Hi gals! As we're starting to get to know one another a little better, I thought I'd give you all the chance to tell us one thing (or 10 if you wish!) that we don't know about you, or that we might find surprising, shocking, etc, so long as we don't know yet!

So who will start us off?

Well, here we go. My big secret is that I'm a closet dolphin hater. Yes. Dolphins. I really, really hate them. They're so overrated! Everyone thinks they're so smart and cute, but the reality is dolphin researchers have documented them doing the most disgusting things -- pack rape, the prostitution of female dolphins, porpoise slaying and dolphin infanticide. They're certainly not all they're cracked up to be! I get my own back at them by buying the toilet paper with dolphins on it (sea themed). Even when it's more expensive!!!

this cracked me up
personally i'm more of a puppy print girl .... not cause i'm getting my own back just because they're cute!

Ok, I was born in Damascus, one of the oldest continually inhabited cities in the world.

Well here's something you didn't know about me.

I lurvvvve cookbooks ..and the heavier, the thicker, the glossier and the more expensive the better :D
I read them (devour them actually) like someone reads a novel BUT sadly, they very rarely are referred to in the kitchen, which drives DH insane

I drank pickle juice ... All the pickles were gone and the vinegar just smelled so good that I sat there drinking it from the jar.

I wasn't pregnant at the time, either. :D

Gross beany!!!

Beany

So this would be a bad time to tell you that one of my favorite foods is bananas and cream and rice ... with salt.

:D

My family has dodgy ideas about comfort food, I think.

Noosamum: I'm the same way with cookery programs. I can sit there for hours watching them and never do I actually make anything I see.

My cookery books are fairly heavily referred to - admittedly only the desserts sections, though.

I can't drive under a bridge if there is a train or big truck on it. My whole body shudders and if I am in the car alone I let out a little scream.

I buy material and then don't make anything with it (I am cr*p at sewing). I have a big suitcase full of beautiful fabric. Most of it is quite expensive so I just buy a metre of it. I bring it home and put it in the suitcase. Been doing it for years.

Another thing you don't know is that I am a bleck belt in Tae kwon do and can teach it. I was on my way to starting up a women-only class before I discovered that I'd fallen pregnant again!

Oh....I am also obsessed with colour co-ordination. My undies & Socks have to in some way match what ever colours I am wearing as well as any dress earings. Poor bubs is only ever dressed with a matching singlet and socks to what ever jumpsuit she is wearing. Socks and singlet have to be the exact same colour. Red & Pink can never mix!!! Drives my DH insane, but he manages to get plenty of milage out of it in the way of laughter!!

I'm utterly grossed out by hair. It's okay if it's attached to a person but dead hair on the floor, by the basin, in plug holes ... The worst thing was when it wound itself around the brushy bit of the vacuum cleaner and had to be manually removed. I'm retching just thinking about it.

Ok it took me a while to think of something interesting to post so I have been lurking a bit. But I thought of one and DH told me after that I have heaps and should have asked him lol. So anyhow I love expensive perfumes and easily have a couple of thousand dollars worth... and I wear every single one of them (at different times) I think of them as my mood or mood enhancers.

I also have a thing about pegs on the clothes line. Both pegs on an item have to be the same colour and if I can I have a need to make sure each line has the same colours. Hence why DH hangs out the clothes it drives him bonkers lol

Okay, what else...

I have major bellybutton issues. It makes me feel really ill. I can't even look at someone touching theirs. My niece did it once to torment me and I smacked her really hard across the head and I wasn't even sorry.

I did highland dancing from when I was five till I was fourteen.

Oh, I have another one but its a bit embarrassing...um, shall I??

Okay...LOL...when I brush my teeth, the music to the Benny Hill Show goes through my head. I can't help it, it just comes into my head. I have never told anyone that :o

Noosamum: I watch all the right shows! My mum, however ... :D

Missie Mack: Um ... why don't you just buy the ordinary wooden pegs and save yourself the trouble of the colour matching game? They are all brown! Perfect!

Hmmm ... what else can I tell people ...

When I was younger, I didn't bite my nails but had the awful habit of biting the skin on the tips of my fingers and around the nail. The only way I managed to stop myself from keeping up the habit was by growing my nails long.

To this day, I still stick my thumb in my mouth and run my teeth along the edge (but don't actually bite anymore).

I have this thing about lists!! i am always writing lists, and lists of lists even.. that on its own isnt necessarily sooo bad... alright well I guess it is really, but to make matters worse, I never keep my lists, I throw them away, then have to write another one a few days later or whatever!!!

Also ..
I wont, cant wont eat fat!! It totally grosses me out to even see the slightest slither of fat even on a piece of ham! Its nothing to do with dieting or weight watching or anything like that, I have been like it since I was a kid, I will only eat chicken breast that has gone through the meticulous process of having every bit of dodgyness removed prior to cooking, the same goes for steak ... I just dont even bother with any other meat .. just chicken or beef with not the remotest hairline slither of fat!! I know i am wierd.. dont get me started on the skin on things.. aaarrgghh - I could never eat chicken skin ..:barf: I'm retching as I think about it

I am currently in a calender for promoting girls in IT (nothing dodgy) I am dressed as miss congeniality!

hmmmmm what else.. I am related to Frances Ford Copolla, and Sophia Copolla - my claim to fame!

In 1993, I lived in Palace House Beaulieu with Lord and Lady Montagu of Beaulieu in Hampshire, UK. Lord Montagu is my Uncle's Uncle. Whist there, I met Prince Michael of Kent too.

Ummmm what else, I was once a Monorail driver and I can't stand to touch or go anywhere near Terracotta (think nails down black-board), and I especially freak when I hear terracotta scraped, eewwwwww!!!

Well hello all, Im new to both the Hub and the August babies grp. My first son was born on the 4th of August and is now a hefty 6.1 kilos.

And did you know that studies have proven that parrots are smarter and more closly related to humans (by DNA) than a dolphin and an ape? Its true their tiny little brain is better than a dolphins big one! lol
