Hi there,
I am five weeks pregnant today and have been bleeding on and off since two days before my period was due. I have also been having mild period like cramps. I have been told that this could be a threatened miscarriage. I am waiting for blood test results. Has anyone had any similar symptoms and what was the outcome? I'm finding it hard to deal with the uncertainty. We lost our third baby in May at 17 weeks and I would hate to go through that again.

You poor thing! I pray that this little one will stick for you!
If you have a look I know Cosmic had a similar thing and created a thread (5 wks pregnant and spotting) , maybe that can be of some use to you.
Good luck!
Yeah I have a similar story...posted it in Cosmic's thread...hope it all is ok for you, take care and I wish you all the best
hey try not to worry
I had bleeding at six weeks with my second. I hadn't been to the doctors so I figured the hpt was wrong and it was my period! It was bright red and I also had mild cramps. It lasted on and off for 4 - 5 days. They could give me no reason why. Had no more bleeding after that and she was perfect. If you get more cramps and start passing clots then you really need to get it checked out. But really try to relax and ask your doc for an ultrasound in a few days.
I wish you the best of luck:)

I too had some light bleeding at 5 weeks. I put it down to implantation bleeding. My Hcg was low at that stage so I figured we'd caught it really early (pregnancy that is) and sure enough I now have a 5 1/2 mo daughter :)

Thanks for the encouragement everyone. It is nice to know that this can happen and still have a good result. I got my blood test results yesterday and they are completely normal for this point in the pregnancy which is a good sign. I'm having another test tomorrow so fingers crossed.
I read Cosmic's thread and it did help. I sure wish I knew about this site when I lost my baby in May. It helps to talk to people who have been through something similar.
Thanks again.

If it's any help I bled through all my 3 pregnancies. It occured around 6-11 weeks and every time I wondered if it was to be a miscarriage. Doctors could never tell me the cause, although I linked it with straining to go to the toilet (No.2's), which is when it would usually happen. I didn't get cramps, though not everyone is the same.
So if all is still well, make sure you take heps of fibre and prune juice to avoid constipation and perhaps the bleeding might cut down too.
