Just wanted to share that skin prick tests are not always accurate.

DS had severe eczema and had SPT (skin prick tests) when he was 5 months old, and it was positive for egg, soy, beef and tomato. He was partially on Neocate and partially BF with me on a restricted diet avoiding those foods as well as dairy, nuts and shell fish, seafood. His eczema cleared after several months, but he continued to wake every hour to half hourly at night.

When he was 9 months old, he had wheat directly for the 1st time. He was given bread (wheat flour only, no soy flour), and started screaming, vomiting, became flushed and developed hives. So I stopped nursing him cold turkey, and he is now only on Neocate LCP, fruit and vege and oats (he can't seem to tolerate rice or corn)

And immediately, he started sleeping better-we now get 3-5 hour stretches at night. Not brilliant, but so so much better. It was the wheat through the BM that was affecting his sleep for the months prior to that, and perhaps other stuff too through the BM that we are still not aware of.

Hope this info might help someone...I wished I had weaned him from nursing a lot earlier, even though it was heartbreaking to stop.
