Well, we are a bit short of cash to donate at the moment but I do have one thing that I can give and I don't know how to go about it.

I have a brand new, still in the box, 12 foot trampoline I'd like to donate (my kids have one, so its completely useless to us).

The charities seem to be saying "we don't want things, we want cash". Also, we're in Sydney so I can't exactly just find someone with kids and say "here, have this".

But I saw a house under water on the news and you could see the same trampoline poking out of the water and I thought "hey, theirs is ruined, I can replace that". I'd really like to do something, but as I said, cash is an issue for us at the moment.

So, anyone got any ideas how to go about donating a 12 foot trampoline??

(I did warn you it was a bit of a different question.)

Maybe you could advertise the tramp in Sydney and donate the money you get from it to brisbane... Or contact a truck company that drives trough the effected areas that could drop it at a local charity donations centre... I'm sure one company would take it free of charge :) hth

often the problem is the cost of getting something to people who would use it is simply not worth it

Lovely thought, but it might be impractical logistically, maybe sell it on eBay and donate the funds.

I agree with the other suggestions, ebay it and then give the money.
If you're on Facebook, have a look at the Give Gold on Australia Day page, That page is about giving a gold coin donation to charity on Australia Day so that they all add up to a large amount. It's a way to collectively help when you don't have a large amount to give. PM me if you want the link.

I wanted to send stuff, it was too expensive... After all I bought a gift card from what I would have paid for postage. Where are u? I wanted to one for ds who talks about it since forever...
