:) How are all you lovely mums to be going?

My name is Emma and I am due on the 22nd December 2005 with my second child and its a boy. My DH and I are so excited as we already have a 5yo daughter who was born on the 22 December 2000. This pregnancy was planned but we didnt plan it to the day it just happened that way.

I have lived on the Central Coast all my life except when i moved to sydney for a year and lost contact with alot of my friends. My husband is from western sydney and moved up here 3 years ago but does not have many friends on the Central Coast.

With us both working full time, me on the Central Coast and DH in the Sydney CBD we find it hard to meet new people on the CC so we thought we would see if there was any other Parents to Be that would like to meet up somewhere local and form a support group.

So let me know if your interested. :)

Hi girls. I am new to the site but have lived on the coast my whole life. I am currently living in Hamlyn Terrace with my boyfriend and daughter who is 5. None of my friends have children so it is hard to talk to them about 'kid stuff' and i have found that although they are still into the party scene, i'm not....
Hope to hear back from other CC mums :)

Hi ali3099

Welcome to Bub Hub.

I understand what you mean about not having any friends with children that you can talk to. None of my close friends have children either. I have a 4.5yr daughter and a son on the way.

wow! It looks like you are getting close to your due date! How is your pregnancy going? We are in the process of TTC after a miscarriage we had in July. Although it has only been a few months of trying, it is starting to get frustrating because it feels like it is taking forever!!!!!!!!!!!

Hi all

Im a new mumma on the central coast,
My name is Brooke and Im 25, me and my husband moved up here 18 odd months ago and got married last november, our daughter Roxanne was born just over a month ago.

I have to agree with you all that its very hard to meet people on the central coast - we love it up here, but before the birth of Roxy - we were both commuters to Sydney and had no time for ourselves let alone other people, now Im a 'stay at home mum' and hubby works at Tuggerah.

I love being a mum - its the most wonderful thing Ive ever done with my life - but some times the one way conversation during the day is a killer. I miss adult interaction, which Im sure you guys can relate to... :)

Hi ali3099

Yes not long to go now. 34 weeks today. I had an ultrasound this morning to check my cervix isnt softening or dilating as i had treatment for CIN3 last year but everything was ay ok. Bub looks so much bigger now. Head is still down and his spine is on the left side. He is weighing 2.3kg which is about 5lb so hopefully this is a good sign that he is going to be smaller then my daughter was as she was 8lb10oz.

Can i just offer some advice on TTC. Dont think about it. The more you think about it the more it will play on your mind (i know its easier said then done). Have always found that the ppl that are so eager to conceive take longer then those who put it at the back of their mind.

Hi Petal80,

Welcome to Bub Hub and the Central Coast. My name is Emma and I am also 25 with a 4.5yr old daughter and son on the way. I was married in April this year.

My hubby (DH) commutes to sydney and I work in Wyong for a small accounting firm. I have 6 weeks till my due date 22/12 and once I have had bubs I am hoping to get all the CC mothers from Bub Hub together to start a mothers group to meet up once a week. I know that they have mother groups run through the hospitals but i want one that we can go to and just have a chat and have some adult interaction without all the advice they give you. As good as advice they are i found that when i attended the hospital run mother's group when i had my daughter they always seemed to focus on the same babies each week and some of us didnt get the help we needed.

Hi Rb

Nice to meet you -
I live at Blue Haven.

how long have you been on the coast for?

WOW, your about 10 minutes from me

I've lived on the coast for almost 5 years. Moved up from Sydney. Its such a different place. Still getting used to it after all this time. Don't get me wrong, I love the coast, not the beaches (been twice since living here, the joys of red hair & fair skin :p ), but its so......Australian?

Oh and Mum_2B, a cc get together sounds great :D

Hi Girls!
A CC meet does sound good. There seem to be a lot of 25 year olds on this site...I'm 25 too :)
I live at Hamlyn Terrace. Right near Blue Haven and Kanwal...

Mum2_B I know what you mean about thinking about TTC. It is constantly on my mind. I am going to go to the doctors next week though just to make sure everything is ok after my miscarriage as my period is a week late but the pregnancy test i did was negative......

Talk to you all later! :)

Girls

Yeh the central coast is certainly a differnt place - we used to live in plumpton in sydney (near quakers hill / blacktown) - while I still find my self adjusting to the coast life style - I know that I could never go back to living in sydney.

RB - dont worry Ive hardley been to the beach since living here too - actually i think Ive only been a handful of times - however my husband is always off fishing (he LOVES it and its his "me time" pass time)

Ali - welcome nice to meet you - Hamlyn Terrace is just right around the corner - My my lives at Wongarrah which is the ajoining suburb - its good having her so close ... as a first time grandma she has not only been very excited but a great help - especially with my c-section op and all - she helped out heaps in when I first got home. Im sorry too hear about your misscarraige - but have my fingers crossed for you!

Hi Girls,

Well i had an ultrasound on Wednesday to check the length of my cervix as i had a cone biopsy and a loop excision for CIN3 last year so the OB just wanted to check that my cervix wasn't weakening. Everything is ok though and I was so excited to see my DS to be again. He is weighing 2.3kg (5lb) and has a little button nose which looked so cute and he was sucking on his thumb. DH was over the moon seeing his DS and is even more excited to meet his DS.

Had antenatal check up today and bub is still head down and midwife said that there is still plenty of room for him to move around.

RB & Petal80 - I have lived on the CC all my life and hardly ever go to the beach. I keep telling my DH why drive 10-15mins to the beach where there is no shade when we can be at home in the shade in a pool.

Petal80 - My DH is always off fishing as well but he generally goes early morning or late at night. I just wish he would start catching something else other then salmon as we always have to give the fish away cause i will only eat salmon out of a can.

Anyway girls, the countdown is on and as much as I am over the whole pregnancy part I am getting more and more excited each day as my EDD gets closer.

Hope you all have a good day and can't wait for us all to meet up. It will good to get our hubby's together too.

Mum_2b - Oh Im soooooo excited for you! not long to go now - I remember that "over it" feeling but the excitement really out weighs it!
I was at the shops yesterday afternoon and I saw three heavily pregnant women - they seem to be everywhere now :D - just reading you talking about your bubba gave me goose bumps, its such an exciting time.

Yeh My hubby loves fishing - he has a boat as well, but its out of commision at the moment getting a service, anyone would think that he is missing a limb with the way he is carrying on - it would be great to get the guys together at some point too :)

Hi everyone!
Mum2_B You must have been feeling the heat BIG time the last couple of days! At least it has cooled down now......

I too have lived on the coast my whole life and I cant remember the last time I went to the beach. We dont have pool either though so if i want to go for a swim I usually go to my parents who live nearby anyway......

It is good to see that a meet has been organised! My partner works on the weekend but i will def be there! Hannah will love being able to play with other kids that she doesnt go to school with!

Have a good day everyone!!!!

Hi CC Mums,

I'm Nikki, 24. I live at Narara with my DP Phil (22) And our newly-turned 2-year old son Axel. We are TTC at the mo (Petal80 : LOVE your daughter's name! Roxy is a short-lister for us and was going to be Axel's name if he'd been a girl!)

I'm a born and bred Coastie, and no matter how many times or how far away I have tried to move I still end up back here!

I run a free website forum for Young Central Coast Mums with my other young Mummy Tanya. It's slowly growing (between work, kids and uni!) and we have a couple of dozen members now!

I work casually at Erina Fair in a homewares store and I've just completed Open Foundation to enter uni as a Mature Age (hopefully Arts/Law).

Look forward to meeting you all soon! My email is youngcentralcoastmums@bigpond.com and my website is www.youngcentralcoastmums.8m.com

Hi Niki & MyasMummy

Nikkiraz thanks roxy is a great name, I understand why its on your short list ;) - I'll have to check out your other site - thank you for the heads up.

MyasMummy - congrats on the new baby news! me and my husband are wanting to have our kids fairly close together too - maybe not that close :) but close, so you'll have to let me kow how you cope with it. do you suffer from morning sickness? I had VERY bad all day morning sickness for the first 16weeks with roxy, and couldnt imagine going through that AND looking after my current child, but I suppose you just cope.

hope everyone is going well

Now that Sunny is here not as bad as I thought! In fact most of the time it's lovely having the two girls so close together! HI all,

Nikki - I have checked out your website and think that its great. You mentioned that you are going to try and organise a meet in a few weeks. Rainbowbrite (fellow bub hubber) and I have started a thread called Central Coast Catch Up for the fellow CC Bub Hubbers to meet on the 4th December if you are interested in coming and extending the invitation to other mums on your website.

I have 5 weeks to go and am starting to get really excited. I think i may even be starting to nest.

Hi,

My wife Debra and I moved to the Central Coast (Mardi) in 2000 and we have a beautiful 9 month old boy.

I am wondering if you central coast mums and mums to be have a group that meets for chats and friendship as Debra has found it difficult to meet friends on the central coast. She is American and moved here and does not really know anyone and have any close friends that are interested in babies.

We do run a dog training club on the central coast for Flyball dogs however members at that venture seem to have their own lives away from the flyball group. If any mums out there love their dogs as much as their babies :-) you would be welcome to consider joining our dog training group, we train each Saturday at North Shelly Beach, our web site is www.surfstormers.org

Kind Regards,
John
