hi there, my DD2 has just started refusing food at every meal.
she's 6.5 months old and has been eating solids since she was 4 months old and has never refused food before. i'm just wondering if this is common around this age?

i've tried different foods - thinking that she may have gone "off" what she used to have - but still no result. she will only eat arrowroot biscuits - which i try to limit. i give her a milk feed in the mornings and then an hour later give her breakfast or lunch. i dont think shes drinking too much of it and then thats whats putting her off her food, but i can't be too sure as i'm still BFing. i thought it would have been the other way around tho as she only takes about 15 min to have a full feed.

i read that babies like bland food, nothing strong in taste, so i usually give her ice cubes of chicken and veggies (sweet potato, broccoli, carrots, potato, avocado, cauliflower and/or pumpkin - usually 3 veggies in a serve) which she loved but just in the past 2 days now shes just not having a bar of anything! for dessert i usually give her some fruit - either apple, pear, peach, banana etc mixed in with a bit of rice cereal to make it a bit lumpy.

i've started introducing her to other stuff this week like cheese, yoghurt and berries, toast, hommus, kiwi fruit etc which she eats but just not in the last 2 days. and today.

i dont think shes teething and shes not acting any different. theres no temp either. she does get cranky tho when shes in her high chair as she wants to be in her walker running about. literally running!

i just dunno what is going on and would like some light shon on it please!!!

any advice, suggestions, feedback is greatly appreciated!

thanks!

DD is 18mnths, & has gone off her food for a few days - to a week several times from about 6months... I think its normal, just keep iffering food & make sure she drinks plenty. Maybe her offer a couple more bf??? If she ia hungry, she will eat..

Oh, & when she went off her food, a tooth usually came through shortly aFter :)

I have a 7 month old DD.

WAS drinking 270mls 5 times a day,
NOW Im happy if she drinks 120mls (which isnt very often)

WAS have 3 meals a day (about 120mls puree per feed, a peice of toast and a rusk per day)
NOW Im happy is she has 60mls puree (and she hasnt touched her toast or rusks in about a week)

I hope its an age thing too. Im tring not to force it (dont want to create 'bad' eatting habbits and figure if she is hungry she will eat)

She's learning to walk at the moment and would much prefer to be doing that then anything else (including eatting and sleeping)

thank you, yeah she just learnt to roll and sit the same week (a few weeks back now) and now she is almost starting to walk / cruise. she runs in her walker and can stand on her own holding onto furniture. already - scary at this age!!

i hope this is why she was refusing food. she is back to eating now tho which is great but soemtimes its hard. i dont try forcing her as i guess she'll eat if shes really hungry.

thanks again
