Obstetrician Costs

Hi there

Im currently TTC :fingerscrossed: and wanting to know if anyone has used Louise Farrell, obstetrician in Subiaco Perth recently. I went to her with my first bub in 2008 but since then obstetrician costs have changed and was wondering if any knows how much her current 20 week management fee is and how much the medicare rebate is on that fee.

Also - does anyone know of any other obs at either SJOG Subi or Murdoch that do VBAC?

I can't help with the management fee as all OB's are different but the Medicare rebate is capped at about $460.

I see dr anna holmes at SJOG subi - i have heard she is pro VBAC, but i dont know for sure, being that i am not in that position.

Her management fee is $1500

My OB is Dr Catherine Harris and I believe she now delivers at SJOG Subi, but I'm unsure as to whether she does VBAC. Her management fee is currently $1995 and I received $475 back from medicare.

This has changed since I had my DS in 2009, back then she charged $2700 and I got about $1400 back from medicare. Since then medicare have capped their rebate on OB fees but she has lowered her fee accordingly so I'm still about the same amount out-of-pocket.

She is really really lovely, and she is always on time for appts too.

I really hope she is good when it comes time for this bub to arrive - i had DS public

5 1/2 weeks, but probably more like 6 1/2 as DS was late

I went to Dr Adam Gubbay (SJOG Subiaco) for both my kids, and both DH and I were very happy with him. Will be going back to him when we try for #3.

I had 2 caesars but he would have happily helped me try for a VBAC with #2 if I had decided I wanted to.

Oh gosh I actually can't remember to be honest. But he did give us a handout, so u could probably phone his rooms and ask for one I'd say. I don't think I still have mine. But yes he is lovely and I'd definitely recommend him! I will get back to u if I find that handout. Good luck deciding on an OB :)
