I know that I have put on alot of weight already (5kgs) but I thought 16wks would be too early for this type of pain!

I have an old lifting injury in my right buttock which has been aggravated from lifting my toddler. I now cannot put any weight on that side without wincing in pain. I am trying to understand if the sciatic type pain in my legs and feet is due to my new waddle or just a normal symptom of pregnancy.

I didn't get any of this with my first pregnancy even though I put on 20kgs, but I was not lifting a 15kg toddler then.

My Dr mentioned referral to an Osteo (i think?) if it doesn't improve. Can anyone advise what an Osteo would do for it?

Thanks

:hugs: hope the pain starts to ease soon. Haven't had anything like this in either pg's.
Don't know what an Osteo doc is, but if your Dr suggested a visit it probably wouldn't hurt.

Hi, aparently some where between 16-26 you have an huge increase of the pregancy hormone relaxin (this allows your joints, ligaments and body to stretch to hiddeous proportions!) For some people like you and Me this can happen in 2nd pregnancy after never having it last time. I am at 28 weeks and you will be happy to know every thing did calm down (mine got bad at 18 weeks) by 24 weeks, so hope fully this is the case for you too. It really sux, because my 1yo son was being excessively clingy and was sick for a week and a bit and just wanted to be held the whole time. But now that the majority of that pain is gone I am get nite cramping in my calves and rib kicks! Fabbo, one symptom for another!

Hope every thing improves, so you can enjoy your pg
