When they say to start Clomid on X day of bleeding (CD) does it matter if your bleeding has stopped by then?

I am supposed to start on CD5 but AF looks to have only been 3 days long and quite light.. is this normal on Clomid? I would have thought that it would be heavy? All my BTs seemed to indicate that my hormones were doing what they ought to and my Progesterone level was high...

My first Clomid cycle was started without inducing AF as I didnt have a cycle and my hormones were low.

I would have thought that AF would be heavier than when I was on the pill, when I was on that they lasted about 4-5 days with about 2 medium days but the rest light... now it has been 3 light days and it seems thats it!....

Hey nicoleE,
I would just give your Gyny a call and he/she should be able to help. I was ringing every couple of days to make sure i was doing everything right, when the first cycle didnt work for me i thought it might have been something i did, and i just didnt want to miss any opertunity for it to work... Best of Luck ... I love reading your diary... My turn on first cycle of clomid next month for #2:smiliedance:

Thanks jtk'smum I would normally in an instant except it is almost impossible to call them in private because I work full time and our work spaces are far from private! Even if I try to go somewhere there is always someone or traffic noise (I work in the city), its hard to find a bit of privacy!
Of course talk about periods, ovulation etc isnt your general run of the mill personal convo you have at work!

A couple of times I have left for work early and sat in my car in the carpark before driving out to ring them, only to not be able to speak to the people I need to because it is too late and they call me back the next day... although the couple of times I have done it it hasnt been too bad because I have already left a message the night before so they know why I am ringing and I dont need to repeat myself!

hey Nicole.

should be ok, i started taking it on CD5 this cycle and i stopped bleeding on CD3, with some spotting on CD4.
The FS was obviuosly well aware of this as he did an internal u/s on that day.

Still not sure why AF was only light for you tho. but hey its better than it being a heavy one!! YUCK
