poo coby did in hospital was tested for blood... even though we couldnt see it it was there...

:fingerscrossed: for you and ur bub.. im sure everything will be fine.. good luck with the test results.. let us know... (sorry for rambling!! )
