How much planning went into the proposal?
DF had me go look at rings, and to let him know which styles I like, to kill my boredom, but assured me it wasn't going to happen for another year or two.
So I went looking, told him what I liked, and forgot.
3 months later on my 19th birthday he took me out to dinner, then a take away coffee at the boat harbour where we spent a lot of time together pre baby. After finishing our coffee we had a cuddle while looking out on the water, him behind me. I felt him fumbling while he pulled something out, gave it to me and proposed, saying its not a gift, its a promise etc etc.
It was so, so beautiful and took me completely by surprise!

Aww! Lovely story!
DF ordered my ring about 3 months before he proposed to me. We had talked about the sort of rings I would like but he went and chose it all by himself and it's just perfect! He hid it in the boot of his car, in the tyre well, until the day he proposed.
I had taken him away for his 21st birthday and we were staying in a fancy hotel. We went out to a restaurant overlooking the water and had a lovely dinner. After dinner DF suggested we walk along the water where he got down on one knee and proposed! :goodvibes:
He had already asked my parents so when I called them they were so excited for me! After dinner we stopped in at a friends 21st Birthday party and we got to announce it to some of our friends!
It was perfect! :goodvibes:

DH took me round to try on rings one day for fun when we had only been together about 6 months. What I didn't realize was that he got the sales lady to write down my ring size and kinds of rings I liked on a card which he then carried round with him for the next 1.5 years until he proposed!
He went back to the jeweller, had a ring made for me and when he picked it up he went round to my parents to ask my dads permission. My dad said no! But mum said to ignore him!
He was going to wait until my 21st (about 8 months away) but was so excited he blurted it out that night while we were sitting watching TV. I thought he was joking but turned around and he had the ring in his hand! Very cute!!
We had zero money and my DH picked out my ring which was a cheapie silver ring with my birthstone/favourite stone in it. Then he told all our friends and asked their thoughts. Then he went and spoke to my mother about it.
I had NO idea. He had it planned to propose when DS was born as we held him the first time but he couldn't wait, and proposed 3 weeks before he was born, on the bed :D as soon as he had the approval from my mum (we'd been out for her bday that night and he'd asked her sneakily then).
Good thing he did it then because in the end DS' birth was complicated and I was too out of it to be much use afterwards, let alone understand a proposal
 Not much i dont think.
I was 3mths pregnant, we had been together for 9mths. It was my 21st. We went to a remote station camping. I was sitting in the front of the ute trying not to throw up while he cooked dinner. He wandered over to me and said "Wanna marry me?" I said "Yep" and kinda pushed him backwards (he smelt baaaaad ) He reached into the overhead compartment (me gagging ) and got a ring box and handed it to me and said "here shove this on your finger then" I unwrapped it and tried to put it on, it didnt fit so i put it back in the box and back into the overhead. He went back to cooking tea.
But for the record he had planned to take me to a cave called "Butterfly Springs", that is on the west side of the station, and propose there. When you walk up to the cave hundreds of butterflies flutter around. He planned on getting down on his knee ect. But the station owners where mustering on that side of the station so we couldnt go there.
I wont ever forget his proposal thats for sure, but i do wish it was a bit more thought out and romantic.
