DS is 4 months. In the last week, he has gone off his breakfast bottle (instead of drinking it all at once like usual, he will drink it over 2 hours - he will sleep then wake for the rest) Also, he is whingy when it comes to feeding in the last few days...he will drink some, pull bottle away then whinge for a second, then feed again..he never used to do this.?
He isn't really showing other symptoms I dont think, other than he drools quite a bit now and will chew on EVERYTHING put ion front of him.
How will i know FOR SURE when he does start to teeth?? And what's the best advice to deal with teething when it does happen? Teething Gel? Amber necklace? Panadol?

I think the only way to be sure is to see or feel the teeth coming through. The first ones feel almost like a needle is poking through their gums - they're really sharp!! You may notice a red swollen lump on their gums before any white tooth pokes through.
I have had success with teething gel & paracetomol. I know some people swear by amber teething necklaces, but I have tried one on my kids and it made no difference, so they're not something I'd recommend.
My 6 months old has been drooling/chewing for a couple of months too with still no teeth showing, so you may not see any for a little while yet.
You will feel and see white bumps in the gums. Its almost impossible to get a look at a teething babies gums though as they bite. Hylands teething tablets were a godsend for my son.

Hard to tell, my boys had these symptoms for a few months before any teeth came through. It does sound like it though.
When you see a tooth!
I used teething rings and amber necklace to quite good effect.
When that did nothing to help and he seemed to have teething symptoms I would give an experimental dose of panadol and medijel and see if that helped.

I didn't realise DS was teething till I felt his teeth coming through. In hindsight, he displayed a lot of symptoms but I thought he just had an upset stomach!
Adelaide Women's & Children's Hospital teething gel is awesome. Panadol doesn't do much for DS, so we usually give him Nurofen if he is obviously in pain. I don't particularly like giving it to him, cos I know it's not good for bellies (kids or adults) but I'm not going to let him suffer!

what are they, hylands teething tablets? where do u get them and are they literally a tablet?
At the moment he has changed in the last few days... he has become fussy with his feeding, sleep has changed slightly.
Also, does a bubs poo become different/more frequent when they teeth?
I've felt around in hsi little mouth and can't feel anything. but he has a real good gnaw of everything in his reach!

Yes! I find mine have always got almost like diarrhea, even the older ones when they're getting their molars. And quite often a snotty nose too :(
My little six month old boy popped his first tooth this week and he didn't really seem to get any of the symptoms commonly associated with teething, however I could see the change in his gums daily - first started out a little red spot, then I could literally see the tooth comng closer to the surface until pop - and yes it's very sharp!
He had an unsettled three hour period two night before the tooth broke through, and I also gave him the hylands tablets which worked well. They are tiny little tablets which dissolve pretty much as soon as you put them in bubs mouth, and can be found at the chemist.

I just used Bonjella on my boys, and Panadol when needed. DS1 was a really good teether, you wouldnt know he was teething! And by 14 months he had 16 teeth! He is now 21.5 months just waiting for his 2 year old molars. DS2 is a shocking teether, just so grumpy and upset the poor thing when he is teething.
