It is very very hot today, I have been feeding DS2 on demand but I am worried he might not be hydrated enough. He has had 2 wet nappies so far since 9:30 after that nappy change, should I try and give him some water. He has fed at 9 and 12 and has just finshed another feed and is fast asleep again. He is sooo sleepy.

Just offer him more boob, he will drink if he needs it, might only be a few sucks but he will take what he needs.

Re: him being sleepy, he is doing what he needs to do, conserving energy :)

i remember reading that breastfed babies don't need water.

A better idea would be to have water yourself so you are hydrated enough to feed him more.

Thanks.

Will get some cool washers for the kids an I as well. We are staying inside today as well. It is too hot for anything, except maybe walking over the road to mcdonalds for ice cream later!

I have him in the swing atm, he is just in a nappy and the fan hits him as well as the kids and I.
