Howdy

I read today actually that your gums arent as good during pregnancy as not. Nuddle is a dental assistant, NUDDLEEEEE Where are you??

Sairbear, I hope she comes on to help, but I know that bonjela is good for taking away the pain

My husband had a bad tooth that had to be extracted, it was a wisdom, tho, but he found gargling/ draining with a needle thing COLD water helped.

I hope I have helped till Sonja comes on.

In the meantime :hugs:

OMG, toothaches are not a pg symptom, if you have a toothache, go and get it checked out asap, dont leave it.
However, your gums are more sensitive during pg, and tend to bleed more easily, as the hormones soften your gums, and the tiniest bit of plaque will irritate the gums.
Solution to this.... see your dentist and get your teeth cleaned, then get into a daily routine of flossing, brushing twice a day, and maybe rinsing with salt water... if m/s will allow this lol.

but please go and see your dentist if you have a toothache, you dont want to leave it.

I agree, if you have a toothache there is something wrong with your tooth. Being pregnant does not cause toothaches ;)

Had a really, really agonising one when I was 35 weeks pregnant with my first. I was up with it all night before I could get to the dentist first thing in the morning, in pure agony. I swear it was worse than giving birth.
I went into labour about a week later and I'm not entirely unconvinced that wasn't what triggered it.
So please, go to the dentist. They can still fix it safely even if you're pregnant. Leaving it to get worse is much riskier.

I had 2 teeth extracted with my first pregnancy I do agree your teeth are more sensitive during pregnancy but this is not why we get toothaches. I chewed on cloves one night to numb the gum, the pain lingers, it was horrible. Had gum aches with DS2 but never had to go tot he dentist.

With my first pregnancy my wisdom tooth was so sore.:(

The day after I came home from hospital with baby I went straight to the dentist and had it removed.

There is nothing worse than the pain of an on-going toothache especially when you have a newborn to look after. I would go to the dentist and get it checked out.

I remember taking panedeine for the pain after baby was born. The relief of having it finally removed was the best.

Hope the pain goes soon. Good luck.;)
