'Friendless' in Brisbane

Hi,

23 and Just moved to Brisbane about a month ago from Canberra. Have an 8 month old son, Brody. No family up this way and husband is working.
Finding it a little hard sometimes and just a tad lonely.. :(
Just wondering if anyone could tell me if there are any mothers groups or anything where I can meet other mums in the same position.. ?
Living inner-North but still willing to travel.:o

There are always heaps of meets & get-togethers being organised by bubhubbers. Check in with the local area sections (at the bottom of the forums page).

You could always come join us up on the Sunnie Coast too if you're up for a drive!

(PS - Where in Canberra do you hale from? I'm from Spence originally! Much warmer up here, although the humidity gets you!)

There's generally a get together at Chermside about once a fortnight. I think there is one on 15th September - details are in the local area forum.

Are you a Canberra local? I lived in Canberra for about 3 1/2 years. We moved down there as my DH got a job down there.

I noticed you are at Ennogera? I am at ferny hills and there are a whole heap of mums around the arana hills, gap area etc so not to far from you at all.

We were trying to get together once a fortnight but that has fizzled out at the moment so maybe its a good time to organise another get together. We usually meet at the park on Dawsons Parade, Arana Hills (across from Kmart etc.).

Let me know if you are interested and maybe we can organise something?

wow this is so bizarre - I am Brody's mum too! and he is also 8 months old! :D

i have never seen anyone else spell it with a 'y' - much better than 'ie' dont you think!

we are quite close too, and are quite new to Brisbane ourselves. Isn't that so weird?!!
