Hi,
1st of all i want to say that your bubba has the same bday as my son...but my boy was born in 2004.

Ok well we live in Burleigh waters...its a lovely area. I used to live in varsity lakes also...but i feel like it is way to crowded with villa's & townhouse's.
Robina is nice. There is pretty much daycare/pre-school's everywhere.
Alot of the gold coast girls that come on here are from southport, pacific pines, labrador, nerang.
Here is some links...

Hope this helps

dont know if you know the g.coast at all but its a pretty big area spreading from coolangatta in the south to coomera in the north. thats about a half hour drive on the motorway in total so in between are alot of suburbs and that doesnt include the inland suburbs. it depends on (im guessing you want to rent) as certain suburbs are dearer than others. avoid surfers completely..its a slummy tourist area for tourists. we live in hope island (northern gold coast) and love it. its a quiet little town right on the water, very friendly. my son attends coomera public school which has a good reputation. as for day care the good ones you do need to book early. my son used to go to bonny babes (hope island ) which has a huge waiting list. ive already enrolled my unborn baby in for 2008.
i would have a look on real estate.com.au at some of the rental properties. if you dont have a car stick to the coastal suburbs where the bus service is alot better.
im sure your kids will love the outdoors lifestyle up here
good luck with it all

Hi thanks for all the info I have been to the gold coast a few times and my parents live down at kingscliff. we might rent for a few months first but are really looking at buying what are the list's like for schools i live in darwin and you don't have to put your kid on a waitlist to get into a school but I have heard that in some places in QLD you have to put them down.
I have looked at the real estate site and was looking at the pacific pines and oxenford area mainly oxenford because it is a new estate thing which is where we live in darwin and it always looks nice.

guess i better put name down on random child care places then any idea of how much per week for full time it costs there?

thanks

Southport area is nice and I love Runaway Bay, Paradise Point area too.

Childcare centre waitlists are long from what I hear but not sure.

School waitlists are so so dependant on the school you plan to send your child to.

Private schools have a waitlist or at least the one I plan to send my son too does.....lol they were pleased I rang them for forms when he was 6weeks old!

my son goes to public school near oxenford (coomera) and to ensure he got into pre school there i needed to book about 8 months in advance. day care is approx 50 to 60 bucks a day but than you get help from the government depending on your wages. pac pines is nice. abit out of the way if you dont have a car. its about 10 minutes to broadwater, and maybe 20 to a surf beach. its right near a big westfield shopping centre thats only new.
rachael is right runaway bay / paradise point are some of my favourites. you are closer to the water there.
