Ok some of you know this already ;) but do you remember that I was dating my BIL's best friend? I know I said I bought protection.....but the thing is that in the heat of the moment it....um, well, it didn't get used :o.......and 2 weeks later I discovered this:

The good news is, I told the FOB, and he is actually really excited! I was a bit worried about how he would react because he had told me that he wasn't in the right frame of mind for a relationship, let alone a baby. But I told him and we had a giggle together and are still great friends so we will make a good parenting team. He wants to be involved in the pregnancy and birth and is very excited about becoming a daddy :goodvibes:
We're keeping it a secret from everyone IRL until 12 weeks because we are part of a BIG network of family and friends and we want to be sure it's all ok before we drop the bombshell on everyone :D. Oh god, they're going to be so shocked!! :freakingout:
Anyway, so I'm still a little shocked that I'm actually pregnant, and although I hadn't quite planned my life like this (2 kids to 2 different fathers, neither of whom I am in a relationship with :o), but I'm getting very excited about bringing a new little person into the world. I just feel like it was meant to be and I do feel that this baby was conceived with a lot of love, regardless of how things have worked out between me and FOB :goodvibes:
eeeep! I'm going to have a baby!! :hyper: He/she is due on September 30th, and I'm now 4 weeks 4 days. I found out on the 22nd, so I was right on 4 weeks when those tests ^^^ were done. Now off to make myself a new ticker! :D

Oh, and just fyi, yes you can get pregnant on the withdrawal method. It seems we're very fertile :o:o

That's wonderful news, so glad to hear everything worked out :celebrate:, see, all that stressing yesterday was for nothing!!!! Thank goodness you got hold of him or you'd still be wondering (as would we). Best of luck with your pregnancy, sounds like dad is going to be a great part of your bubba's life.

They will no doubt be as shocked as I was at first. But they will be excited because FOB is a good friend who BIL has known for over 15 years and I think they will be so happy to hear that he's finally going to be a dad. He's 44 and never settled down with anyone because he is such a free spirit (loves to travel the world each year, just not the type to settle down and live an 'average' life IYKWIM). Ultimately they will be very very happy about the new addition to the family.
My question is how will the extended group of friends take it.....they had no idea we even dated because it was such a brief 'fling'. It will be such a shock to everyone :D

yes!! It's all worked out so well! Though, as much as I loved cosleeping, it was really more out of pressure from my ex that I did it as long as I did (by the time I left my ex the habit was so hard to break with DS so I had to wait until he went to NZ without me for 2 weeks to do it).
With the new bubba I will have him/her sleeping on their own much much sooner. I will probably end up cosleeping a bit because I love to BF lying down and it's so nice to be able so doze off while they feed, but I'm planning on getting the new bubba to self settle so that I'm not so 'relied upon' by this one. I will baby-wear a lot though! I would love to get an Ergo, or even a wrap around one to start with.
