what words do your babies/toddlers use for things that are funny

Hayleys are:

bay (baby)
tuck (ta and thankyou combine)
door (dog, any animal is a dog or a "door")
shahn (sandwich)
kee (any food, she gets the kee sound from bicky, her socks are also kees though  )
dee (dummy)

any drink is juice, anything round is a ball and anything with wheels (even a lawn mower) is a car. she says about 25 word in total and about 4 or 5 two word sentences. Too cute :)

so what do your littlies say?

My niece used to call everything "no!" if she didn't know the name for it.

"What's that?"

"no!"

Makes sense - pick up something you haven't seen before, and people leap into the air and yell "no!"...

That, and a toddler of some friends of ours:

"What's that?"

"This."

well, yeah...

Claire says Mum/Mumma & Dad/Dadda and has started to know who these two people are.

She has an astounding repertoire of sounds, but we haven't picked up on any other "words" yet.

There is a puzzling word that she does say repeatedly, but we're not sure what she means. It's "Booka". I don't know if she means book - she says it all the time!

Hayley started saying Booka too, we still have no idea what it is  we know its not book because she calls books balls because of the B sound

I wont bore you with the list of words for DS - at 26 months he is using 5 words sentences!

At 18 months, he had 46 recognisable words....

He is my baby - was never meant to grow up so fast!

I love it when they first start talking and making up words as they go - its such a fun age! :smiliedance:

Sebastian's funniest mispronunciation is of the word "Marble" as in the small round balls of glass

He calls them "Bum-holes"

so we quite often hear "Mum I lost my bum-hole" ... "Mum where's my bum-hole":laughing:

DH and try so hard not to laugh and we just about always correct him "you mean your MAR - BLE ? "
The bigger kids think it's hilarious and for the first week everytime he said it they'd be rolling around in gales of laughter.
Thankfully Sebastian hasn't twigged that the word is funny as I'd hate for him to start using it just for the effect. :)
I really need to get video of him saying though before he out grows it :D

Bodhi is 15 mths and he says
mama, dada, cheese, ta (points to an object he wants and says 'ta' till he gets it!) nana, yeah...(has long conversations just saying 'yeah' to everything you ask him) hello, wu woo (translated: love you)... and will repeat lots of things that I say to him, but only as a one off!

He also does animal noises! He is very good with these!
He does cat, dog, sheep, duck, owl, horse and pig... but usually only if he sees the animal or I say 'Whats the owl say' etc. Very cute!
