Water Birth at Cairns Base

Hi all, I am 12 weeks pregnant with my second child and I (unfortunately) missed the waiting period for Private Health Insurance so will be having this bub at the Cairns Base. The upside of this is that I found out that the Base allow waterbirths as long as bub not early, is under 3.5kgs and no complications etc. Has anyone had a waterbirth recently at the Base and can you please tell me your experience?

HI there. I know this is a year ago!!! Just wondered how you ended up going to the public hospital and if you got your water birth??? Did you have midwives instead of OB's?? I'm trying to decide between public and private due to VBAC and $$$ reasons :)
