I'm halfway thru my TWW of my 8th cycle, and was just curious how you reacted to your BFP.
Who you told?
What did you need to do thru the clinc?
How early, or easily, did you find an Ob?
Thanks Ladies, :fingerscrossed: I'm joining you all next week!
I got my first ever bfp on our 9th cycle. I can only describe it as the best moment in my entire life. I seriously just can't describe it. I POAS on my own at home at 6am 12dpo seeing as I was 99% sure it was a BFN and no line came up while I was still peeing, by the tiem I was done and got up I saw it. I just dropped to the floor and bawled my eyes out then bolted down the hallway yelling at dh hahah. Amazing day :)
Who I told.... DH then my mum (mum lives with me) that was it. Told dad at 6 weeks, IL's at 8 weeks then other people after my NT and those who didn't know I put something on my facebook after my morph.
What did I need to do through the clinic.. I still had my blood tests, saw my FS until 12 weeks.
My Ob... my fs and I discussed obs at 10 weeks, I asked my FS who he would let deliver his child and he referred me to my ob. I am guessing 10 weeks is too late to get into him normally but my fs referals go straight in I guess.
Best of luck I hope you get your bfp!!!

Firstly :fingerscrossed: for you this cycle!!! I hope it is the one for you!!
We had two m/c prior to our successful pregnancy but...
How did I react? -
Preg #1 Super excited. It was if a huge cloud had been lifted from my head. I remember actually being so excited driving to work that morning after I POAS and it came up positive. I was so excited to go to work knowing that I would be going on maternity leave soon(ish)
Preg #2 Was our first IVF pregnancy. Still excited but a little cautious as our HCG levels were quite low. Still confident that everything would be okay as in my head I just couldn't imagine anything going wrong with an IVF pregnancy
Preg #3 (Our DS was born 9 months later) Very hesitant but quietly excited. HCG reading was really high which gave me a little confidence boost
Who we told
Preg #1 - no one. It ended in m/c before we could share with anyone. After the m/c we told family as we were pretty upset and we needed their support
Preg #2 - We only told those who knew we were doing IVF and supported us through the IVF. Some of our family and friends were so supportive so we wanted them to know.
Preg #3 - We didn't tell anyone (not even family). We hadn't told anyone we were going back to IVF and kept the pregnancy to ourselves until 10 weeks for family and 12 weeks for friends.
what happened with the clinic
After the initial BT just the 7 week scan and then another follow up scan at 9 weeks. (I don't know if the 9 week scan was the norm or whether our FS just did it because of our history of m/c)
How early to book an ob?
Every time I booked immediately, however my FS has since told me that I didn't need to do so. She could have got me into any ob I wanted to after my first scans (she reckons she could pull some strings for me)
Good luck hun....... When IVF works the outcome is so beautiful and I so hope that everyone going through IVF gets to experience the joys of pregnancy and a baby of their own.

good luck.
i was initially elated for about 15 seconds....then overwhelming relief hit me (ie thank god it worked, i dont have to another yet another stim cycle)...it felt like finishing a uni degree...almost semi anti climatic after the initial shock wore off....the next day of course i was seeing the world thru different eyes of joy. still i would say relief was my main emotion. i told dh straight away then rang my bff who had gotten a bfp about 10 days b4 and then told mum cos she knew we were doing ivf and DH told his family when i was 10wks cos there bloody show off BIL announced another pg so we thought were taking some thunder back from you fertile ba$tards!!!! i hate to admit it but that thrilled me to bits at the time....LOL
i booked an ob at about 7 weeks after the scan and had my first appt at 10wks...had 2 scans with the IVF clinic i think thats all...
good luck hope u get your bfp!
Good luck, hope youget good news.
I fell pg after 5 years of IVF and it was my 18th embryo, when they called I just cried with relief as it was my last go, I wasn't going to carry on any longer.
I told my parents, sisters and inlaws as my journey had been so long they all knew what we were going through. Everyone else I told after the NT scan.
My FS is also an OB so I stayed with him, I had been in his care for so long I couldn't even consider going anywhere else.

Thank you for your replies ladies,
4 more sleeps, and then maybe I'll be able to tell you how I took the news! :fingerscrossed:
Its reassuring to know that I might not have as much difficult finding an Ob.

Good luck, hope you get your BFP!
I've only had one, and I was stunned! DH didnt believe it, not until we saw our GP at the time, who also happened to be an OB/GYN (country town). I was more stunned about the strength of the BFP, how quickly it appeared. Sadly it ended in miscarriage, will never forget that amazing feeling though :)

I did an early POAS at home and by the time i had peed on the thing and put the cap back on and gotten up to wash my hands a second line had appeared. . . when i opened the bathroom door with the test in my hand and a big smile on my face DH and i just hugged each other REALLY tightly and started jumping up and down and crying!!!
We told family and one set of close friends after the blood tests came back.
As for FS. . .we had two sets of blood tests and then an ultrasound at 6 or 7 weeks.
After Blood Tests but before ultrasound i went to my local GP and chatted to her about OB's. I was only about 5 weeks but the GP still had to phone to get me into the one we liked.
Good luck!!!
