Hi
For those with LO whho have severe egg allergy do you let them have mcdonalds and if so what is safe for them to have?? We dont have it often but dd is getting to an age where she wants to try things and I am too paranoid. I am also getting asked by people if she can have it (just as a question) but I always say just the chips. At the moment she doesnt get it.
Thanks

My ds doesn't have egg but he has severe sesame allergy. He is only allowed the chips and a plain soft serve from maccas. They dont have a good system for cross contamination and i personally don't think it is worth it.

I understand your concern. My DS suffers from anaphylaxis to egg. On the occassion that he does eat takeaway McDonalds is one of our safest bets. He can eat a McNugget happy meal safely (as well as other things but chicken is a big worry because a lot of places egg wash chicken) and we know how exceptional their hygiene is. The other benefit is that they are everywhere and their food is exactly the same.
Here is an allergen list for McDonalds (http://mcdonalds.com.au/sites/mcdonalds.com.au/files/images/Ingredient-Listing-17-November-2010.pdf). I do try to regularly check as often recipes can change
ETA I find most companies are fairly helpful if you ask or email them asking about allergens as so many people have these issues these days :)
ETA again Tangerine I will often ask them to make sure they change their gloves (particularly just after breakfast) and wipe down their workstation and they are fairly obliging.
