my dd is nearly 14 months old and has 4 teeth when should i start using the my first tooth paste. At the moment she is mainly just playing with her tooth brush.. thabks in advance

From my understanding when they can spit which I think is around 2. Just plain old water before bed is the best thing

Yep, until they can spit you should just use water- I started with toothpaste just before DD was 2.

I go off what ever the tube says, webuse paste now at 20 months.

There is nothing wrong with not spitting tooth paste, I certainly don't spit every tiny bit of paste out & I don't know any adult that does. Your always going to swallow some.

I've been using tooth paste on DD since she was 12 months.. Now 26 months and she still doesn't spit it out. Never really thought twice about it

I was told when they can spit as well. It's not harmful to swallow *some* toothpaste, but all of it every time probably isn't a good thing.

My LO could spit it out at 18 months, and that's when we started using toothpaste. Just a tiny, tiny bit though.
