i was just thinking can you O when your on your period? and still get pregnant if you have sex just befor ur period or on you period?

I would have thought because of the hormone levels it would have been impossible if you were having real AF and not just mid cycle spotting.

Certain hormones peak and rise after Oing and with AF they are all low. AF would shed the utirine lining so even if it was possible somehow and the egg fertilised it wouldnt have anything to implant into if the lining was shed.

It is mostly unlikely, but it's not a simple no, because it depends on how long your cycle is (how long it is from day one of one period to day one of the next one), and how long you bleed for.
If you have a regular 28 day cycle the days when you might possibly get pregnant are from day 8-18. It works like this, although the egg when you ovulate only lives 12-24 hours, if you have sex in the days before you ovulate (release an egg) the sperm can sometimes wait around for up to a week until the egg appears. If you have a regular 27 day cycle the risky days are from day 7 to 17. With a regular 35 day cycle, risky days are from 15 to 25. If you have a regular 23 day cycle the risky days are day 3 to 13. So you can see in the last case with a 23 day cycle, if your period lasts 5 days, there is a possiblity of falling pregnant in that time. If your cycle length varies you have to take into account the shortest and longest cycle possibilities. So you can see the whole thing can be a bit tricky to work out
