Wannabmum29- 12weeks:cheerleader1::cheerleader2: well done hope all goes well with scan tomorrow

T2SP Yup - i deffinitely have a protuding tummy-( don't think the steroids/tummy injections are helping either) by the end of the day i look about 6months - crazy. Well done on the shopping front- i have looked but havent bought anything yet. DH has pulled the office out and started"project baby" turning it into bubs room so that's weird..

Good Morning Ladies.

This sounds silly but Im almost 11 weeks but Im still worrying that my bub could have stopped growing and I have no idea.

I dont really have many symptoms other than nausea at night, and eating every 2 hours, I have a belly, which gets bloated throughout the day.

I cant wait for 28th Jan, just want to check on my bub again.

Its hard not to worry because this week I ween off my medication, after 3 months of taking pessaries 4 times a day and 6 pills a day to going to taking hardly anything its very weird and now my worry has kicked in that my placenta hasnt started working - I know its sounds silly.

Sophie- I am sure everything is fine and I hope your scan comes quickly. I think because we have all gone through IVF we feel like we are more educated on things that can go wrong and therefore always think the worst in any circumstances. I have the same fears myself and look forward to my 12 week scan in a few weeks time :)

HaileesMummy- Are you feeling better? I hope you are still taking it easy with a few DVD's and magazines!!

Melk- Thats awesome your husband has started 'Project Baby Room' hahaha....means he's getting excited as well. Have you planned what your going to do for the nursery yet?

GettingDesperate- Yay for the little pot belly!! Hehehe....I think belly's are so gorgeous, cant wait for mine to get bigger!! :)

Highhopes- Hope your scan goes well today! A moment you'll never forget!!

I hope everyone else has been good and taking care of yourselves!!

AFM- My MS has kicked into high gear since last week (week 8) my gosh....it has been all day everyday....even been :barf: at 11 o'clock at night!! Feel really bad for my DH as I know he feels so bad.....have really appreciated him holding my hair though for me and cooking dinner cause meat and me don't seem to be agreeing at the moment haha....

 everyone

Just a lil update on my end - I had our HB scan today.

It was amazing to see our lil one for the first time. Such a tiny body and heart is beating away itself.
I am now 7 weeks 4 days pregnant. Baby is measuring 1.3cm and 158hbpm

Both DH and I were thrilled. Now, we forgot to ask for a photo/picture of the ultrasound. Doh...

I lost some graduates along the way - Pippi and Summa - :hugs:

Wishing everyone else is doing well. Sorry no personals today as I just sneaked in here while at work to update myself.

Highhopes big congrats on your scan and baby HB is great too, it all becomes more real now doesn't it?
Sophiep I was also very concerned at 11 weeks about what was going on with me,as it appeared not much at all was happening and I Googled till the cows came home worrying about it.
My 12 week scan was good so I was amazed as few symptoms overall leading up to that scan could still result in one healthy bub but it happens.
Have faith everything will be fine :hugs:
I do sympathise with the stopping of meds as I have to go till end of 13 weeks till I can stop Crinone and Estrogen Ive waited for ages to stop them now Im scared ....

T2SP I have a pouchy tummy too but I blame the NKC steroids for that :( hate them hate them hate them ..but I only 2 weeks left on the buggers.....I look about 6 months UTD and still eat like a weightlifter!
I hope Hailees Mum your feeling better and Hilton04 your MS doesnt get too out of hand.
Can someone add me for an Ob appt for me on Feb 4th sorry Im unsure how to edit Roll Call...doh

Hope everyone else is doing ok

On my phone and running a bit late so me post this morning! Have our NS at 10am and beginning to feel nervous - I thought I'd be ok with having read how others have coped but I suppose we all worry.
Sophie, I understand your fear, I'm 12 weeks today and have stopped heaving/throwing up and other symptoms. We're supposed to celebrate the end of MS, not mourn it! Bring on 10am so the enjoyment of pregnancy can start.
Hope everyone has a lovely day :)

Morning Ladies

Have been AWOL a few days as I really don't have a lot to say, unusal for me

Sofie - I just had a scan the other day and I am already nervous and stressing about something being wrong, unfortunately I think it is just natural and probably worse for us IVF'ers as we have had to take the long journey to get here! Symptom wise, I don't have a lot other than huge sore boobs and feeling off colour in the morning and I stress if I don't have to get up to pee during the night :D Oh and I over analyse every possible symptom!

HM - glad you are feeling better. How on earth did you get your DH to cook such a nice dinner for you, that would be a miracle in my house  If anything I would get steak and chips!

Highhopes - great news that the scan went well

Babyjunkie - I am hoping to stop the pessaries in the next few days, not sure if I am meant to slowly wean myself off them though? 13 wks is a long time to be on them so I feel for you!

Hilton - sorry to hear the m/s is still going. Had to smile at your DH holding your hair, my DH would sadly never do that as he is a sympathetic vomiter :p

Hi to everyone else

AFM - just plodding along, so so tired and it's getting to be a struggle most afternoons to stay away. Looking forward to sleeping in tomorrow, catching up with family and friends and just relaxing and trying not to stress about the 12wk scan. A short week next week as I am only at work Mon/Tues then have a few days off and a long weekend in Sydney, yay, can hardly wait!

Hope you all have a lovely weekend!

Wow!! Bug is perfect according to the NT scan! Thank you everyone for your support. The scan took a while because Bug was all over the show but came up with low risk - 1.5 :) thank you baby Jesus! Lots of lovely 3D pics with a very cute one of the Bug rubbing his eyes :)
All the anatomy was looking good though the placenta is on the back wall right up against the cervix - no point worrying about it yet. Should be able to feel Bug a bit earlier according to the (my) skin/fat/placenta measurement - probably around 18 weeks. DP was rather overwhelmed.
The blood test will be inaccurate so we'll still go ahead with amnio to be sure but I feel pretty reassured.
Can anyone tell me, does the amnio hurt?
Hugs to all you other wonderful Mum's out there waiting.

Hi Scoots! I had a CVS which is a similar procedure to an Amnio - the same instruments. It was a strange feeling not that painful but weird. The needle just goes places that I had never felt before. The whole thing took about 1 minute once everything was set up. When are you having it done? At least Bug is doing well and the measurement sounds perfect! Enjoy your afternoon and weekend!

 Morning Mamas! Only a quick post from me this morning as I am going to try and make myself useful pruning lil trees as DH is mowing! We had our NS scan yesterday and I can honestly say it was the best day of my life! We got to see Bub and he was jumping around :hyper:, waving, had his hands up like a boxer pose, and see his lil stomach (meaning he is already drinking)! We even got to hear his heart for the first time!!! It was the most amazing thing ever... DH and I were speechless! Can't wait to get the results and have my first OB appointment this coming Tues. :cheerleader2: I cant wipe the :D off my face! and the realization that there is a lil one growing happily in my belly! Anyway, I hope everyone is having a good weekend so far and hope to catch up soon xo xo

PS Cant wait to 18 weeks to find out the sex of Bub!!!!

Morning Ladies,

Sorry I have been missing in action for a few weeks. My morning sickness kicked in a few weeks ago and I have been pretty sick. I finally seem to be feeling better today :D thankfully because I have to start back at work teaching my prep class next week.

We had our 12 week scan last week and bubs was such a wiggle worm. Made it feel so real. I wish I could see the baby more often but keep looking at the pics we got. Our results were 1:17000 but we weren't too worried about that coz we r both so young. Such an amazing day getting to see our little worm and getting to tell everyone. Such an incredible high.

The lady who did the scan said that I won't be able to feel kicking until much later in the preg than most as my placenta is at the front. At least I know so I don't panic I guess. She also guessed a girl but I think it's really too early to tell.

It's so great to hear that most of your bubs are doing so great and goodluck for all the upcoming scans. Sorry no personals today...this has been effort enough for today

Enjoy your weekends Ladies

Hi all,
Congrats Scootslove,WannaBe & HopefulNov on your scans,
Wannabe mine had little punching fists too and was covering its face with its hands-its super cute isn't it Im glad yours put on a show too.

I hope everyone else is doing ok this week.

AFM:I have two dilemma's and am seeking ANY advice ....as I'm totally :frustrated:
1.I have had rotten sleeps this week and I seem to be stressing about this thing that pregnant women shouldn't sleep on their left side....
It apparently has something to do with blood flow to heart or something...
I was told by a friend "to sleep on your left side" so that planted the "worry" seed then I Googled it a bit the other day and have since forgotten all the reasons why but I know what I read freaked me out.
So to add to my already restless sleep I toss and turn and worry if I sleep on the right Im harming the baby.. ggrrr its really messing with my head as I'm a right side sleeper and finding it hard to change!!
2.Im on Crinone till end of next week and the stuff costs a absolute fortune !
Ive been on two a day for quite a long time now due to low prog at start of BFP.
Last week I rang FS to enquire if I ended Crinone at the start of week 13 or the end and his secretary said end of week 13. I then asked was it necessary I keep taking two a day as the $$ of it per box was killing me she said very casually "nope go back to one" which I have done for the past few days.
Now here is the dilemma.. I run out of Crinone 3 days before I finish for good so I will have to purchase a whole box $200 to only use ONLY 3 of them !
Im tempted to stop 3 days earlier than sugested but of course Im wondering will I then muck things up and pay the ultimate price just because I dont want to spend $200.
The thing is Im sure the placenta has kicked in now and no prog is required but I dont want to be foolish just to save $
Sorry for the questions Ive relaxed physically not sure I can say the same for mentally :banghead2:

Babyjunkie- I read about the left sleeping thing and made dh swap sides of the bed with me coz I hate sleeping facing him so hoped that would deter me. I still find I sleep on my right especially if he's on night shift. I figure that our mums didn't know and we were fine and if it was really such a big deal our docs would stress to us about it. My dic has said nothing. You could always try putting a preg pillow behind u so u don't turn over.

As for the crinone. My doc took me off it at 8 weeks when he said my placenta had taken over. For the last week he dropped me to 1 every second night. I was scared about going off it so early without a blood test to check my levels but everything was fine. I would just drop it down to one every second day so you can stretch it out to last.

Hope this helps :)

:D Thank you for the congrats!!! I am still on :Cloud9Blue:.

Baby Junkie - I am not too sure re the sleeping arrangements but I know that when I am on an uncomfortable position i get a sharp pain to move - which I am thinking is Bub telling me to roll over. I would not worry too much about it. Perhaps ask your Dr's opinion when you next see him. But if we worried about everything we read we would be stressed to the max.

As for Crinone I was on them the same as Hopeful Nov and as they do cost a mint they changed me to continue on Prog Pessaries 200mg which only cost $52 in comparrison to the Crinone. As much as the pessaries are a tad more oily then the Crinone, they still work as well. So maybe you could as the Dr if that could be an option for you? You only take the pessarie once before bedtime so really you dont mind it. :goodvibes:

AFM I am in the best mood! DH and I went and had a look at cots and prams yesterday. Who knew there was so many to choose from. I wanted a pram that had a reversable handle and four moveable wheels. We found one at Toyworld that was really nice but it was $339. But then when we went to another Baby shop the guy at the shop showed us a three wheeled one. I have not really considered them as the ones I have seen was bulky, tipped easy and hard to turn. But this City Mini was unreal! I think I have been sold on it but it cost $489  Alot of money but its lovely and easy to use! Has anyone bought prams yet? or cot ? I saw one at ToysRus but they are so expensive!!! Also definately can tell I am pregnant today! Bub is definately showing now :) Hope everyone is having a good Sunday!

WannaB - It's all getting very real and lots of fun to go shopping for bubbies. Have a look at Banana Baby Online - I got my pram from there and it was heaps cheaper than the baby shops - I spent $1000 on my pram but it's for 2 but I love it and I think quality lasts and it comes at a cost IMO!! I brought a Baby Jogger City Select with double seats and it came with a free bassinette. It is a bigger style pram for one bub but for 2 it's compact. I can se why you like the Mini Citi one - I would get it too if I had one bub on the way. I went to Target this week and rainchecked 2 cots they were half price at $174.00 each and they looked pretty good to me. I work in child care so know what cots should feel and look like- bub's are only in them for a few years so definately not worth spending $800 - Just my thoughts! I didn't like the matteress at Target but haven't researched them either but they seemed a little soft for my liking. I have been to IKEA and got the furniture (yet to be constructed) and DJ's have some lovely baby stuff on special too - Yep I've spent up big in the last few weeks but all have been a good price or half price and we are going to have to eventually get it anyway! I also brought 2 carseats from Target SnS brand - not the top brand with $100 off each seat- it has good reviews and people seem to be happy with it and it is suitable from birth - no double purchasing for me!

Hopeful Nov - I feel your angst - I stopped all the meds at week 10 but was getting very sick so weaned myself off them almost a week before and all was good. If you are on the northside of Brissie - PM me I have a cupboard full of Crinone and fridge of progesterone that I am happy to share as it's all going in the bin really soon!! It's all in date and has been looked after properly.

BabyJ - I have read that too, I just move myslef once I realise because I always forget and for some reason am way more comfy on my right side!!

Good to see everyone else is travelling well!

AFM - I have not vomited for 2 days and have slept through the night for the past 5 days:smiliedance: Who would have thought sleep and food would make you feel so :goodvibes:

 Ladies,

HaileesMummy - wow how exciting to feel bubs in there! i cant wait to experience the same. Hope you are feeling well!

WannabMum29 - :smiliedance::smiliedance:Fantastic news about your little boxer  he or she sure sounds like a fighter!

hopefulnovember - So happy to read that your bubba is doing great and good results from your scan!

babyjunkie - not sure about the sleeping thing, I just sleep on the side that is most comfortable at the time.....i am usually a stomach sleeper but if i sleep on my stomach i get pains so now have to resort to my sides or back lol
About the crinone.....I still have some left over (im not using them) if you're interested just send me an email!

1bella - good to hear you havent :barf:in 2 days! hopefully it will remain that way .....keep on eating

AFM - nothing much to report except that all morning i have had nagging endo pain on the lower right hand side of my back which also travels down my thigh to my knee. I hate it but i seem to be ok for now thankfully. DH is in Brisbane atm and wont be back till tomorrow so i will be staying the night at mums house.

I hope you are all enjoying your weekends

HaileesMummy- Awwwww.....Yay for your little worm wriggling around!! I bet it feels amazing!!

WannabeMum29- So happy to hear your scan went great and you heard the heartbeat!! Very surreal feeling isnt it? Best of luck for your OB appointment on Tues, Bet you cant wait to see bub again!! :hyper:

Babyjunkie- I am normally a tummy sleeper but now just sleep on whatever side is comfier. I think I read somewhere tho that its suppose to be better to sleep on your left?? Maybe I am wrong!?

1Bella- You sound very organised now! I will have to check out that website for some bargains when I start buying some stuff!!

How is everyone else feeling? Hopefully all well and nobody is getting hit with MS too much!

AFM- Nothing new to report, had Acupuncture on Wednesday morning to try help with the MS...I felt human again on Thursday but then Friday was average and today seems to be slowly going back into MS HELL .......Hopefully its just for another couple of weeks and ends at 12 weeks. Have found drinking ginger stuff has helped a little..... :smiliedance:

I wouldn't stress too much about what side u sleep on as long as after about 30 weeks u don't sleep on your back! I remember stressing about it last pregnancy and drs told me that, but if I remember I'll ask tomorrow at obs app!!

**LURKER ALERT**

Hi ladies, just popping in to say hi and hope all of your pregnancies are going well!!

Whoever asked about the sleeping on your side question.. I asked this question at the Baby Seminar and the midwife told me that either side is fine. You only need to be on about a 15 degree angle to allow the blood flow so it isn't a worry. If you lay on your back there is more of a chance of cutting off the blood flow to the Vena carva (artery) so best not to do this for too long, or prop yourself with a cushion/pillow. Hope this helps.

Melk- how are you doing chick, hope all is well xx

Hi Ladies

I hope you all had a lovely weekend.

Scoots, wannabmum & hopefulnovember - congrats on your great scan results!

HM - great that you can feel movement already, I can't wait for that!

Babyjunkie - I would probably say to stop the crinone a few days early, I don't think 3 days will make any difference. I know how nervous it can be though, I am finishing my pessaries in a few days and have been nervously cutting down to just one a day...but I don't feel right doing it! It's a bit like my safety net!

1bella - I had a look at banana baby website, I will have to keep my eye on it once I make some decisions as it has some good savings.

Hilton - I hope that your m/s goes away in a few weeks but I guess it is hopefully a good sign that everything is going well with the pregnancy.

hi to everyone else

Re prams etc, I am tossing up btn the Mothercare Mychoice 4 wheeler (or the Spin) or the Baby jogger city select, mainly because DH prefers 4 wheelers and I love that bubs can face either way. Both are quite pricey (from $800-$1000) but I am happy to spend more on quality items like the pram which should get used a lot. I would almost prefer the Baby Jogger as I don't know how long we will wait before trying for a 2nd bubs. The only downside with both prams is that they are quite wide and you have to separate the base from the capsule thing to put them in the boot (they don't collapse otherwise). Luckily both our cars have good sized boots so that won't be a major issue.

Had a nice weekend, very lazy. Started investigating maternity bras which is quite depressing as I am already an E/F and from the few I tried on, they are not going to fit properly or give me any support. Is anyone a similar size or can recommend some styles/brands. My dilemma is that I wear a lot of lowish tops so I can't have ones that are too matronly IFKWIM? I probably need to start wearing them soon as my current ones are already a bit comfy and have been for weeks

Hey mummyplease!! A fellow big boobie friend! I am normally 16dd and when I got fitted the other week I'd already moved up to 18f!!!!!!!!!!! Omg!!! I too like to wear low cut tops! If ya got them ya may as well show em off I reckon!! I have one that is awesome not maternity but it's wirefree and has plenty of support and is not causing me too much trouble with showing off my cleavage!!;-)
When I get home I'll let ya know what brand it is!!

Atm I'm sitting waiting for the doc!!! Gggrrr who is an hour behind!!!!!!!! I'll let ya all know how I go if I ever get home!!!

HM - yay, glad to see that there are other big boobed women out there :D although scary that I am already an 12E/F so who knows what I will end up with. Funnily enough, I don't actually look that huge and my friends think I am only a D cup. Would love to hear what brand you have at the moment, thanks in advance for looking!

My other issue at the moment is that I have a few strapless maxi dresses that I want to wear in summer and my current strapless bra is way too small - might just have to resort to buying a bigger sized strapless bra as clearly their are no strapless bras without underwire around that will support my huge knockers

Hope you are all done with the Dr, I am so impatient when it comes to waiting

Hi everyone! I thought I would sit down and do some personals.

Congratulations to everyone who got to see there little bubs! It is sooo exciting!!:celebrate:

HaileesMummy - Good luck for your appointment! It is so annoying to have to wait for doctors! Especially when you think they wouldn't wait for you!

MummyPlease - I am struggling with the bras as well! I will be seeing the brand that HM suggests. I really hate my bra being seen. I'm a 14E normally and now I'm a F. I am also looking at the Baby Jogger City Select pram. I'm researching ordering it from the USA. Last night I found it on one site for $610USD delivered with the bassinet it is $85USD extra. I'm still hunting though so I will keep you updated.

Bella1 - what a relief to have a break from MS!:smiliedance:

Wannabmum29 - Your scan sounded wonderful!! Congratulations!! DH and I have decided not to find out the sex but I can imagine how excited you will be to find out! :cheerleader1:

Babyjunkie - I went and bought a maternity pillow yesterday and OH it was worth it for the sleep I had last night!! It is a long straight pillow that you can wrap one leg around on your side, put under your legs and slide under one side of your back so I'm angled. It is amazing!! I got it from Baby Bunting for $85. I'm sure I could have got it cheaper but I was desperate. The tripillow I have been using just wasn't cutting it!!

Trying2StayPositive - I hope your endo pain has gone! :hugs:

Hilton - I hope you are feeling a bit better!! It is a horrible feeling!!:hugs2:

MelK - I hope the time your DH is away flies by for you! :)

AFM - Nothing to report really. I'm doing lots of online research for baby products but thus far I have only bought a soft toy elephant called Cordy Roy! I'm really tired still but I have been having very disrupted sleep as I can't get comfortable. I'm hoping the pillow will help with that! Are you guys still hungry? It seems in the afternoon I can't stop eating!

It's my 30th birthday next week so I'm looking forward to it! I can't think of anything I want for my birthday seeing I pregnant which is what I wanted most. We are going to lovely restaurant in Canberra with my family and then having high tea on Saturday with some friends. My DH organised the high tea as he thought tea and cakes would be a great treat for a preggers wife!

I hope you are all well! Hi to all the people I missed!

Sorry for the long post! Give all your little bugs a pat for me!

Hi all thanks for the great advice and tips re-sleeping I had a dream sleep last night because I didnt care.. weird...lets see how long it lasts.
I might look into that Babybunting pillow Getting Deserate as a sale coming up there soon I like hugging pillows t sounds perfect for me.
re-Crinone dilemma I have a friend who today offered me her three Crinone as she has 5 left over and got a reecnt BFP so doesnt have to usethemt anymore.
It was so so nice of her...so problem solved.

Im not feeling much at the moment NOT MUCH @ all other than moodiness and bad sleeps with the exception of last night but my sister today told me she was similar when pregnant with her first so I hope thats a good omen that we are alike in our pregnancies.
OK have a great week thanks again for the tips sorry for lack of personals Im babysitting nephew & niece and having a ball.

Hello!!! Bh wouldn't lt me on last night to let u know what happened at dr!!
All is gr8! I have morph scan at a private obs ( the best in launceston ) and the public clinic are paying for it!!!!! I'm high risk so my folder is huge from last pregnancy and has high risk splashed all over it!! I sat in the waiting room for 2.5 hours But the dr I saw was well worth the wait as he was amazing and even did a quick scan for me. The machine is sooooooo old it's blurry and doesn't measure anything or give pics but I still got to c worm waving those little arms and legs around and the heart beating away!!!

So worm is going gr8! Dr washappy that I've stopped bleeding but still I have to attend clinic and see the high risk drs more often than the average bear but that's fine by me while I know worm is fine!!!:-)
Can't book actual date for morph scan til the 7th feb but it will be that week sometime......sooooo can't wait!!!
Hugs to all. X

Hiya gals - I was reading about my fellow Big Boobie Friends  and I am one of those too - I went to 'Big Girls Don't Cry Anymore" and they fitted me with a Panache maternity bra - they only had black in stock but ordered me some more neutral colours for work and summer clothing - anyway they are fantastic and you can buy online - but I went from a teeny tiny E cup to a J cup in just 5 mins  I wouldn't let her tell me the size because I just wanted to be comfy but my BB's seemed to have settled down since 13 weeks but it is so comfy I love it regardless of it's cup size

They are a little pricey but I was lucky because on the day they had all their bras half price so it was worth it.

My hubby was so sweet and went and bought me some maternity clothes today. He felt bad coz I cried on the way to work coz he made me l8. I think I traded ms for hormones :)

 Ladies,

GettingDesperate - You're birthday plans sound so wonderful so far! thats nice of your DH to organise the High Tea. What day is your birthday? mine is on Monday and I will be turning 26 :)
As for the endo pain it went away on sunday night but then i started getting the usual lower back ache so I think im just going to have to get used to it unfortunately.

babyjunkie - Glad your friend can give you some spares.....thats nice of her :) at least now you can ease your mind a little. Regarding the symptoms don't worry too much about not feeling much, I dont except sore (.)(.) 's and lower back pain with the occasional endo pain. apart from that i have had no MS (touch wood) lol

HaileesMummy - That's great news about your wiggly worm doing great! Good luck with your scan on 7th, I have mine on 16th and I cant wait.

hopefulnovember - glad to hear your MS is starting to settle. That's nice of your DH to make you feel better with clothes :)

AFM - Just wanted to say Happy Australia Day to you all and I hope you are all enjoying it. I decided to stay indoors this year as it is so hot in Sydney I would rather be in airconditioning

I dont have much to report except for the fact that I really cant wait to see bubs again on 16th Feb. I'm starting to get that worried feeling again like i did before my last scan....i know the worry will never go away thats why i dont say anything to the people around me.

Also I have been having alot of trouble trying to get comfy in bed......im almost doing 360's just trying to get into a comfy position and when i do about a couple of minutes later my back starts hurting etc lol.....i always thought this was supposed to happen in the later stages of pregnancy  oh well guess i'm learning alot!

hello everyone,

Happy birthday to those who will be celebrating their birthdays !! Hope you'll have a wonderful time.

AFM, my first Obs visit is fantastic. He is really nice although I didn't quite like his receptionist. Actually I find her rude. Not a nice person to deal with when we think this is a beautiful moment for us.
Anyhow, bubba is 8 Weeks 4 days today measuring at 2.3cm and still have heartbeat. Obs said my ovaries are still enlarged - yup, mild OHSS for me still and possible of cyst growth. Oh dear. Really hope my OHSS will subside and everything will be well. My next visit with him will be Week 12.
Oh ya, we were also given a choice to do the down syndrom test. Obs said it's not necessary since I am low risk.. DH and I will be having this lil one no matter what and leaning towards not doing the test.
What do you all think? Should we still do the test regardless?
It is a bit invasive..

Hello to everyone else, sorry no personals today as I am at work :p

Hi Highhopes,

Glad to hear that you got on well with your OB. about the receptionist, OHSS and possible cyst growth. I hope it all dies down soon, on the flip side, fantastic that bubs is doing great.
About the Downs Syndrome test, I didn't do it. The OB just measured quickly the fluid behind bubs head at my 14 week appointment and said i was low risk, so didnt bother pursuing, we too are having this baby no matter what.

I guess it is up to how you and DH feel about the situation. OB's advise against doing it if you are going to have the baby no matter what as for the full tests (amnio/CVS) theres a slight risk of MC. Goodluck with what ever decision you end up going with and :fingerscrossed: all will be smooth sailing for you :)

Just a quick update. They think it's either appendicitis or ovarian cysts. I think it's the later. I've have them before and apparent they can erupt at this stage. Im waiting for blood results and then hoping to go home. I have to come for an ultrasound tomorrow. They are confident I'm not miscarrying I just hope bug is ok!!!

Hey GD, how are you? How did your scan go today? I hope you're feeling a whole lot better today! Hugs x

HM, how's your bub going today?

Toshe, we were in the October group together but didn't have such a good month. I restimmed immediately and got a November bfp. I'm so glad to see you here - I saw you had a bfp and hoped you'd join us :)

DJJS, how is your BuG today? Everything is crossed for your appointment on tuesday!

GA, is everything ok? I'm hoping no news is good news.

T2SP, how's your day progressing? I'm having a baby brain moment but I really hope you have a lovely birthday!!! I couldn't believe it when I read you had no ms, I told DP I was so jealous and he laughed and said it was your DH that was lucky not having to hear it every morning. That earnt him a slap! It's amazing to me after feeling so dodgy for so long that 1. It's finally starting to recede and 2. Some people just don't get ms at all! Please don't tell me you have a ton of energy too (laughing) that would just make me cry :)

AFM: well, nothing interesting which is wonderful! oh, does anyone have awful grumpy mood swings still (after 12 weeks)? I really don't recognise this new me and I don't think I want to. I said to DP last night that I'm almost looking forward to going back to 'infertile, no periods/pms' me :( bring on the happy pg hormones!!!

28-01-2011, 11:41
Grumpy/teary/happy/nasty/crying um yea just some of the mood swings!! Grumpy and crying being the two most commen!!! Lol. Poor dh is coping very well with me tho. I balled my eyes out the other day coz while at the supermarket I thought I'd get chicken nuggets and chippies for dd dinner! Then when I got home dh informed me already had both in the freezer! I cried and cried!!

Afm. I'm doing good. So good I even mowed the front lawn yesterday!!! Looking forward to the 7th to get the date of our morph scan!!! Cannot wait!!! Fingers crossed for a blue one please!!!

Hi all! Thank you for all the well wishes. Bug is doing well with a heartbeat of 160. They think a cyst on my right ovary had a bleed. Now I'm just going home to rest and have some panadol. Thanks again ladies!

DJJS
28-01-2011, 13:20
Great to hear GD, rotten cysts can be a right royal pain! Take it easy and fingers crossed it all settles down quickly.

Great to everyone else is plodding along too.

AFM well, I have been in bed pretty much since Monday and the rest seems to have worked, and TMI alert, bleeding and spotting has now stopped. We've made it to 8 and a half weeks and looking forward to OB appointment on Tuesday for a bit of a check up after all these dramas. I had been coping quite well with the nausea, however last night marked a huge shift as nothing wants to stay in anymore. All my favorite foods that had been helping me feel settled now have me gagging. Absolutely nothing, including water, wants to go in today.
And this might sound weird, but I am loving every minute of it! Comforts me to know BuG is still growing in there.

Hope everyone has a pamperful, relaxing and stress free weekend.

J xx

Djjs keep an eye on not keeping water in. U might need to get some iv fluids if goes on for more than a few days. Try frozen icypoles, that's what drs told me when I could not keep anything down. Those ones in the plastic tube things!!!! X

:wave:Hi everyone, I am normally posting on the dec graduates thread I think I belong here too and looking at the roll call I must have posted here at some point

I have finally made it to 10 weeks today though it's been a very rocky ride with a SCH diagnosed at 8w6d by a huge bleed and then I had another one a couple of nights ago. I assume bubba is hanging on in there because there were no clots of tissue. :fingerscrossed:

I have my first ob appointment on Monday so hopefully he has a scanner in his room so I can see/hear the heartbeat again, just for reassurance.

I hope everyone else is going along ok. :)

 Ladies,

GettingDesperate - Glad to hear that bubs is fine! about the cyst.....thats awful. I hope you are getting much needed rest!

Scootslove - Thanks for the Birthday wish...it is on Monday and dont worry about pregnancy brain....I hear ya sista
About the MS, i too was surprised.....I was worried about being sick all the time etc and thankfully have had nothing. sometimes i forget i'm pregnant but i still have sensitive (.)(.)'s and a belly and some cramping. LMAO about what your DH said....I would have slapped mine too if he said that, I think they whinge more than us! Actually I've been putting up with my DH's "phantom pregnancy symptoms" its killing me  I sometimes feel that he should be the one to carry the baby and see how it feels then LOL
About the energy.....dont worry absolutely none! i've been soooooo lazy lately that im getting annoyed with myself. I must admit though the gym and pregnancy yoga are helping me a little so far.
I hope your MS goes away completely soon :hugs:

HaileesMummy - wow mowing the lawn! i think you have the tons of energy  make sure you take it easy though.....:fingerscrossed: that everything goes well for your scan :)

DJJS - Glad to hear that you have rested and are starting to feel a bit better.....hope the nausea doesnt stick around for too long :hugs: good luck with your OB appointment

pumpernickel - congrats on making it to 10 weeks! 2 more weeks and you will be in the safer zone. Goodluck with your OB appointment....i hope this is the end of the rocky road for you and you can at least start to enjoy your pregnancy :hugs:

SofieP - Hope your scan went well today.

 to everyone else i've missed.

AFM - just came back from personal training......boy does he make me work hard, but by the end of it i feel good. Im still travelling along but can't believe i have hit 16 weeks!!! I also cant believe how time is flying by!

Have still been feeling ok except every now and then i get several sharp pains in my pelvic area which is very annoying but im glad it doesnt last too long.
Just had a question, sometimes i have been feeling little flutters in my belly but its like a little push and then stops.....do you girls think that it may be the baby or am I just dreaming? LOL i just dont want to get excited for nothing

hope everyone has had a good day!

28-01-2011, 20:11
trying2staypositive, I reckon that's your bubba!! :smiliedance: I felt my daughter move at 17weeks so :highfive: They are just little flutter type things, really kind of hard to describe but when you feel it, you just kinda know.

Trying to stay positive- sounds like how my SIL described feeling the baby moving. Exciting. I was talking to my DH about how much I want to feel bubs move but by the end of the 40 weeks we'll prob be wishing the baby would stay still so we can sleep :)

Hello everyone

Sorry I have been offline for a while. I've had guests staying for more than a week and this new mobile internet connection I've got is completely hopeless - so slow! Makes doing anything on the internet a very time consuming and frustrating experience.

My first scan yesterday went really well. What a relief!! It was all very overwhelming. I was in a state of panic and cried most of the way to the appointment because I'd had a few days without MS and was sure I had lost the baby. I was so terrified. Such a relief to see and hear the heartbeat!! Up until then I couldn't really believe everything was OK because the little grey smudge on the screen didn't look like it could possibly be a baby! HB was 160bpm for 7.1 weeks which obs was really happy with. Our obs is absolutely lovely and we're really happy we've chosen him.

Struggled with ms all day today but managed not to throw up which was a relief. I have absolutely ZERO energy at the moment and had a very lazy day on the couch. The last few days have been so hot in Sydney and it was cooler today, so a nice change. As I have only just moved here, trying to adapt to the humidity and the heat is a bit of a challenge, even moreso now I'm pg! Have also been really emotional, teary, fearful, irritable etc. Not really like me at all so it's certainly an interesting turn of events! Also have pregnancy brain already - really weird.

So glad to see all of you and your bubs are doing well and hope it continues! I will try and check in a bit more regularly from now on if I can get this stupid internet connection to work.

Anyone bought any maternity clothes yet? Interested to hear where you are shopping and if anyone has any good online stores they recommend. I know it's still early days, but thought it might be fun to start looking!

Love,
Bellablue

Sorry Ladies I haven't been online in ages. I have had a lot going on the last week!
11w4d today! My husband also got promoted and now he doesn't work on the mines anymore YAY!!

Still getting very tired some days, and some nights still coping with nausea and yucky stomach aches.

Also starting to wear leggings and flowy tops!

The scan went great today. 1 in 8000 ratio so that was fantastic. Also bub was going crazy jumping up and down, waving, bouncing it was so funny to watch. Even the sonographer was laughing because she wanted it to be still so she could measure properly. We even got a small 3D photo.

I hope everyone else is going really well and welcome to the new ladies.
Hope you all had a great Australia Day.xxxx

Bellablue- my hubby surprised me with some matrnity clothes from target as I was feeling down. The sweetest thing ever. They were pretty frumpy and too big so I took them back and found so many nice tops in the normal clothes section that are flowey so have room for me to grow. They have great specials on and I got 6 tops for $80. I also found some nice skirts in kmarts maternity section. It feels so great to have new clothes that fit :) mine were really tight.

29-01-2011, 08:48
I haven't bought any maternity clothes or anything at all really. I've lost a lot of weight in the last two years so I might still have something around that will do.

I'm finding my tops are kind of ok and I don't mind if they get a bit tighter but my pants are gonna be an issue.

I gave my belly belt to someone and of course they haven't returned it :(

HM not good about the indigestion.

Well bubs and I are off to NZ today for a few days for work so be off line till Wednesday night so take care of yourselves.

Ps: finally bought bub a present - a gorgeous wrap with giraffes & elephants on it -which is quite apt as DH left yesterday for Africa for 2weeks - first thing I've seen that I just had to buy !

Hi all

Just did a quick read to catch up on what I'd missed and I am so happy to hear everyone seems to be plodding on and doing as well as a pregnant woman can be ( with the worry, the emotions and the pain).

I am now back for Monday to Friday as it is back to work on Tuesday. I will only spend the weekends at the beach now until mid March so lots of opportunity to keep up with everybody.

Enjoy the rest of day.

Hi girls,
Made our 1st purchase for bubs :) so exciting :) we got a cot, mattress and change table for $600 off eBay- all brand new :) we just have to go for a drive to pick it up this wk from kingscliff :)

I found the cutest cot sets from cotton box website... Now just have to wait to find out if it's a boy of girl :)

We have also decided on getting the strider plus with matching capsule. Found it for an awesome price on pramwarehouse :)

it's so exciting to finally be able to get excited :) even tho we r in the safe period now I still get scared and use the Doppler to listen to bubs hb every few days :)

anyone else bought anything new? Is anyone waiting till the birth to find out the sex?

 Ladies,

Firstly, thanks for reassuring me that im not imagining things  i did ask my sister who is pregnant and due exactly the same date as me and she said she could feel it too....so at least i can get a little excited about that although im still so worried (this is going to be a never ending story lol)

Bellablue - welcome to the TIRED CLUB! lol I have felt exactly how your feeling with the tiredness and also it has come in the way of me cleaning and doing stuff i usually do lol. i hope you feel better soon though.

About the maternity clothes, yes i have bought some maternity tops and pants....I also bought some maxi dresses but got the plus size ones which look like maternity anyways. I also bought a few maternity and non underwire bras as i was starting to get uncomfy with the wire ones. I got my stuff from Target but all those places dont have big maternity range.

sofiep - Fantastic news on your scan :highfive: glad to hear bubs is doing great and also :celebrate:congrats to your DH for getting promoted, this means he gets to spend a bit more time with you right?

HaileesMummy - :hugs: How are you feeling? I hope you were at least able to get some rest today.

Melk - Have fun in NZ!

Ivygreen - WB :) how have you been going?

hopefulnovember - Congrats on buying some furniture etc for the baby.....I'm still holding out lol. i am waiting till birth to find out the sex of the baby....im hoping that i dont notice anything at my next scan though

AFM - havent done much over the weekend.....have had a great deal of lower back pain as well as lower abdomen pain which is killing me because its just a constant nagging pain....but it seems to be getting a bit better now.

Apart from that not much more to report....except that i think i need another holiday from work already lol

Hope everyone has had a good weekend!

Hi Ladies

Sorry I have been AWOL most of last week as I had some time off work and then had a long weekend in Sydney. Have just been reading back a few pages but looks like there was quite a bit of chatter going on... probably too much for me to do personals so I will just do a general catchup!

Tiredness - aghh, I can't wait til I hit the 2nd trimester as I am totally shattered most of the time and the heat is not helping! I feel like a walking zombie most of the time :)

Shopping - Once I get past the 12wk scan this Friday, I am going maternity bra shopping as my current ones are getting a tad too comfy for my liking. Will go with my mum as she knows a specialty bra place that might be able to help with my mamma jugs (my new nickname for my HUGE bb's!). Re nursery items, again after 12 wks I am going to head out looking at cots and prams etc and see what I find. I am hoping that I might be able to get things cheaper on the internet once I find what I am after. Mum has already offered to come looking with me, I think she is excited about her first grandchild but I also know we will clash about the costs of everything (just like with my wedding, I will have to remind her that she had her kids 30+ years ago so prices have increased!)

Sofie - great news that the scan went well!

Bellablue - glad your scan also went well

AFM - 12wk scan is this Friday and I am still really nervous but slightly comforted but my huge sore bb's and constant peeing  I just hope everything is ok with jellybean! It will certainly be a long week of waiting for me.

Hi Everyone, Hope you are all well.....Just a quick one to see how everyone is going. Sorry no personals just sneaked on here while I wait to go into a meeting.

I am still in MS hell haha....I dont think this heat is helping the situation at all.

My husband brought me a fetal doppler the other day and it arrived this morning so hopefully we get to figure out how to use it and can listen to the galloping sounds tonight :hyper:

I thought it was sweet he got it to help put my mind at ease....but he also reckons I should be at ease as I am still constantly vomiting so it should be a sign Bub is growing haha.

Hope you are all having a great day and Mondayitis is slowing going away!!

Good morning everyone,

I'm still trying to jeep up with everyones stories ATM but finding it difficult as I'm so new. So I apologize for a lack of personals. I think it's so exciting that many of you are out buying items for the nursery. I promised myself I'd wait till the 'safe' zone but I was put shopping for a friends new bub the other day and came across the cutest unisex bunnikins gear, of course I bought it for myself. I got a 100% cotton sheet set, hooded towel, face washer, muslin wraps, bibs & suits for $100. When I showed DH he got excited for the 1st time.

HM - well done on choosing names. They are both beautiful! You are so lucky to be able to find out sex next week. I really want to know but DH wants a surprise.

AFM - I'm 8 wks 5 days today and have a scan at 11.50 today. I really hope all is well and can't wait to see bub/ hear HB.

mummyplease - Welcome back :) i'm in my second trimester and still always tired LOL. Good luck with your scan on Friday

Hilton04 - That sucks about the MS i hope it goes away soon. How nice of your DH to get you a doppler

GettingDesperate - Thanks for the birthday wishes :hugs: yours is Wednesday right? (i hope i remembered that correctly:laughing: at the rate my forgetfulness has been going i wouldnt be surprised if im totally wrong)

HaileesMummy - Thanks as well for the birthday wish....i hope the MS goes away sooner rather than later. I think a Facebook page is a great idea, count me in :)
Also cute names, cant wait to hear the outcome!

toshe - Fantastic news about bubs :smiliedance::smiliedance::smiliedance:

AFM - finally home after work and personal training....it is still 40 degrees in my area  and i am now sitting in airconditioning...yay!

Yesterday had a nice birthday at work.....got flowers, cake and giftcard from work mates, and hubby sent me 26 red roses. I had also bought 2 tickets to see Michael Buble in May last year and decided that it would be my birthday pressie which will be in 2 weeks so cant wait for that. I was kind of annoyed at DH though, I appreciated the roses and the tickets i bought  but when i got home after yoga he was asleep, i woke him up to have dinner and he wanted to have it in front of the computer because he had to do more work.....mind you no kiss or talking or anything.....after dinner i was waiting for him and because he took his time i just went to bed......when he gets in to bed he doesnt even kiss me good night or ask how my day was or treat me that little bit more special because its my birthday.....which is odd because he at least kisses me good night......i think thats when i realised i was becoming a little emotional lol so i just turned around and went to sleep......considering the effort i put into his birthday etc.....such as last year taking him to the entrance for the weekend, booking trip to WA, buying him a $500 watch etc i did kind of expect a little loving from him lol (not materialistic, just emotional stuff) anyways i think ive raved on too much lol :ecomcity:

Hope everyone is having a good week so far!

My name is Lesley Thompson and I have a pic of my daughter dressed in pink sitting on a rock as my profile pic. Please make sure you add your bubhub user name to the document I've saved on there once added so we can keep track of who we all are! and when you add me put a comment on there so I don't forget and ignore your request!! It's so great to hear of everyone's progress, all these little bubbas will be here before we know it. sorry for the lack of personals, but on my phone and it's a struggle to keep my brain flowing!

AFM - we had OB appointment today, was initially supposed to be our first appointment, but with all our complications, turned out to be our second. All is good, very good. Still no explanation for the bleeding and follow on spotting, but the good thing is there is no sign it's coming from our BuG. Speaking of BuG, great heartbeat, saw a little leg kicking around, and aging perfectly. In fact, measuring a day ahead (my little over achiever). 9 weeks yesterday, 31 to go!!!
Hope the ms is being kinder to you than to me, stay well,

Thanks Kim, that's so sweet of you to remember! I am totally petrified about the scan tomorrow, just hoping that everything goes well! Hope your pregnancy is still going well!

Hi to everyone else, sorry for not posting much this week, I have been reading but just keeping to myself until I get through this scan tomorrow afternoon. The usual paranoia has set in as this is the furthest I have gotten in a pregnancy! I will try and jump on over the weekend and let you know how it goes!

Hope everyone is having a nice day, very quiet in here!

Thanks Ladies - I had a mini meltdown last night, don't think I realised just how nervous I was about the scan today! It's not til 3.30pm so a little while to wait!

Then DH told me this morning that one of our good friends is 13wks along, so so happy for them as she was worried about having trouble falling pregnant but it appears to have only taken them a few months. He wasn't going to tell me til after the scan but I mentioned this morning about contacting her and he didn't want me to find out from her before our scan. Is it wrong though that although I am pregnant, I am still really jealous/envious that they got pregnant so easily while it took us 2 years including 9 mths of IVF? It sounds wrong when I say it but it probably doesn't help that I am a hormonal mess at the moment. Still, it will be lovely to have our babies so close together!

Hope you ladies have a fabulous weekend!

 Ladies,

mummyplease - hope your scan went well today? about your friend, i think its normal how you feel. I did get a tiny bit envious when (after I found out I was pregnant) I found out my sister was as well, and due on the same day as me, as well as one girl at work and a couple of other family friends all due within 2 weeks of me.

I think of it now though and i am just grateful that I am pregnant and I dont really worry about anyone else except that my bub is doing fine.

Happy Weekend Everyone!

HM- Sent you a friends request this morning.....sure hope it was YOU i sent it too hahaha....

MP- How did your scan go? Hope everything went well and you got some great pics!!

Has anyone heard from GreenApple lately?? Havent seen her around her for a little while....

Sorry this is a bit of a me post today....

Had dinner with a group of friends last-night and sometimes I sit there and think to myself, "WHY and I actually friends with these people??" Nobody other than our family know we went down the IVF route as we live in a kinda small town where people talk and just felt it would have put more pressure on our process if everyone knew. Anyways, one of the girls at dinner has been doing IVF since last-year without success and she is very open talking to everyone about it. She left dinner early so that was the rest of the tables cue to talk behind her back! (Again don't know WHY I am friends with these people!) Anyways they sat there and *****ed about how she's doing IVF. Heard a lot of comments about....If you need IVF its natures way of telling you not to have a baby etc etc....It got me so upset I ended up leaving. I tried to stand up for her as much as I could but me against 10 other girls was killing me......

Going to be interesting when we can announce our news next week providing everything is A okay with the scan on Wednesday :fingerscrossed:

Sorry bout the vent.....

Have a good weekend :)

Hilton, I understand you're frustration at your friends IVF comments. I grew up in a very small town where most people were very narrow minded. I had a friend who needed the help of IVF to conceive & many people still talk about her being selfish & messing with nature blah blah blah & this was 10 years ago. She is very blessed to have 2 beautiful children now thanks to ivf but many people still snigger over the whole thing. I can only imagine what they say about me & my family as I am very open about my struggle to conceive + I have twin siblings that are gay so we give them lots to talk about :) try not to let this bother you. We know that ivf is a miracle & that we are so lucky to live in an age where we have the technology to help us become parents.

Hilton - people are so stupid and insensitive!! I'm really sorry you had to listen to that ignorance & nastiness - until people have been in this situation they have no idea what it's like and what a blessing IVF is. I'm glad you were able to stick up for your friend!

Hilton - I am so sorry you had to endure listening to other peoples ignorance, it is very upsetting. Especially when IVF is such a gift of life!!!

My partner and I have been together for over 13 years and he didn't want children a few years ago and my friends knew about this as it was one of our main conflicts.... Anyway DP has changed his mind and here we are with twinnies on the way and very excited to have this joyus gift come our way.

One VERY long term friend when she found out asked if I was adopting or having a surrogate:freakingout: when I said not either they are our babies and I am due in July she STILL didn't get it:eek: -****. I was talking about the twins at work and a work college said 'oh you're getting more puppies":freakingout: NO I'm having babies!!! And other people are just overjoyed so you can never tell who is going to react in what way

AFM I still have MS :(, heartburn and this heat is just killing me!!! When all of this isn't happening I feel fantastic

Hello everyone

Hope you and all the bubs are doing well! I'm OK, still throwing up first thing every morning which I am a bit over, but at least it's only once a day so far. I am about 8.5 weeks along and have another scan this Thursday. So looking forward to seeing little bubs again, I have all my fingers and toes crossed he or she is doing OK.

The heat in Sydney has been pretty awful this week and although I know I am extremely lucky that we haven't been affected by cyclones or floods, it has made me feel really nauseous, saps all my energy and I'm a bit sick of being cooped up inside. At least I have air conditioning though, so things could be a lot worse! However, I am sooo looking forward to the cool change coming through and getting out and about again and not feeling so sick and tired all the time!

Started a new pregnancy yoga class yesterday morning which was great (although I thought I was going to vomit because of the heat through most of it). Really looking forward to doing that each week and hopefully meeting some more pregnant girls in my new local area.

Has anyone been using Bio-oil? A pregnant friend of mine recommended it as being great for preventing stretch marks. You buy it from the chemist and rub it into your boobs, tummy, bum, upper thighs, hips, waist etc twice a day. It's gorgeous stuff, although quite pricey. But well worth it apparently as she is 32 weeks now and hasn't had any stretch marks at all!

Would love to join the FB group, but like Toshie, I think I'll wait until after 12 weeks. I just feel a bit wary about FB's privacy and as we haven't announced our pregnancy to friends and family yet, I'd rather stick to BH for now. But hopefully I'll see you all over there in a month!

Will check in again later in the week to update you on my scan.

PS: Hilton, so sorry you had to put up with those comments from your friends. It's all very easy for them to throw those sorts of remarks around, but I'm sure if they had fertility issues and were desperate to have a family, they would consider IVF too. As the others said, we are just so lucky to be able to have that option these days. They just don't understand.

Whilst I know quite a lot of people that have used IVF to help them conceive, I also know people (some of DP's country siblings) that are completely against it "because it's not God's will". They have each had a baby every year since they were married with no end in sight. It's like babies grow on trees in that family they are so easy to come by! Neither DP or I are religious at all.

I'm a bit nervous about telling his parents we've done IVF because I suspect that they may also feel it wasn't "God's will". However, I am proud of the journey we have travelled and the obstacles we have overcome and the persistence we have shown in coming this far, and I am a pretty open person so I'm not going to hide it. Most of my good friends know we have been undergoing IVF anyway, and they have all been supportive so far.

I think we will all make better parents because of the effort we have put in to achieve this goal, we don't take it for granted at all like some people do. We are lucky in that this has been our gift. However, it takes all types of people to make the world and none of us really know what it's like to walk in someone else's shoes. So Hilton, my advice would be to just take what they say with a grain of salt and try not to dwell on it too much if you can. It's not worth getting upset over, you just concentrate on your own journey. It's a shame you can't relate to your friends, but sometimes in a small town you don't have too much choice. And we all understand, that's what we're here for!

Bellablue and Hilton, I just had to share my response to people who claim it's not God's will for IVF to be used. I always reply "if you believe so strongly (as I do) that God is the creator of all things, of all people, of all intelligences, then you must also accept that God created the very intelligences and scientific breakthroughs that led to IVF". They rarely have a response to that!

Hi Ladies

Sorry I didn't have a chance to post over the weekend, had a few things on and then our internet was playing up. Thankyou to those who were worried about how the scan went, it was very sweet of you!

So to put your minds at ease, the scan went really well :smiliedance: and I am totally relieved. I was ridiculously stressed the night before and going into the scan but once I saw the heartbeat I relaxed a lot!

Unfortunately jellybean (JB -I'm sure someone else here has the same nickname!) was being totally stubborn during the scan and lying on their tummy and for the NT measurements it needed to be on it's back for better results. So I ended up with 3 external and 2 external scans in the space of about 40 mins, plus lots of prodding, coughing, and rolling around to try and move JB. Luckily I have lots of internals before, otherwise it could have been a bit embarrassing :D I joked with DH that I might as well of gone into the scan naked  My lower regions are still feeling a bit bruised from all the prodding

We were lucky to get the NT results an hour after the scan and they were really good for my age, 1 in 5600 ish. I am going to double check those results with my dr tomorrow though as I was definately not expecting such good results. Either way, we are really happy and spent the weekend telling friends. I will tell work this morning and then tell others at work today.

I am still very nervous about everything but much less than before. I am thinking about hiring a doppler for a few months til JB starts moving around. Has anyone else hired one?

mummyplease
07-02-2011, 08:57
Hilton - I just wanted to say that I think it is disgusting that so many of your so called friends made nasty comments about IVF, you would think in this day and age that people would be more understanding. You have to wonder what they would do if the situation turned and they were the ones unable to have a child naturally. Sorry that you had to sit through all that, at least it lets you know who your real friends are! It also makes me feel very lucky that all my family and friends have been so supportive of our IVF journey.

Bella - I have been using Bio oil since the start of this pregnancy. I just rub it on my tummy and bb's for now. I already have sooooo many stretchmarks from previous weight gains and losses so hard to tell if it is working but my skin looks nice and glossy so I will keep it up. I have started using Cocoa butter at night as the oil is quite pricey. So hopefully using both of them will help keep some of the stretchmarks away (doubt it will help perk up my saggy bb's though  )

HM - I will come and join you on FB soon, I can't jump on FB at work and home internet access is dodgy so it may take me a little while (I am also a tad technically challenged!)

Hi to everyone else

MP Great news - well done JB :cheerleader1::cheerleader2: i hired a doppler but sent it back after a month as due to my placenta sitting at the front i could never get a regular HB and it was doing my head in. but if your placent is at the back it should be a lot easier.

HM - yay for your scan tomorrow!!! How exciting! Saw my Dr today and he gave me the referral to book in for mine in about 6 weeks - scary that it seems so close! Were you finding out what you were having?

Melk - I told DH last night that I want to hire a doppler just for a few months til I can feel bubs moving. As usual he thinks I am worrying about everything and need to chill but I will just go ahead and hire one...he won't mind in the end as hopefully it will relax me and stop me worrying  I have no idea about my placenta, would that show up on the 12 wk scan, nothing was mentioned? I will just try the doppler and see how I go, I can always return it!

Stayingcalm - hope you got to see bubs yesterday at your apt, you are so lucky! I wish I could but I am seeing a GP who doesn't have a scan machine

Saw my Dr this morning and all seems good. He felt my tummy and said it felt like I was about 14 wks - argghh, hope that is not a sign of a big baby  He also said my NT results were 1 in about 2700, not 5600 so not sure where the person got those numbers from, still the results are good for my age so I am not too concerned. Now to book in for my 20 wk scan!

Just out of curiosity, how much weight has everyone put on? On my scales I am 1.5-2kgs up (I fluctuate a bit with fluid etc) but the Dr's have me at 3kg (with clothes on and after breaky!). The dr said I should aim for about 10-13kgs weight gain but I think I will probably hit 15kg as I have always struggled with my weight.

HM - how exciting finding out the sex, I hope you get your little blue bundle :fingerscrossed: I always said I wouldn't find out for the first but would for the second but now I am leaning towards finding out...luckily DH doesn't care so it's probably my decision. Either way it's still a surprise whenever you find out. I feel like it might be a little girl for us, not sure why though, just a feeling I have?

T2SP - 5 kgs doesn't seem like too much, especially as you are over a month ahead of me. I am trying to just eat like I usually do (when not pregnant) but when I am tired, I tend to eat badly. I walk the dog everyday so I think that is the only thing which will help me keep my weight down! Enjoy Michael Buble, I have heard he is great!

Had my 12 weeks scan and everything is great! Was sooooo surreal seeing bubba moving around so much. BPM was 154 and I am low risk of Downs :) 1:18000!!!

Couldn't be happier with how things went on Wednesday.....my EDD was also revised as apparently my FN got it wrong by a couple days hahahaha :flowerz:.....So I will now change it on the roll call!

Sorry not personals will get back on tonight when I have a bit more time.....:highfive:

Very quiet in here lately!

HM - congrats on your pink bundle of joy :cheerleader1: - how exciting for you! And such a beautiful name too! You sound like you have everything organised, you just need the baby to arrive now

Hilton - glad the scan went well and such a great NT result! Looks like we have the same due date now and our 20wk scans are a day apart - not long to go now!

Hope everyone has a great weekend!

Hi Ladies, I have been coming online and reading but not posting (been busy)

Everything is going well for us, we are 17 weeks this week coming, time is flying by and I already feel that before we know it baby will be here!

We have almost everything now, baby room is all together clean and sorted, I am even as I type IRONING the babies clothes :O EEEK I must be bored right now LOL

So not much to report, I have been feeling a few flutters lately since 15 weeks, I think it's littles trying to let me know he/she is here

Still going with the first decision of finding out at birth the sex, in the mean time have been buying lots of yellow, white and light brown color clothes!

Nothing much else to report

HM - CONGRATS ON A GIRL YAY!!

I will catch up a little down the track with how everyone is going :)

Hi HN! I hope you have been well!! Thanks for the lovely comments! The cot is Boori, change table is the same, the chest of drawers and book shelf with baskets are from Ikea

DP was the best when it come to putting it together, we knocked it up in 2 hours (LOL shame it didn't take us that quick to get knocked up LOL)

I am so in love with the room, smells like new :) now for washing / drying / ironing clothes and getting the remainder of the house in spotless order!

Hi girls,
Hope everyones pregnancy is going along well.
Sorry Ive been MIA and Im yet to catch up on the posts and recent updates-so forgive my lack of personals today Im a bit sick.
My pregnancy has continued along in its quiet unassuming way of late barely a major symptom just the usual small stuff.
After celebratng coming off the drugs a week ago I had my first midwife visit @ the hospital of choice a week ago and after DH and I grabbed a spot of lunch before I headed off to work.
A week later I have been told what I thought was an evil gastro from hell is actually salmonella.. from the food court where we had lunch after our midwife appointment
Heaps of other people also struck down....Ive since heard !!
Talk about a testing time....all those preggo symptoms I missed out on in 1st tri I got in 4 days but worse.
We even had a practice run to the hospital ....me groaning in total pain,DH hitting every bump in the road me groaning etc etc.. and the rest !
However I only found out a day ago its salmonella and DH is now OS but back soon.
I initially thought about the baby and freaked but since have relaxed a little after much Googling.
I saw my hospital Doc for the first time yesterday he said there is not much can be done re:salmonella I just have to "ride it out" as I seem to be improving.
Fortunately babies heartbeat was detetected yesterday so thats a relief.
Anyway Im still rather unwell a week later after the initial fever,ab pains etc.. hit me so its back to the couch for me now I feel "weak".
Hoping everyones well and if you can add my 20 week scan to the "list' its on March 11th I'd appreciate the update.
Cheers all wishing you the preggo best-& stay away from hospital canteens and food courts !!

Hi Ladies

I promise to join you guys soon on FB but I just don't have much access to it as can't access it at work and I rarely jump on the laptop at home - so BH is easier for me at the moment.

Wannabe - glad you survived the cyclone, was your house affected much? Yay for buying some baby goods, I am hoping to make final decisions on cots & prams etc in the next few weeks. Thinking about laybuying them so I can slowly pay them off! I hear your on clicking your fingers and wishing the nursery etc would get done, we have so much to clean up in our nursery as it's currently a junk room!

T2SP - I can hang with you to keep this thread going  Goodluck with the scan on Wednesday and trying not to see what the sex is!

Greenapple - good to see you back again. The nursery looks great & it was interesting to see that we have very similar colours & ideas, not that I have even started mine! You are very organised!

Babyjunkie - sorry to hear about the salmonella, that must have been very scary! Hope you feel better soon.

Hi to HM, pumpernickle and everyone else

AFM nothing exciting to report apart from hearing JB's heartbeat last night on the doppler I hired. I feel silly hiring it but it was so reassuring hearing it and it has already helped to calm me down a little  Oh and I think I might be finally starting to show a little, I am not a skinny girl but my belly seemed a bit bigger this morning (and not from weightgain ) so I will see how it goes. Still trying to find stupid maternity bras to fit me but nothing fits properly which is really frustrating. I will keep hunting though as my other ones are not that comfy anymore!

Hi everyone

Sorry I haven't been online for a while, still having computer troubles! I have tried a couple of times to write something, but BH (or my computer) wouldn't let me :(

We had our 9 week scan last Thursday which went well. I'm now 10 weeks today which feels like a bit of an achievement to reach double figures! Still vomiting every morning which I am really over, and have some MS during the day and in the evenings, but not too bad. Still really tired and it's a struggle to do much some days. I'm hoping I will be a new woman after 12 weeks, but maybe that's wishful thinking! I've had one nap already today and now feel like another, and it's not even 4pm!

Looking forward to joining you over at FB once I hit 12 weeks.

Will try and post again after my next OB appointment next week.

Love to you all!!

Wow, it's quiet in here. Is everybody just on FB now?

T2SP - How was your scan and Ob appointment, love?

Bellablue - that's great news about your scan. 12 weeks will be here in no time.

Mummyplease - I was so tempted to hire a doppler. I've been feeling bubs move around for the last one or two weeks though, so that reassured me. I think the worrying will never go away.

Wannabemum and GA - you guys are so organised. We haven't bought anything for bubs yet. The only thing I have bought for this pregnancy is some maternity clothes, because I just didn't fit into my old ones anymore. :D :D But my MIL has just told us that she would like to buy the pram for us, so that is great news. :celebrate: Just need to decide which one.

HM - wohoo for a little girl!! :cheerleader1:

BJ - oh my God, salmonella would completely freak me out. Hope you're feeling better, hun.

AFM, cruising along just fine. My bleeding has finally stopped about a month ago. Hurrah for that!! I've got my morphology scan on Monday and my Obs appointment on Wednesday. A bit nervous, but hopefully it will give us a better indication on how real the risk of Downs is. :fingerscrossed: all is well.

Two days ago would have been the due date of my previous bubba. It would have been harder if I wasn't pregnant now, but I still had a little memorial for my little angel.

 Ladies,

Natalsche - Hey hun, my scan was excellent.....no visible abnormalities and bubs was really a wiggly worm and wouldnt stay still lol we have decided to leave the gender a surprise :)

Bellablue - Glad to hear everything is travelling smoothly for you. I think after your 12 week mark your energy should start returning slowly but you will still get tired easily lol

AFM - still on cloud 9 after yesterday's scan.......bubs kept moving around in the wrong position and it took us a good 45mins to 1 hour just to get the scan done. thankfully there was no abnormalities detected with that scan so now i can sigh with relief until the next scan

nothing more to report except that i can feel bubs wiggling around more and more which is very reassuring.......hope everyone is well!

 everyone

Been quite quiet in here. I am now 13 Weeks !! Unbelievable but feeling good.
Someone was worrying if bub is doing well after stopping all pessaries and waiting for Week 12 scan? (Sorry can't remember) This is absolutely normal hun... I was in the same boat too - every stages seem to have worries involved. But just stay positive... Everything will be fine.

I do not have another scan until Week 18.. Well, it's gonna be a loooong hard wait.
Updating our roll call.

Sorry no personals today... going out for breakfast with DH (been a long time since we do this :p)

Hello Highhopes,

It's nice to see you're still here. I haven't moved over to the FB page just yet as I wanted to wait till the family have been told ( which will be next week).

Congratulations on reaching the 13 week mark, that is super exciting. I'll be joining you Thursday next week - I also have NT scan same day.

I hope you enjoy breakfast with DH. We also went out for breaky this morning which we haven't done in a while but as I'm still suffering from ms it was a bit of a disaster :)

Hi all - have been for my 20 week scan and all is well and perfect with my little pink and blue bubbas :smiliedance:

As for the FB page it is my preference to stay here and I think it is a real shame that others who do not want to join now have a dull and queit thread - it is really sad actually......

Good morning,

Toshe and highhopes- congrats on reaching 13 week mark! The 18 week scan is very exciting.

1bella - how cute a pink and a blue! That is so exciting. We decided not to find out so gender of our baby is still a surprise lol. Are you felling any movements yet?

As for Facebook, join when you can if you would like to. I'm still lurking around trying to keep this thread alive too though lol.

I will update the roll call tonight as I'm on the iPad now.

AFM - not much to report except I can feel bubs moving here and there throughout the day, nothing too intense but it gives me a bit of relief because the paranoia gets the better of me sometimes

Have you guys started buying stuff for the baby yet?

Have a good day everyone.

Hi all, sorry not on here much but good to hear that all seems to be going smoothly. We had 20 week scan this week as well - though only 19 weeks - and was really relieved to find that all is well with bub. Bella, how wonderful that you have one of each! We found out the sex - yay! - but are keeping it our little secret for the moment :)
Toshe & highhopes - congrats! SO good to get to the end of first tri! Hope lots of energy hits you soon!

Hi Ladies

I am still on here too, just have not posted for a little while. I must admit to agreeing with bella that my preference is to stay on BH over FB as this is easier for me to access at work.

T2SP - great that you can feel bubs moving, I can't wait for that time! Re buying baby stuff, I am close to buying some of the big things like cot, car seat etc but still making my mind up about the pram. I love the Baby Jogger City Select but am dragging DH to the shops again on Saturday to make a final decision about it and look at some others. If I still like it, I have seen it on sale on the internet and can't resist a bargain!

Bella - congrats on your pink and blue bubbas, very lucky for you!

Staying calm - glad your scan went well too! Do you think you will be able to keep the sex a secret for the whole pregnancy, I know I couldn't. I would like to find out the sex but DH doesn't want to so I will be having a really good look at the scan in a few wks unless he changes his mind

Hi to HM, Toshe, Highhopes and everyone else who is still lurking.

AFM - a rough week last week as my grandmother passed away :( but she was 97 and had an amazing life which makes it a bit easier. Pregnancy wise I am feeling fine although can't shake the feeling something might be wrong. Still using the doppler which reassures me a bit. My 20 wk scan is in about 3.5 wks so looking forward to that. Still waiting for my belly to pop, guess I should have lost a bit more weight before getting pregnant

Hi everyone

Good to see a bit of action going on in here lately! I must admit I wasn't checking very often as it seems everyone has gone to FB. I'm pretty keen to stay here too if we can revive the thread? It does seem like a bit of a shame because there are lots of benefits to BH, and not everyone has or likes to use FB.

All is going really well with me, we are now 13 weeks! Obs actually changed our EDD last week as baby was 6 days ahead. Really weird how that can happen with IVF?!

We had our scan today and all looked great! Baby is very cute and very active and had a major case of the hiccups! Then it went to sleep with it's face on its hands like a little puppy, so gorgeous!! Very low risk of downs - only 1 in 1544. For my age it was supposed to be 1 in 164 or something like that. We have had the best day telling everyone our news, it's so exciting! I was actually a bit nervous about telling people, but everyone has reacted really positively and are really happy for us which is great. It has almost made me feel a bit teary to know how much people care, it's all a bit overwhelming really!

Lots of love to everyone and I vote, stay on BH!! We need this forum and that's why we joined!

Hi All,

BellaBlue I'm so happy for you. It sounds like you have had a fantastic day!!!

We also had our NT scan today and all is perfect. Baby was wriggling around doing a little bum dance and waving at us :). They changed our EDD today as well (just by 2 days) so it's now 6/9/11. We are also very low risk of downs and told all the family who are over the moon for us :) We had a super fantastic day, seeing little bubs and buying baby stuff.

I'm so very very happy.

Toshe xx

Toshe & Bellablue - yay for great scans & getting to tell everyone!! It's so lovely to finally share the good news with people who love you! Enjoy!
MP - really sorry to hear about your grandmother. And I've found myself constantly feeling like something is wrong - but every scan has showed a healthy bub. I think it's just the default positions for our brains after all the hardships of IVF / infertility. Glad you've got the Doppler for reassurance.

Bellablue & Toshe - :smiliedance: congrats on your great scans and even more relief that your NT results are low. How exciting is it to see bubs wriggling around (although JB was being ridiculously stubborn and it took forever to get the NT results!) How nice is it being able to announce the pregnancy and it is lovely when people are so excited for you - I think because we know about the pregnancy from week 4 that you almost lose a little of the excitement until you tell others about it and feel their excitement IYKWIM?

Stayingcalm - Glad I am not the only one who worries. I do think I will improve/relax after the 20 wk scan or when I start to feel movement - but the doppler is definately keeping me sane at the moment.

TGIF :cheerleader2: this week has been such a long one!

And :cheerleader1: for more chatter on this thread too, good to see it revived!

Have a great weekend everyone!

 Ladies,

mummyplease - Sorry to hear about the loss of your grandmother. Good luck with your scan in a few weeks!

Bellablue - Fantastic news about bubs! they probably changed it because its measuring ahead.

toshe - Congrats to you too on the fabulous news!!! wont be long before you do the next scan and see a lot more :)

AFM - Well I think everyone assumed alot about people leaving BH for FB. I have been lurking around and even posting but no one replied, so I thought you all decided not to post. Anyways regardless.....we know we are here now so we should not be shy and keep posting......at least thats what i will do as well as being on FB.

So im 21 weeks todayYAY! and I cant wait for my next OB appointment as I keep getting paranoid about bubs not doing well then i feel a few flutters here and there.

If I have energy this weekend i might get started on cleaning out the baby's room so we can start painting it etc.
Have you all bought things for the baby yet or are you like me and still waiting?

Haha! I'm sooo confused I can't remember who is who from fb / bh!!!!! I might have to print my list!
I have been checking but was no posts but after a week of not checking here u all are!!!!!
Our little miss Claudia is going very well and wiggling heaps!!!!!!!!
We pick up our layby Friday next week so I can't wait for that!
This weekends must do project is clean hailees room, trash some old toys and get dh to get the tubs of baby stuff from the top of her wardrobe and I can then sort out!!!!!:-)
Hails room is a challenge with a very active 5th girl who has a wicked imagination I also have to contend with not only toys but paper and toilet rolls that have been made into ppl and shoe boxes that have been made into dolly beds and clothes and sox and teatowels that have been used on teddies as dress ups and / or blankets or rugs or capes etc etc!!!!!
She plays very well by herself but makes one heck of a mess while she does it. I'll take b4 and after pics for those on fb to show ya, I can't add pics on bh I too silly to work it out!!!!! Lol
Hugs to all, TGIF and have an awesome weekend! xxxxxx

Ahhhh - it's great to have some chit chat going on in this little ol thread once again!!:smiliedance:

I've had a busy week I cant believe I'm 22 weeks and now only 9 weeks till I finish work OMG..... Getting to the pointy end of the journey and the start of another - CAN'T WAIT!!!

I also went to a multiple birth association evening - it was very informative and scared me a little regarding the possibility of premmie bubba's! But now I'm prepared and thinking about it!!

Am feeling tickles and the odd thud from bubbies what a strange but fun experience, I wish DP could share this but it's too early for the obvious movements! MS lasted for 20 weeks and then the reflux started but the meds have put that at bay and now just tired!!

They are all washed, dried and in Claudias room waiting til we pick the tallboy up on Friday so I can start sorting and put them away. Yay!!! I cleaned hailees room on the weekend woo hoo!!! It has a floor again now!!:-)
Hope u all had a gr8 weekend and all is well in ur worlds! xoxo

Hi Ladies

Hope everyone had a great weekend, we had lovely weather in Melbourne for a change!

HM - glad you cleaned up Hailee's room and yay for being given lots of baby clothes!

Bella - wow, I think I would be scared after the multiple birth meeting...especially about the possibility of prems. 2 girlfriends of mine have recently had 8 wk and 6 wk prems so I am scared it is going around  So jealous of the movement you are feeling too.

T2SP - did you end up cleaning out bubs room? I just look at mine and wonder where everything is going to go, it is one (of a few!) junk rooms in our house so I might just end up disbursing the junk to other rooms  Oh and there are no blinds in there and it gets a bit of sun so we need to investigate blinds too!

Hi to everyone else

AFM - I am really really excited as we pretty much put all our big baby items on layby on Saturday - we didn't mean to but we knew what we wanted so it just made sense. We bought a boori cot, mattress, King Parrot (KP) change top (we have a chest of drawers already which we will paint it white and the top will sit on that), KP bassinett, Safe and sound meridien car seat, Glider chair and my Baby Jogger City Select pram! Looks scary seeing it all written down but we will need it all (and no doubt more) when JB arrives. We were lucky and got a 10% discount on most items and even more lucky that we only need to buy the bassinet and car chair as the rest will be gifts from our parent/grandparents.

Also, visited my SIL who has 3 kids and she gave us her bath, walker, bouncy chair and 2 boxes of boys/girls clothes, mainly in 00 and 000! And our SIL's said that they will buy us a high chair as a gift, so again, very lucky with what we have to buy, I feel spoilt!

DH also bought me an early bday present yesterday, a video recorder as I want one for when JB arrives, I don't want to miss anything :)

Anyway, I am :ecomcity: a bit but I am a tad excited...it just makes things feel more real. In reality though, I am still quite paranoid about JB being ok so I can't wait til the 20wk scan in a few weeks or to at least feel some flutterings! My friend who is a week ahead started feeling flutterings and I am very jealous :)

Have a great day ladies!

1bella - sounds like the multiple births group was a great idea - I've heard they are so helpful. You must be so excited to be having two, I'm sure it will be wonderful!
MP, that sounds like such a fun shopping expedition! We haven't bought anything yet (& will probably be mainly stocking up at IKEA :)) but I'm looking forward to the day we do. I can imagine it makes it seem real - which is scary & exciting!!

Afm, work gets crazy busy from tomorrow, so I have s'thing else to think about than bin! My main struggle is keeping my caffeine consumption down once I get busy - I've been having one weak cup of real coffee in the morning plus the occasional cup of tea... but hard to say no to a choccie or coke at work once I get tired.

Wannabmum29 - how did you go with your OB appointment?

Toshe - how did you go with your scan?

1bella - Wow, i would be scared too lol. At least they have told you now so you can be prepared. Have you thought about a birth plan for your babies?
Congrats on reaching 22 weeks, ill get there on Friday. I guess now we start the count down

mummyplease - unfortunately no i didnt clean that room yet.....I look at the room and think oh im already tired lol I had the cleaners come on sunday though, so pretty happy with the rest of the house being cleaned. We have a few pieces of furniture in that room which we have put on ebay to get rid of and that would be half the stuff lol.

How exciting about the shopping and getting the free stuff.....thats awesome! I actually cant wait to go baby shopping but still resisting until i have cleaned out that room :D

Stayingcalm - When are you planning on stopping work?

AFM - Have been busy at work. Thankfully found out that we secured another 3 years of government funding for my program, so at least i will still have a job to get back to, plus now i can go on maternity leave without worrying too much.
Have been feeling paranoid lately that something is not right with bubs as i havent felt it move in a week or so, but still trying to remain positive and looking forward to my next OB appointment on the 17th so he can do another scan.

Hope you are all doing ok :)

Hi all it is great to see you all travelling so well...

I'm now getting thuds and tickles from bubs and if I rub my hands over my belly in spots it is really lumpy!! Both of my bubs are lying transverse (sideways) so I'm not protruding like others but I'm happy with that so far :)

I'm getting tired - slept for 2 hours after work this arvo so no housework or dinner done tonight

I'm getting lots of advice re: contraception after bubs are born in the form of after your body is programmed whalla it happens:freakingout: then about labour, pre term babies oh and everyone has a morning sickness story to share :freakingout:

 Hi there Ladies, I must apologise, I have not been on here for ages! I have been mega busy and tired! I hope everyone is travelling a long nicely! I feel bad but I was wondering if I could ask for some support from those who may know a bit on what I am about to write..... I know I dont really deserve it as I have not been much of a support to you all and I truly am sorry but I really am a bit emotional at the moment .........

I went for my 19 week morpology scan today thinking I would have good news of what we are having and instead have left a bit shell shocked... The sonographer lady said that bub is a bit tiny...at first she said that bub looks to be over a week behind but then when I asked her what it states she said 18 weeks 5 days...which is only 2 days difference. Then she asked when my next appointment with my OB was and I said the 29th. And she said when he gets the scans etc he may wish to see me sooner. Ok so now I am worried! So when we left we had to go to the hospital and hand in the admission papers and my OB is right next door so I went up and saw the nurse and asked her should I drop the scans off to them when I pick them up etc. The nurse told me that bubs are week behind or advanced and it is ok and nothing to worry about. But she would get my OB to call me. So I felt better and broke down crying. Then 15 mins later my OB called and asked me if I could pop in with the scans and we'll have a chat. So bang, im freaking again! So we went in and he had a look at the scan and they state that bub is measuring 2 weeks behind. So he suggested that I go and see the specialist at the local hospital and depending on the results may need to get the aminino process carried out.......

So now I am truly worried. I read about the aminio process and the risk for miscarriage is there!!! They all said bub looks healthy but is just tiny! And as for the dates as you all know you cannot fudge them up as bub is an IVF bub. So I am waiting for the nurse to call me with an appointment to see the specialist and I was hoping that someone may have been in the same shoes as me prevoiusly??? I am so sorry to ramble but I am just upset. I have had such a good cruisey pregnancy so far and now I am floored!!! Any advice would be appreciated!!!

PS: We were also told 50-60% chance we are having a lil BOY :cheerleader2:

Wanabmum - I'm not so far along as you at only 14 weeks and this is the furthered I've made it in any pregnancy so I'm not so sure I can be too much help but just wanted to let you know that in everything I've read it's stated that the measurements are only accurate up till 2nd trimester after which time measurements vary so much the accuracy cannot be relied upon (sorry I don't have any scientific evidence to support this statement). My sister recently had a bub - her bubs was measuring small and a few weeks behind from about 17 weeks and she had a perfectly healthy baby. I'll keep my fingers crossed for you :)

Wouldn't this be the case with every pregnancy? 50% either way

I wouldn't worry yet about your bub measuring small, bubs come in all sizes and a week isn't much to be out, especially when you said it's really only 2 days?

What did your ob end up saying about it all?

Wannab, I'm sorry, sending you a big hug. I don't quite know how things are in your area but I would definitely recommend going to a specialist obstetric sonographer to get some really accurate scans of the bub done. Seeing a specialist is a great idea too, hopefully to say that everything will be ok.

When I had my last scan my OB said that bub was in the lowest percentile for size but not to worry too much as I was doing everything right and if the bub stayed small they might put me on bedrest for a while (but with my back that's likely anyway). She also said that she could be wrong and to wait until the 20 week scan was done as the place where I go is a woman's specialist centre. Ultrasound isn't a perfect guide and it can be person and equipment dependent - considering that she couldn't accurately predict the sex, I'm wondering if maybe she wasn't the most experienced sonographer out there. Did the radiologist come in to have a look? If not then try not to worry because they have to call the doctor in if there is something big going on. I know my situation is very small compared to yours but I do understand the worry of being told your bub is on the small side - I instantly started cataloguing everything I had/hadn't done. Pregnancy is a really scary time.
Please keep us updated and know we're thinking of you xx

1bella, yay for double boots in the belly! Can you actually feel them moving separately or is it difficult to tell? It must be a relief carrying on the small side considering there are two :)

Toshe, welcome to FB! My initials are JF on the site but I'll welcome you there too. I'm so glad that this pregnancy is going so well - we cycled together in Oct (or sept?) together. I felt better at 14 weeks than 12 because it took a couple of weeks for the ms to die down.

Hugs to everyone else. I think it's great that this page is still going and I will make more of an effort. I'm not an FB fan at all (because I value my privacy) but our page is private and no one can even search for it. I wish I could write here more often but I'm limited to my phone and it doesn't like BH. I will try harder though because I think we all need the support.

Wow thank you all for thinking of us, I appreciate it! :hugs:

Toshe - I am in the same boat when it comes to being the my first pregnancy past 8-9 weeks so everything is new. Congrats on being 14 weeks!!! And thank you for your words of advice... I spent last night googling and trying to read other forums when it comes to this and there are some cases where the person has gone to the specialist and even did the aminino process to find it was nothing and Bub was just tiny so fingers crossed I am in the same boat. How is your pregnancy coming along?

Pumpernickel - I know I thought the same thing but was just saying what the sonographer told us. I really was not too impressed with the lady we had... She changed her answers and thats why it confused me. On the scans it says we are 2 weeks behind schedule, so that is why I am a bit frazzled. Apparently they say a week is normal but when it hits the 2 weeks they want to know whats happening. I have no answers at the moment, the nurse called and they were able to get me into the specialist next Friday so fingers crossed we will know more then. But thank you for the support! How are you travelling?

DJJS - I understand and appreciate that! I know you all are a lovely bunch of ladies and dont mind but i just felt terrible for blubbering on and have not had a chance to catch up on how everyone is. But thank you!!! I hope you are going well

Sccotslove - Ty for the hug!!! And your advise, it definately makes sense. The thing is I should be due the 4th Aug going by the IVF dates but from my 12 week scans they said I was due the 6th Aug so technically I was 18 weeks and 5 days when they did the scan yesterday and now they are saying to have the morphology scan would be better between the 20-21 week mark as Bub would be bigger etc. I had the scan at the Xray place and the lady we had at the 12 week scan was excellent, whereas the lady we had yesterday seemed to not have the time in day for us. So I am hoping you are right and the specialist will tell us that she gathered incorrect info. The thing that gets me is that everyone has said that Bub is healthy etc and is just tiny so I am hoping that they have not left anything out but you saying they need the doctor to come in has made me feel a bit at ease. Thank you! I too am now thinking have I not ate enough food, drank enough water etc. It is so hard because we have only told a few close ppl and everyone tells you not to stress as it is not good for me or the Bub... but as you all know, it is different when you have fought so hard to have this lil bundle of joy, it makes a difference. Altho I will admit I am not as freaked and upset as yesterday and feel better that a) I have you all to talk to and b) my appointment is booked now. When the nurse called me today she told me that I need to be prepared that I might have to have the aminio done and do I know what it means and i said yes, she told me that it does not harm the baby and when I said but I have read that it can cause miscarriage she says yeah but that is a 2 in 200 chance and I said what happens if I am one of the 2........ One of my close friends also told me to understand that the nurses, sonographers etc look at babies and say the same warnings etc every day so sometimes they are emotionless when it comes to telling us things, which makes sense. How are things with you and the lil one?

Babyjunkie - Congrats on the good news of the lil :cheerleader1:. Thats excellent! Its funny how you just have a strong feeling of what bub will be! I too have thought I am having a lil man all along but not 100% yet! I hope you are travelling well with the lil princess? And thank you for the hugs and support !!!

Once again sending you all thank you :hugs:

Wannabmum, so sorry you've had this difficult news - not what any of us need!! It really does sound like everything is fine, if they haven't picked up any other problems. And those stats on amnio & miscarriage sound really high to me - we were offered cvs at 13 weeks because there were some downs markers - they told is 1/300 for cvs and even lower risk for amnio. Really hoping you can get some peace of mind from your obs. I know for sure he/she will tell you that you couldn't have caused this through not eating/drinking enough - as my obs said to me, unless you are seriously malnourished, the baby takes what it needs, if you don't eat enough it's your health that suffers not the baby's!
Babyjunkie - woohoo on good scan & baby girl! I feel so awed every time it dawns on me again that this is real!!

Sharl what are you going to do with bubs sleeping are you getting cots and bassinets or one or the other - I can't seem to make up my mind - buying 2 of everything at once can be a little daunting at times.

AFM we picked up our bargain of the year - 2 boori cots, mattresses and change table yesterday and one of the cots are up already and I'm so in lurve with it - I dressed up the bed and can't believe one or both of the twinnies will be sleeping in it soon :goodvibes::goodvibes:

 Ladies,.

Thought you guys can just type next to your name if you are having a boy or girl (or both) or leaving it a surprise :) that way the ladies with twins can add theirs too :)

babyjunkie - Thats great news about your bubs! :cheerleader1:

WannabMum29 - How are you going hun?

sharlsum - welcome to the thread. Wow twins! how exciting for you :)

1bella - How have you been? Thats exciting about the boori cots. Im planning on getting the boori royale sleigh cot....i actually cant wait now to start fixing the baby's room although that cant happen until i clean it out and get it painted lol.

AFM - still travelling well, am feeling bubs kick and move around daily now which is exciting. Have my OB appointment on Thursday and I really cant wait to see how bubs is doing.

Quick question, what kind of birth are you all wanting?

I would prefer a drug free vaginal birth but keeping an open mind (i do however want to stay away from epidural as much as possible).

Morning Ladies

Hope you all had a great weekend.

T2SP - I am still 'fighting' with my DH as to whether we will find out the sex of JB so hopefully I will get my way and we will find out :D I agree that once we clear out JB's room and get it painted, I can't wait to have all our furniture etc delivered and set the whole room up. We decided on a paint colour on the weekend, a nice pale shade of green. Re birth process etc, I would obviously love a natural birth but I also have a very low pain threshold so I am not scared to ask for an epidural/drugs if/when things get too painful!

1bella - every now and then I get a bit of cramping too - I am also assuming that it is just my body stretching and making room for JB! Re bassinets, we got one as the nursery is quite far from our bedroom and also I want to be able to move JB around the house depending on where I am (so we made sure it had wheels - got a kingparrot one)

HM - do tell what you got up to on the weekend - am not on FB yet.

Sharls - great to see that your pregnancy is going well, I remember you from your due in thread (was due in April for last pregnancy). Wow, not long now for you but I hope your little ones stay in for you.

Wannabemum - Sorry to hear that the 20 wk scan didn't go as you had planned, you poor thing to be told different things about the size of your baby. Hopefully as the others have said, bubs is just measuring a little behind and will catch up quickly in the next few weeks. It does sound though that the sonographer you had was not overly experienced which is a real shame. I hope everything goes well at your next apt but I agree that it definately sounds like you have a healthy baby in there!

Babyjunkie - congrats on a baby girl - I feel like JB is a girl so :fingerscrossed: I can find out in a few weeks and join the pink brigade

Hi to Toshe, Pumpernickel, Scoots, DJJS and anyone else (everyone has been too chatty lately - but don't stop!)

AFM - all well here I think although I hit the 5kg mark with my weight which I am not overly impressed with. I don't feel like I am eating more than I normally would (although I have a few bad days every week!) but clearly I am and the weight is jumping on me

How is everyone else going with weight gain etc or am I the only fatty around  People keep telling me not to stress about it but my weight has always been an issue for me, not helped that my mum told me I just look chubby and not really pregnant on the weekend :(- and then followed up that maybe the baby was still sitting near my back like at the 12wk scan and that is possibly why I don't have as prominent a bump yet? Oh and I am mourning the loss of my waist as of today - it has just disappeared :D

13 days til the big scan, I wish it would hurry up.

So great to see everyone doing so well and busily setting up home for bubs.

I am hanging out for the end of March when my work travel finishes and i can concentrate on what we need to do to get organised for bub. Buying a few little clothing pieces here & there but no serious buy up.... YET !!
As for the what birth i am planning it changes weekly , so have decide to just go with the flow at this stage and if something occurs to say C section then i'll do that otherwise we will proceed to a natural birth...

stay well and healthy :hugs:

Hi Ladies

Aghh, just had to change my ticker to show my increased age after a birthday yesterday :(- for some reason 34 has a much better ring to it then 35! Scary when DH wrote in my card that this is my last bday not being a mummy!

melk - lovely to see you back in here and very reassuring that you have put on similar weight to me - I just need to not stress about it (or how on earth I will lose it!)

HM - don't you just hate it when you lose a long post - I try and copy long posts before I send them now after a few bad experiences

Sharls - I was in the April/May/June thread which are in now I think (was due in April) - all going well so far and great that you and the twins are doing so well!

Stayingcalm - again, nice to see I am not the only one putting on weight at a steady rate, very reassuring  I think I will embrace it more once I can actually see a true baby belly and not just a fatter than normal one

AFM - not much happening, just really busy at work which is helping to pass the time til the scan. My clothes are starting to get quite tight but I think that is more from the increased weight then from bubs  Still listening to the hb on the doppler which is reassuring, especially now it only takes a few seconds usually to find it. To those who have already had babies, did it take you ages to stop stressing about everything and just relax or is it just me?....I hate being so negative about this pregnancy and stressing about every little thing and I hope that after the 20wk scan I will finally be able to relax & enjoy the pregnancy (gosh, I sound like such a broken record!)

Hi Ladies  Thank you for all thinking about me. How are you all going?

I am so sorry but I am going to vent again as it seems you all are the only ones that understand what I am going through............ Well we ended up going to the specialist yesterday instead of Friday, as they called us to come in sooner as they had a vacancy. The sonographer was a lot nicer than the one I had the other day. She then called the Dr in who then called another sonographer in... It seems bub is still 2 weeks behind in growth wise. And they have found that Bub may have a problem with his heart, they mentioned "Tetralogy of Fallot". Bub was moving around a bit so they didnt get the clear shots they wanted but it looks like Bub has a hole between the left and right pumps/ ventricles and that the artery to the lungs has not developed as well as it should have. We were asked on the spot if we wanted to have an aminio done and they listed all the negative things that this heart problem could mean. We couldnt decide on the spot. So we are booked in, in another 2 weeks to see if there is any change and if not then to have the aminio done. Deep down in mine and DH heart we know that Bub is ok and that is a hurdle for our lil fighter but yesterday and this morning I felt numb and all I could do is cry. I am in a much better frame of mine now. I am awaiting my OB to call as he is in surgery all day but he wants to see us and explain things so that may help. So :fingerscrossed:.

Does anyone know good foods or vitamins to take to help the growth of Bub and his heart? I have tried to google it but nothing really comes up! I know that I have done nothing to promote this but I thought if by some chance I can help it and make it better it is worth a try. Thank you in advance for your thoughts and hugs!!! It means more than you know

Wannabemum29, I'm confident bubba is ok. When preg with hailee they saw a mark on her bowl, which is a classic sign of downs! After amnio and lots of worry they tell me no she doesn't have downs but now it looks like that mark is actually on her spine ..... So I spent months being told she had spina bifida. She is now a perfectly healthy 5 year old little ratbag! :-)
Needless to say at our 12 week scan when they saw Claudia had an increased risk of trisomy 13 I challenged them and refused further testing until the morph scan! All chances have now been eliminated!
I strongly believe although they are doing the best job they know how to do they are human after all, and I think sometimes they tell u way more than u really need to know. Take it easy babe. I'm sure ur lil bubba is fine and dandy growing at her own pace in there! Hugs hunny. xoxo

 Ladies,

Hope everyone is enjoying their weekend!

sharlsum - wow 10 weeks not so long to go now! what city are you in? are you going private or public?

Melk - 8kgs is ok, Im 23 weeks and have put on 9kgs, OB said thats ok and about average these days. The only thing ill stress about is if i exceed the 20kg mark

mummyplease - My sisters tell me the worrying never ends, i think now its a fact of life for us lol. Im in the same boat always worrying and stressing that something is going wrong....then i have to stop myself and change my thinking.
Just try as much as you can to relax, as my OB says if you dont see blood its OK lol...take care

WannabMum29 - :hugs: to you.....what an awfully stressful time you are going through. I know its easier said then done but try as much as you can not to stress and take it real easy......also take each day as it comes, and hopefully your OB can reassure you some more.

AFM - Saw my OB on Thursday.....happy to report that bubs is doing great....still measuring 1 week ahead and everything seems to be normal. Bubs is in breech position (which i know is nothing to worry about now) but that explained why i was feeling the kicks so low and why my upper stomach is sticking out alot more  also had to do the vaginal swab for that bacteria thingy so I was glad that I had just come out of the shower and was shaven lol

Next appointment is in 4 weeks time and during then i have to do another GTT

Hi everyone - I finally have gotten around to checking out this group cos my DEC IVF group has kind of died. There are a few names I recognise from over the last 6 months... so hi all!

Quick summary on me - I am 40, had an egg donor to conceive and we we got lucky third attempt. Bub is due 01 Sep and all looks well so far.

Morning sickness has mostly gone (16 weeks now) and I am eating again after losing quite a few kilos in weight. I still am skinnier than i was before starting the pregnancy - which suits me as i am getting married in 3 weeks :)

There is a baby bump starting now too... and everything is well with heartbeats, scans and screenings.

talk soon!

Trying - I am not bothered by the the weight gain neither is my Ob, what did p*## me off was i had phone interview with the midwife from the hospital i am going to on Friday and she was asked weight gain and when i said 8K she was like" yuo've already done 8" i was dumb founded, i finally managed to say well i have been on steroids for 6 months and no one else is concerned so it's all fine ..
I wasn't too impressed with that. The thing is i feel great and the weight is all out front so i am happy and as you say if gets up to 20+ then i might get concerned but untill then i'll just keep going on .

Danni welcome hope your pregnancy continues smoothly

Morning everyone

Melk - great comeback to the midwife after her comment about your weight gain, I do think that sometimes people do not understand what we have been through to get to where we are today so a little bit of extra weight in pregnancy is the last of our concerns right now! I agree with you, although I am aiming for about 15kgs or less increase, I will start worrying if I get close to 20kgs!

Danni - welcome and yay for the morning sickness starting to subside!

T2SP - glad I am not the only worrier in the group, I am really bad tbh but my little bump is starting to reassure me a little! Glad bubs is measuring ahead, yay!

Wannabemum - sorry to hear that bubs might have a problem with their heart but as others have said, it sounds like you have a strong little fighter so hopefully everything will be ok. I hope you were able to speak to your Ob the other day.

Hi to everyone else

Happy to hear that there are a few ladies with similar weight gain to me, quite reassuring. I know my GP will weigh me next week as I have not seen him for 2 months so I am trying to stay at the 5kg mark (floating btn 5-6kgs at the moment!). With my GP, I weigh in with clothes on at the end of the day which is frustrating as I am huge and bloated at night so it will probably say 8kgs :) I will quickly be telling him what my scales tell me most days  But realistically, I guess 5kgs is not too bad considering I am nearly half way there.

My bump has finally decided to make an appearance which is nice, people are actually noticing I am pregnant!

Morning Ladies

Ditto to what HM just said and TGIF!!!! :smiliedance: Very quiet in here again!

This week has been a nightmare long and busy week at work so I am relieved that it is finally Friday and also that I got a really good sleep last night and am feeling refreshed!

Have my 20 wk scan on Monday morning and I am still petrified - I will let you know how I go and whether we find out the 'flavour' - still fighting with DH as to whether we find out

Have a great weekend!

Hi all

I'm here still, just not much to post about at the moment as I've been sick all week and without the old cold tab to help me it's been a crappy sicky week.

I've booked my GD test to have in 2 weeks - fingers crossed that's OK.

Booked my growth scan for the 14th April - Yay to see the bubbies again

I see my OB in 2 weeks again - I don't really like how he whooshes me through at the end of the day but it's a means to an end to see my bubbies.

Six weeks of work left - Yay!!

Other than that there is a party going on in the belly and it's fantasitc to get to 25 weeks today - ohhhh could just pinch myself :goodvibes: I am so grateful for being able to afford IVF and the wonderful people who helped us get to this stage and see our little blonde haired blue eyed (DP and I are both fair) bubbies in only a few weeks .....

I watched INSIGHT this week on the ABC and was disgusted that women who have no idea on infertility had the gaul to tell others what to do with thier bodies to the extent at making surragacy illegal in Aust and for couples to bring back babies from overseas ... how dare they say we all want things in life but we can't always have it - ohhhh made me cranky!! Let's make antiboitics illegal because it might help someone get better!! vent over ....

have a great weekend girls :wave:

Thanks 1Bella for sharing that info about Insight this week. I've just done a search on the internet and you can watch the show online at the following link... It's mostly about the pros and cons of commercial surrogacy, but does talk about IVF and egg & sperm donors as well. Something close to all of our hearts no doubt, and the surrogacy debate has always fascinated me (personally, I'm all for it particularly as it's the only way male gay couples can have a child). Those two women on the "other side" just made my blood boil!

http://news.sbs.com.au/insight/episode/index/id/357/Baby-Business#watchonline

We had our 16 week scan yesterday and all went well. (It was basically to check my cervix was OK in case I might need a stitch after a previous op on my cervix but they looked at the baby too.)

At the moment I am trying my best to persuade DP to be old-fashioned and wait until the birth before we find out the sex. He's desperate to find out, but I like the idea of a surprise! Don't think I could handle him knowing and me not, as I know he would play mind games on me which would be really annoying! If he really wants to know, then I'll find out too (of course I'm curious so I wouldn't really mind!). But we had some friends who had a baby girl last week after being told they were having a boy. I know that scenario is rare, but not sure I'd really like that outcome as it would really throw me!! I know colour schemes are not really that important in the grand scheme of things, but I would worry it would affect my bonding with the child that I had given birth to as opposed to the child I had been expecting I was going to have. I'm sure after a few days it would all sink in, but I think the first few days are going to be the hardest to adjust to as a new mum, without that additional drama!

Just spent a week in Melbourne which was busily spent at the great maternity shops they have down there. (Where are the maternity shops in Sydney I'd like to know?! I haven't seen one since I arrived here in January!) Got some great stuff but gees, they charge so much more for maternity stuff than normal clothes don't they girls?! Ie the bras I bought were something like $99 each!! Admittedly, they were made in Germany and are apparently the best on the market, but my god, I never thought I'd see the day when I'd spend over $35 on a bra!! I just hope I don't grow out of them in a month! Got some great maternity jeans which I LOVE. They are so comfortable!! Think I'll wear them forever, I love the band at the top! So much more comfortable than normal jeans! What a brilliant discovery!

Would love to hear what all you girls are wearing these days and plan to wear over winter...

Lots of love to you all and glad to hear you are all doing well. To the Mum of the bub with the hole in the heart (sorry, I can't scroll back and see the name), my thoughts are with you. I know it must be so worrying for you, but I believe it's quite common and babies mostly grow out of it, otherwise an operation after birth usually fixes the problem. My SIL has a baby due in a couple of months with a hole in the heart but is hopeful everything will be OK. I also had a friend whose baby had an operation for several holes in his heart and he's absolutely fine now. Hang in there and hopefully all the positive vibes we are all sending your way helps!

My partner and I are waiting - we want the "movie moment'. Who cares about colour scheme. the blues and pinks can be brought in later I htink. lol I also agree with bella about the pre birth bonding, creating your own little bub in your mind before actually 'knowing'.

I haven't bought a single thing for the baby yet - DP and I are getting married in 2 weeks so will be concentrating on that till after the hoeymoon. THEN we'll prepare for bub. I'll be about 22 weeks by then.

As for maternity clothes haven't had to go there yet - maybe a few more weeks i think....

Omg. It's getting to the point where I'm thinking of giving up eating. Everything I eat either gives me SHOCKING indigestion and makes me feel sick half the night, or makes me actually vomit half the night, or gives me gas sooo bad I vomit anyway. Seriously over it. :-(

Hailee ... This was happening to me too - my deepest sympathy with it!!!

I told my OB and he gave me a prescription of Pariet 20 mcg and it changed my life in an instant - Go to your GP today and don't suffer another min it is awful and makes life really really difficult.... I take one daily and if I miss a day I feel it so I make sure I don't.

Good luck

Hi Ladies

HM - sorry to hear that you are feeling sick - all I can say is to try and eat bland foods (savoy biscuits help me when I am feeling blaaa) and see how that goes (but have not had m/s/indigestion) so I have no idea how you are really
feeling!

1bella - hope you are feeling better too! Doesn't it sux not being able to take real drugs, I had a shocking headache last week and could only take panadol which does not really help!

Bellablue - Glad your 16 wk scan went well. Re maternity clothes, I have been wearing maternity work skirts and jeans for a few weeks and just normal tops. Not many nice tops around for maternity at this stage, there seem to be more for when you are much bigger so I am just wearing bigger sizes. Luckily lots of my work tops are still working for me! Am planning on just living in jeans and warm tops in winter (for Melbourne) and probably dresses and boots too (although tried my boots on the other day and I think my feet have grown, not happy ). Re finding out the sex of bubs, I always said I wouldn't for the first one but for some reason I just HAD to find out - I think it made things more real for me following the m/c last pregnancy? But it is in the back of my mind that they can get it wrong so we will have a boy and girls name ready

AFM - Well I had the 20 wk scan this morning and I am happy to report that all went well and we are having a healthy little .......

GIRL !!!!!

You ladies should feel very privileged because I am not allowed to tell anyone else  DH would only let me find out if I kept it a secret from everyone, including my bestie (and even then he doesn't trust me to not say anything!) Not sure how I will go but it is kind of nice knowing that we are the only ones who know! I am just telling everyone that DH was stubborn and didn't want to find out. I am SO happy it's a girl, that is what I thought it was all along and even though I wouldn't care if it was a boy, it's kind of nice to know my gut feeling was right :) Obviously I am also happy that we are having a healthy baby which is the most important thing!

So I am a happy little chappy today and hopefully my stress levels will now go down and I can relax with this pregnancy (well more than I have been!)

I will have to update the roll call!

Morning Ladies

Babyjunkie - sorry to hear that you are feeling a bit bla although I hear you on the snotty thing  I seem to wake up every morning with a blocked nose which is annoying! Luckily sleep is not a problem although I had issues when I was about 12wks but now I think my bigger belly makes it easier to lie on my side!

1bella - hope you are over your cold. I have a sneaky suspicion I am coming down with one, lots of sneezing the last few days. I'm having the flu jab at work this week so hopefully that helps me out for winter! How did your GD test go the other day?

T2SP, HM, Babyjunkie -

Not much happening with me, had a nice but busy weekend with a wedding on Saturday - such a long day, I really feel it now which is sad as I was only up til midnight! Feeling pretty good except for a cold which is possibly looming and I seem to be really hungry all the time. Question for you guys, has anyone had REALLy itchy boobs/nipples in pregnancy? Mine have been a nightmare the last few days and I can't stop itching (just there, nowhere else). Have been applying heaps of moisturiser as I heard it could be just that they are stretching and dry. Aghhh, not a nice feeling!

Still no real movement from bubs which is frustrating, I think I might feel the occassional flutter but definately no kicking. Think this little girl might be a late bloomer in that sense :p

I enjoy getting on here when I am able and I like to think we are all going thru similar things and like to talk and share info. I was simply sharing information about something that some ppl have a commen interest in. Anyhoo..... I'll be off now just wanted to pop in and say hi and that turned into an apology post. I hope you are all doing well and your little bubs are growing well.

Mummyplease, yes! I get horrid itchy, ouchie nipples at times...especially during the night. Sometimes I wake up and they are burning like crazy. I've found a mix of paw paw and calendular really helpful. My belly doesn't itch yet because at 22 weeks it's not getting big yet for some reason?! I don't get a huge amount of movement yet either and can understand the frustration...to feel it a lot at first I found lying on my stomach with my hands underneath helpful. How's bubs measuring these days? Hope all's well.

1bella, how did the GD test go? So far I've managed to avoid it because it makes me so ill but it depends on whether my fasting glucose stays low. Are you feeling a lot of movement? I'm sorry that the FB talk offended you, I have terrible trouble getting on BH sometimes because I can't use my laptop for it but I do think that there are benefits to both - I wasn't at all pro FB because I'm a very private person but I didn't realize that the group was 100% secret, you can't even search for it. I had someone recently work out who I was on BH so I guess we all have to respect each others choices. I do think that we all need support though so i'd like to make more of an effort on both groups.

Is anyone interested in setting up a buddy system for those not on FB so that BH can be updated when the bubs are born? I'm happy to join and can organise it, just pm me and let me know - perhaps for privacy just mobile numbers or email addresses? I'll then buddy people up and let you know who your partner is. No offense taken if you don't want to join.

Hugs to anyone I've missed xx

I can understand the benifets of both groups and I love FB myself but I am choosing to keep my privacy as being on both for the one preg seems pointless to me. Like everyone else time is precious so you eventually end up using one over the other and people shouldn't be torn which one they want to go to and spread thier time over 2 threads. From my experiences on another forum, FB and forum life can crossover and it ends in tears and hurt as people can get nasty and personal - this in my opinion is unhealthy, I have seen it and never want to experience it!

It isn't my intention to offend anyone and I don't want any apologies as we are all free to choose where we want to be but I just think we all started here and don't really understand the constant push that FB is better than BH - if it is access reasons maybe contact the BH powers that be and ask if they can assist making things easier. Maybe instead of repeating the FB contact PM that person directly.

AFM - I have avoided the gestational diabeties thank goodness, my BP is now in control, babies are in breach position at the moment and they are moving heaps and heaps - it feels like cats in a bag with arms and legs going all over the place. I've only 5 more weeks of work included in that is the Easter School break - so the countdown is on :cheerleader1::cheerleader2:

 Ladies,

Hope you are all doing ok?

mummyplease - Glad to hear you enjoyed the wedding! I hear you about the itchy boobs/nipples....sometimes i scratch mine until the blood pops up under the skin (eeek! lol) but i feel the itchiest after wearing my bra all day then taking it off at night. Oh and my nipples are sensitive which doesnt help either

1bella - You havent offended anyone, so dont worry about it! as you can see alot of us are still posting in here, so rest assured no matter who chooses what, we are all still in this together and are here to support eachother.

On a lighter note, glad to hear you have avoided GD....I have my 2nd test next week yuk! Have you decided what kind of birth you are aiming for? Also, lucky duck for having 5 more weeks of work.....I think i still have 3 months left lol

AFM - Got busy on the weekend cleaning out the baby's room.....and this time it was a big SUCCESS!!! we managed to clean out most of the crap and all the big items that were in there is now out of there. So i will be getting the artist over the easter break (if he agrees) to come and paint the design i want......yiiippppeeeee!

Apart from that, just been getting some cramping pains but seems to have settled for now. Its been so busy at work I am starting to look forward to my Maternity Leave!

Very quiet in here again!

T2SP - glad I am not the only one with itchy boobs/nipples  OMG it is so annoying, luckily it has improved slightly the last few days after applying heaps of moisturiser! And I have also scratched mine to the point of bleeding too, aghh! Congrats on cleaning out the babies room, I am hoping to get the rest of ours done this weekend although DH has hurt his foot which doesn't help when there are a few heavy things to move! We just have soooo much stuff in there though! We are planning on painting over Easter too, can't wait as it will look more like a nursery then!

ibella - glad you avoided GD and how lovely that the babies are moving so much! So jealous of you finishing work so soon!

Scoots - Bubs is measuring pretty well I think and I finally started to feel started to feel something the other night, just small movements I think which was quite exciting. I mainly feel it at night just before I go to bed, can't wait for some real kicks! Aghh, I hope my tummy doesn't get itchy too, the boobs are enough

Melk - yay another itchy lady  glad I am not alone. Hope you are doing well too!

Danni - there is plenty of time for you to join us itchy gals :D

AFM - not much happening with me apart from starting to feel something from bub - hard to describe what it was exactly but I have rulled out growling stomach and the usual grumbles. Just waiting for a big kick. Still listening to bubs heart with the doppler but only every few days vs practically everyday before the last scan. It just keeps me reassured until the real kicking begins!

Hope everyone is having a nice Thursday, I am at work and can't be bothered doing much for the rest of the afternoon! Have had 2-3 long work days this week which have exhausted me so just taking it easy the rest of the week. I think I have decided for now to finish work at 35 wks - I worked out I should have about 25 annual leave days owing when I finish up so that will give me some money coming in up until my due date. If I need to finish a week or so before, it shouldn't be too much of a problem anyway.

Hey ladies, how is everyones weekend going so far? I'm only 23 weeks but I feel like the energy of the second trimester is already starting to drop off. It could be the fact that I'm finding it really difficult to get any quality sleep too. Is anyone finding it hard to stop themselves sleeping on their backs or have any ideas on how I can prevent myself rolling backwards? I keep waking up flat on my back even if I make an effort to make side sleeping comfortable with pillows etc  hopefully bubs is still getting enough blood flow!

Mummyplease, how's dh's foot going? I guess it's a bit tough to ask him to clean out bubs room at the moment. I dreaded cleaning out our nursery because I knew I had so much to sort but thankfully once I started the nesting instinct kicked in and once I started I had to keep going until it was done. Unfortunately now it's basically an empty room because our house is on the market and we wont get anything delivered until 32 weeks if the house doesn't sell. I just want a nursery :impatient::impatient::impatient: but hey, at least it's clean :)

T2SP, how long do you have until you go on maternity leave? Isn't it crazy how fast the time goes.

1Bella do you intent to have the twins naturally if they turn ok? My sister had twins and one was engaged, one breach but she still managed a natural, I think it was tough though. I've been booked in for a C section but I'm still pushing for a natural. We'll see.

 Ladies,

Hope everyone is enjoying their weekends so far!

Scootslove - I too am feeling my energy levels go downwards.....as for sleeping I cant sleep on my back for long periods because my back starts to hurt and i get a little light headed....if your comfy on your back im not sure if it is a problem for bubs....i think its more that bubs cuts off circulation for you (I may be wrong so dont quote me on that ) I find the body pillow comfy to help me lie on my side.

I'm working right up until i'm 38 weeks, so that means 12 more weeks, I hope it flies lol

mummyplease - take some before and after pics of the nursery so we can post here im going to do that hopefully (if i dont get lazy )

That sounds awesome about your Maternity Leave.....Ive chosen to leave my annual leave just incase i need to use urgent leave when i do get back to work in April.

AFM - Bubs' kicks are getting stronger and more frequent by the day and they feel weird lol.....not much to report, except i have hit the 26 week mark yay!
Will try and post a pic of my bump once I figure out how to post pics

Hope you are all travelling well!

T2SP (T@SP) :highfive: for 26 weeks , i too hiy that milestone today- it's hard to believe 1 more week and we are into the final trimester.

Sccots - the only concern Dr's have with us lying flat on our backs is that evrything puts weight on a major artery the lies at the back and all this weight on it can cut off blood supply. I have found if i stack up 4 pillows and lie in a half sitting position this works quite well and doesn't squash anything, i find lying on myside really uncomfortable nad can only do this for short periods- so getting really broken sleep.

Hope everyone is well:wave:

Hi guys

looks like everyone is travelling well and we are getting to the pointy end of all of this, how exciting!!!

AFM - started antenatal classes last week and had a tour of the birthing suites:freakingout:and the hospital room  feeling better now that we know where the front door to the hospital is;)

I went to the OB's and he laid me on my back and the room started to swim and I felt instantly sick, that was caused by what you are all talking about so your body will tell you it's not right and you will have to move believe me!!! \

Bubs are both head up and very active - I'm a bit over 2 heads under my ribcage to be honest!! I wish one would turn preferably my blue one!!!

Other than that all is well.

Morning ladies

Scoots - I never got any extra energy levels when I hit the 2nd trimester - lucky you, even if you only got it for a few weeks! DH's foot is much better thankfully! I can't wait to finish clearing out the nursery over Easter and to start painting! You poor thing having to move before the baby arrives and having to delay doing the nursery!!

T2SP - I will try and remember to take some before and after pics of the nursery. Re my annual leave, I have decided to take all of it because I doubt I will go back to work full time after I finish maternity leave. I work in the city (40km away) as a receptionist and it is physically impossible for me to drop a baby off to daycare/gp's and then get to/from the city. I am hoping my work might find me some part time admin work when I finish maternity leave. Yay for being 26 wks!

Melk - Yay for 26wks for you too! Wow, must be fun stacking up all those pillows, not sure if my DH would love it if I did that but you have to be comfy. I am struggling to stay on my side at night, I always end up on my back. Lying on my side is starting to get uncomfy so might have to bring out the preggy pillow I bought ages ago!

ibella - glad the twins are going so well and you are feeling heaps of movement! I agree that I felt better having done the hospital tour and knowing where everything was. It was a bit of a maze to get to the maternity area so luckily DH has a great sense of direction as I doubt I will when I am in labour

AFM - had a busy weekend, a dog trainer came over to try and train my monster of a 2yr old spoodle- will see how that one goes! Then went to the baby show on Sunday with mum but we were in and out in an hour - it was interesting but not overly exciting. Oh and we bought the paint and everything we need to paint the walls and chest of drawers over Easter so I am hoping we get it all done over the break!

Woke up yesterday at 5am with the worst leg cramp, so painful and my calf hurt the whole day! I think I scared poor DH as he woke up panicked asking what was wrong, he probably thought I was in early labour or something!

Other than that, still feeling little movements and I think bub is hovering on my left side as when I looked down at my belly yesterday, the left side was definately rounder than my right side  DH thought I had gone loopy when I tried to explain it to him...lol!

Hope everyone else is well.
