I'm a foster carer who helps other emergency and short term foster carers get what they need when they get the call that a baby or child is coming. I accept new and high quality second hand goods such as disposable nappies, clothing, bedding, prams, cots, bassinets, changetables, high chairs, bottles, sterilisers, school needs, pretty much everything you need from birth to 18.
Foster Share takes referrals from foster care caseworkers. We take note of the age/s and gender/s of the child/ren going into care,and also what they require for the child. We then pack up what is required and courier it to the carer. We receive no financial funding or donations and all costs involved are covered by us (my husband and I).
Basically I need help as the referrals for these things are coming thick and fast. I have a) No Storage - everything is currently all over my house and car b) No website - I tried using a blog but it was an epic fail. A website would be much more professional c) Volunteers in Sydney - to help with sorting items every now and then (it's actually heaps of fun and you can bring the kids) d) Donations - of goods (any baby and kids items you no longer need. I also like to include a small gift for the foster carer as a thank you on behalf of the community for taking on the role of carer to the child - eg chocolate, gift card etc)
