Spray Tan whilst pregnant?

This months Cosmo offers its readers a free spray tan......I'm 35 weeks pregnant and the offer runs out 2 weeks before I'm due.........does anyone know whether it is safe to do while you are pregnant?:confused:

Half your luck Hides the wait is nearly over for you. To answer your question a spray tan is perfectly safe. I went to my OB this morning asking exactly the same question and of course he had no idea, but did give me the number of an organisation called Mother Safe, which is run by The Royal Womens Hospital, so I gave them a call, the nice lady there told me they had researched fake and spray tans and the product is not absorbed into the body and is perfectly safe for use if pregnant.

it depends on the place... whilst i was pregnant we got a lady to our house and she wouldnt do me because her company hadnt researched it... all spray tans are different and she didnt want to take the risk... maybe call the place and check..

I really want a fake tan too!! I always used a cream based fake tan before my pregnancy and I have so missed it. I talked to my ob about using it and she said to stear clear of the stuff while pregnant. :( Im due in just over a week and Im packing it in my hospital bag :laughing: I wonder whether I will actually care about it then

I have to say i'm a bit of a genuine spray queen :p as 2 of my friends run one of the best places in Perth and before bubs i use to get one weekly. Unfortunately some places won't spray you without a doctor's referral saying it's a-ok (in case anything happens) but the only problem with spray tanning whilst pregnant is not the fact it going onto the skin it's the fact that you breathe it in quite heavily. So you MUST wear a mask and be in a well ventilated area. I spray tan at home for the moment (Modelco spray tan) and have no drama's whatsoever, makes me feel 10x better about myself. But all creams, cloths etc are perfectly safe.
